Terrible weekend (again!) which saw me snacking on all sorts of cakes/biscuits/bread and then avoiding 'proper' meals to compensate  Because I didn't eat properly I spent much of the weekend in a grumpy mood and despite feeling really guilty about what I was eating, I couldn't seem to stop myself. This is NOT good behaviour and I really need to sort out my weekend eating habits - they are so obviously my downfall. Back on the wagon this morning and looking forward to a week of controlled eating.
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, raisins
L: Salad of spinach, chickpeas and cherry toms followed by some fresh pineapple
Snack: Banana/pearHM tomato and veg soup
Snack: Sugar free jelly
Exercise: 7K run at gym + 150 sit ups
I'm off now to sign myself up to any local 5k or 10k runs I can find happening locally in the upcoming months (must check if there's a sport relief event anywhere near me, hmm). Atleast if I sign up and commit myself then I'll just HAVE to stay motivated and keep on with the exercise.0 -
Well it looks like I'm not the only one that's had a bad week. Hugs to all that need one.
I've had a 0.3kg gain this weekHad a bit of a sesh on Friday night and had been eating cake and lots of calorific tapas so I should have expected it!

Thats if i get my coursework done tonight
Didn't do too badly today as i had fairly good meals, had only fruit snacks and drank my 2 litres of water!

Morning ladies, how are we all on this lovely Tuesday morning? Ok it's definitely not lovely here, all dull and grey skies, but just keep telling myself that Spring is creeping closer (I hope!). Cannot wait to be able to run outdoors after work and go for long evening walks etc.
Yesterday was an OK-ish day food-wise. Ate a mini jam tart at about 10pm which was totally unneccessary, but I suppose it could have been worse. Definitely need to come up with some kind of strategy for avoiding the dreaded 10pm 'hmm-what-can-I-have-to-eat-even-though-i'm-not-actually-hungry' routine which I seem to have gotten into recently. I suppose it would help to not have things like jam tarts in the house in the first place, but they were left over from a home baking session at the weekend and as much as I worry about my weight, I absolutely love my baking time. Usually I ship OH off to work with everything I make but inevitably there are always two or three that won't fit in the tin! Must remember to bake some kind of cake next time so I can't sneak a slice without it being obvious.
Today's plan:
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, raisins
L: Spinach and chickpea salad, small pot of fresh pineapple, pear
Snack: BananaHoney + mustard chicken with HM wedges (mostly for OH, I'll try to resist) and a tonne of veg
Snack: Determined to have atleast one snack-free evening so nothing but cups of tea
Exercise: 5 mile run at the gym, 150 sit ups
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Raspberry - good luck tonight!
I braved the scales this morning and have put a pound of the weight lost when itt back on so thats ok however I ate rather a lot today at my aunties funeral- 2 small sandwiches, 2 thin pizza slices and a huge chocolate muffin(to die for) and am feeling bloated now - serves me right.
tonight I've got a HM quorn chicken pie with mash and veg for tea. No more snacks for me today!(SW tomorrow)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi
Can't remember when I last posted, not at all good at meal planning, have been skipping meals and picking at cakes and biccies, not goodl. No exercise done, went to swim pool on weekend but was shut due to staff shortages, went back home and vegetated the whole weekend. Not good at exercising in the week as work and home get in the way. May be able to go swiming on Thurday.
Have made a big pot of carrot and lentil soup which I will put in the fridge so I have something to eat as soon as I get in, this is to stave off the hunger pangs that lead me astray. I only work 4 hrs a day so not allowed a lunch break.
Tonight will have sausage, mash and cabbage. Will finish with and apple and pear so that should cover my 5 a day.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Hi!
I am usually found lurking on the home forums... but a first timer here!
I am hoping to loose about 1 and a half stones... I am guilty of being a snacker
I hope some of you find these recipes helpful, feel free to share with anyone:
Braised chicken with mushroom and lemon sauce
Ingredients – Serves 4
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
4 skinless chicken breasts
Salt and black pepper
Juice of 2 lemons
150g (5½ oz) mushrooms, quartered
125ml (4fl oz) chicken stock
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme or marjoram
6 spring onions, finely chopped
To garnish: a few sprigs of fresh thyme
Method
1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan or saucepan, big enough to hold the chicken in a single layer. Add the chicken and brown them all over.
2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and then add the lemon juice, mushrooms and stock. Cover and bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked. Add a little more stock or water if the liquid is evaporating too quickly; there should be some left when the chicken is cooked.
3. Remove the chicken breasts from the pan and keep them warm. Boil the remaining cooking liquid until it thickens slightly. Stir in the chopped thyme or marjoram and spring onions and adjust the seasoning as necessary. Serve the chicken, spoon the mushroom sauce over it and garnish with spring of fresh thyme.
Serving suggestion: boiled new potatoes with runner beans and/or peas.

Smothered chicken with white wine and mushrooms
Ingredients – Serves 4
4 lean skinless chicken breasts
1 medium red onion finely chopped
1 x 2.5 cm (1inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped.
300ml (½ pint) chicken stock
1 tbsp plain flour
225g (8oz) chestnut mushrooms, sliced
1 wine glass white wine
2 tbsps chopped mixed herbs
Salt and black pepper
Fresh rosemary to garnish
Method
1. Season the chicken breast on both sides with plenty of salt and black pepper and place in a hot preheated non-stick pan. Dry-fry on both sides for 5-6 minutes until lightly browned, then remove from the pan and place on a plate.
2. Add the red onion to the pan and cook gently until softened. Add ginger and 2 tbsps of chicken stock.
3. Sprinkle the flour on top and ‘cook out’ for 1 minute. Slowly stir in the remaining stock and add the mushrooms and wine.
4. Add the chicken and the herbs and simmer for 25-20 minutes until the sauce is reduced and the chicken is cooked. Garnish with rosemary and serve.
