Horrendous few days for me, just an accumulation of long hours, poor preparation and boredom with food choices. As a result I have eaten crisp butties for lunch 2 days running, too many biscuits at tea break, extra bread with meals, White toast with butter and 4 pints of lager.......
line drawn under it
Tomorrow I am making 4 bean chilli, butternut squash soup and spicy lentil soup to give me a few options for lunch in work.
Hoping to get out on my bike sometime this weekend, either that or go for a heavy duty cleaning session to burn some calories
have a good weekend all0 -
Hello, i hope it is okay for me to join.
i have about 3 stone to lose and am starting seriously on monday.
I have been off and on since the start of the year but not really on it enough!
My partner of nearly 8 years with whom i have 2 daughters proposed to me at his xmas work do in dec. As it stands we may get married next year if we do it abroad or the year after if we do it here as we will have to save up to feed more mouths!! It seems quite far away but then i can't start even thinking about looking at dresses until i am at a better weight.
This weekend is going to be a naughty one. We have take away tonight and it is my daughters 7th birthday tomorrow so there will be cake and pizza!!!
I plan to do it with healthier meals and exercising using the wii fit paired with swimming and walking. I quite often have weetabix at work for lunch...not as a fad diet but because i really love weetabix!! :-)
I find eating healthy hard as i only like 2 types of fruit and i dont eat any salad and my liking of veg is pretty limited so i am hoping i can pick up some ideas on here. I like peas, carrots, swede, onions, peppers, mushrooms and sweetcorn so there is something to work with! Hopefully this board will give me some motivation.
Well done to everyone who has shed some lbs and good luckOrange Fairy

Tappy can you post me some of whatever bug you had please :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hope you and mlz1413 feel better soon
mine was a prawn sandwich but having told a friend about it at the weekend she said it was very similar to a bug she had the week before -either way as tappy says you really wouldn't want it!
I am much better thanks Tappy, have eaten much smaller amounts since and much plainer food, so am trying to stick to the portion size as a) its probably the correct size portion and b) as my WI is Friday.
Hi to LittleKel
Floyd - your 4 bean chilli sounds good can you let me know if similar to below or post the receipe if its different please?
Black Bean Chilli - serves 4 approx 430 cals per portion
400g black beans (soaked overnight and then drained)
2 tbsp olive oil (can get away with less)
1 onion chopped
5 garlic cloves roughly chopped
2 rashers bacon diced (optional)
1 tsp ground cumin
1tsp mild chilli powder (I prefer hot)
1 red pepper
1 carrot diced ( i prefer grated)
400g chopped tomatoes
bunch chopped coriander
salt & pepper
The beans must be boiled for 10 mins and then simmer for 1.5 hrs until tender, when draining reserve 225 ml of liquid.
fry onion, garlic, add bacon. stir in cumin & chilli. add pepper, carrot, toms and simmer for 5 mins.
Add half coriander, the beans and liquid, season and simmer for 30-40 mins until thickened. add remaining coridander & season to taste.
as with all bean meals please remember the next day will be windy.......
I have frozen portions of this and reheated gently with a small amount of water.

Yesterday was good, hoping today will go well too. Slightly shaky start as I used up yesterdays yorkshire pud batter for pancakes for DD and I had one in addition to my weetabix. It was only little though. Was supposed to go to baby yoga this morning but just couldn't face the pelting rain. No exercise yet again then! I suppose I could hoover.
