    Morning everyone.

Keiss - how proud you must be! :j

Yesterday went a bit pear-shaped with a rogue bowl of icecream and 2 chocolate cake bars. My two ill peeps asked pathetically for chocolate cake so I got them some and a bit of vanilla icecream to go with it. The good news is I seem to be resisting the horrid flu they both have - touch wood. Still, my calorie count didn't go over 1800 yesterday so it's not a slip-up of bingeing proportions. Still naughty though. Will try to be extra good today.

    B: banana, clementine (100)

L: broccoli and cheese pasta n sauce (500)

D: basa fillets with potato wedges and peas (500)

    S: pear, options hot choc
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher
  • Congratulations Keiss 21. That's great news :D :j

Well I managed to eat an entire box of Lindt fancy chocs that I got for my birthday all in one go last night. That's about 12 chocolates....but today is another day!!

    Today:
Breakfast - WW Toast and Extra Light Philly
    Snack - Apple
Lunch - Leftover Noodles and stir fry veg from last night's dinner
Dinner - Salmon Fishcake, broccoli, green beans and mangetout
After dinner - 5-6 Jack Daniels & diet cokes (last match of the pool season and I'm not working tomorrow!!)

    Have a good day everyone!

    Hello
Can I join in please? I have been here before (probably more than once but never for very long). I've been reading all week and it's really inspirational to read how hard you're all trying. I've been having museli for breakfast but see that porridge with water is probably better if you're serious about losing weight. I've been half heartedly dieting for two weeks but reading here really makes me determined.
How many calories should I be aiming for? I'm going on holiday in 4 weeks and want to lose as much as possible. I've put 2st on since xmas. I'm 5ft (only little) and 10st 2lbs (was 10,5 two weeks ago).
I also have double figure cuppas with milk throught the day so will try and reduce this.
    Today is
    B:porridge with water and sultanas
L:2x wm bread with cottage cheese, betroot and lettuce
    S: pear
D: scampi (baked) with large salad
exercise will be 30 min walk in my lunch break and 30 mins "Wii Love To Dance" with DD14 who has also put on a fair amount of weight

    :)

    Hello
I've been having museli for breakfast but see that porridge with water is probably better if you're serious about losing weight. I've been half heartedly dieting for two weeks but reading here really makes me determined. Having breakfast is important as it starts the body burning calories, if you enjoy museli that's fine, if you like porridge then go for it.
Main thing is to limit your total daily milk intake - try 1/2 pint for a week and see how you get on.

Best thing with calories is count how many you ARE eating and then reduce it, 2000 is recommended daily intake so for a diet around 1500 would be good.

Take a week to write a food diary and note the calories in everything - this will mean weighing your food. You will probably find it easier to reduce the quantity of what you do eat at first and then when you have got used to that quantity of food start swapping the high calorie stuff for better things - but do what suits YOU so that you can stick to it.

Your list above looks good if you keep to that along with the exercise you should be fine, do be careful about losing too much in 4 weeks and then bouncing back to where you started.

There was progrma on C4 recently 'my big fat diet show' that has 2 weeks of meal plans available along with some inspiration.
  • Morning all!
Congrats Keiss 21, you must be v.proud! I’m a native Scot although I know nothing about rugby!
Raspberry Swirl – Mmm Lindt is my absolute favourite! I’m still finding it hard to be off chocolate for Lent when the shops are full of gorgeous easter choccies – I could murder a Lindt bunny right now! Must. Resist.
Well my ‘diet’ is still plodding along. I’m still eating things I shouldn’t be (slices of cake mainly) but then my meals have been really quite healthy and 80% veg-based. Hopefully it all evens out. Yesterday I had 3 portions of fruit and 5 portions of veg which was good – I really love eating fruit/veg and could happily munch through that amount every day. I’ll just ignore the fact that I followed all that with a coffee cupcake in the evening!

    Today’s plan:
B: Porridge made with water, dollop of low-sugar strawb jam, half banana
L: Tuna and spinach salad, plum x 2
Snack: Some raw veg sticks, banana
D: HM Carrot and lentil soup (will trrrrry to resist HM bread on the side!)
Snack: Cup of tea – hopefully nothing else

Exercise: 4mile run at the gym + 200 sit ups

    morning!

not posted the last couple od days due to long working hours!
I managed to put the pound and a half that I lost last week back on again! never mind - I'll do better this week.

    welcome to maman and Ellas

    well done Raspberry!:T

Keiss - well done to your DS:T

I think you need to eat regularly to lose weight and would never miss my breakfast! If you miss meals you only end up over eating the wrong things when you are hungry.
I've had 2 teas and a coffee today so far! (about half my usual intake) but I am at home - work is always worse for me.

B - beans on WW bread toast

l - Hm leek and potato soup - ryvita crackerbread and cheese and salad

D - HM quorn cottage pie, peas few rustic chips or wedges

snacks - grapes, kiwi fruit(Aldis super six) yoghurt

    have a good day all

    Frogga - :hello:

    Hi again peeps!

I had a bad day yesterday - Though possibly not as bad as I think...

B- Cornflakes with milk and tiny sprinkling of sugar
L- 2 small crusty rolls with ham and low fat colesaw inside. (no marg), pack of walkers french fries and orange and 1 Ferro rocher chocolate (sp?)
D- small fries, sweet chilli chicken deli and diet coke from Mcdonalds. (I had promised the girls a treat as their Dad is away and they are missing him) :o
    S- Apple
Supper- 1 and a half glasses of wine and a pack of walkers square crisps. :o

I worked out that the Mcdonalds meal cost me about 800 cals... And altogether for the day approx 1400 cals, so not too bad? What do you all think - be honest!! :A

I have been averaging 1000-1200 cals per day.

So Far today I have had:
    B-Cornflakes as above
L-2 small crusty rolls with low fat coleslaw, pack walkers square crisps, 1 single chocolate.
D- Undecided! Hubby not home til late probably 8ish. Any ideas for a quick low fat meal for one??? (Beans on toast?!)

A tip for those who like crisps - like me! I have found that french fries and square crisps are much lower in fat (%) than normal crisps.. for example:
French fries: 16% (3.5g per pack)
Square crisps: 18% (4g per pack)
    Walkers lites: 22%
Standard walkers crisps: A WHOPPING 34%!

I also find that if I deny myself something completely, it makes me want it much much more - so I allow myself a small treat. At the moment it is 1 chocolate a day from the box I got for valentines day! (Ferro rocher {sp?}) (And the said crisps).

I am hopeful that I will have lost some weight this week - it is the first proper week that I have been 'dieting'. I was 10st 10lb when I started.

Just a tiny bit more background - I went up to just over 11st  just after I had my first child (who is now 7) and when she was 7 months old I loosely followed the RC programme and went down to 9st 4lb... SO I KNOW I CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :D It was shocking for me to realise that I was not far off my heaviest, I guess this is what spurred me into action this time.

    TTFN!

    Jx
I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like? :D :A :D

    Jenny! Hi!:hello:

a couple of suggestions from me

try swopping the crusty rolls for wholemeal as they are healthier and fill you up for longer.
Maybe a different breakfast to cornflakes? weetabix or porridge healthier and as before more filling.
How about a jacket spud for your dinner? nice comfort food and healthy too - possible have it with beans and a bit of cheese.

I'm with you on the frenchfries :T definitely the least evil of the crisps!:D

I dont calorie count but I think 1000- 1200 cals seems low to me - I'm no expert but i do believe you need to eat a certain amount of food to lose weight successfully long term.

I hope you dont mind my opinions:) you did say to be honest!:D

ps I LOVE ferrerro rocher too!:EasterBun not sure if I could just have 1 a day!:D

LOL! Love the choc rabbit icon! ;) I have amazed myself by just having one! :A

I don't like weetabix... but I do love porridge, but like it with loadsa sugar! not good for a diet! lol.

I am not keen on wholemeal bread, and neither my kids or my hubby eat it either. I got the crusty rolls on offer. :o

Hmmmm would LOVE a jacket spud... buy haven't got any in. :( Can't go and get one as taking DD1 for her piano lesson straight from school.

Will definately have to get some, for another day, though!

    Thanks for your comments. :)

Jenny - if nobody likes brown bread have you tried the 50% stuff?
I like my porridge with syrup:D but its quite nice with some dried fruit in - raisins or apricots and I find if I chop a banana up in it I dont need the sugar.
An apple mullerlite stirred into porridge is also very tasty.

I quite often have eggs for brekkie - the protein is a good filler upper.
