On the plus side for me this week - yesterday DD and I walked over 4miles and according to Sparkpeople I burnt off over 500 calories :j Pity I then ruined it with a sausage dinner from the chippy :o I was so hungry and really fancied sausages & gravy :o Oh well, back on the wagon today food wise - I've given up chocolate for lent (although DD is doing her best to tempt me :rotfl::rotfl:) and I'm going to try and take up wii fit+ every day until I've burnt off "a chocolate bar" ;) Boxing here I come :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm also going to go and batch cook some things this afternoon so I'll have plenty of homemade meals in ready to whack in the microwave or remoska instead of resorting to pasta all the time as its quick :o

  • Hi Everyone,

I've been quite good during the day this week, BUT, my mum gave us a tin of Roses and I've been eating them for the last 2 nights & on Monday night I had 2 big slices of a large swiss roll late at night :o

Somehow I don't think I'll have lost at my weigh-in on Friday morning.....oh well, no-one made me do it......I'm just getting the Pac Man feeling again recently :EasterBun

  • I've not posted on here before, so please be gentle with me, lol :D

I made a delicious dinner yesterday which didn't cost much at all. I started by cooking a pan of pasta.

In a separate bowl I put in a tin of baked beans then added some passatta (about half a small carton), enough to stop the sauce being too thick. I then added an oxo cube, dried herbs, chopped up red onion, a few frozen quorn pieces, then zapped in the microwave for 5 mins. I then served it on top of the pasta with a sprinkling of cheese. It was really tasty and virtually fat free and low calorie. Perfect for my diet :)

    Day 17. Breakfast as normal.
Lunch at Mum's, ham and veg soup, delish. Pear and orange.
    Snack Pear

Huge splurge at expensive fish restaurant, but not nearly as bad as it could have been.

Starter Crab salad, declined mayonnaise, swapped with dh half way through as he was eyeing it up, was finding it a bit rich, so finished his mussels, mariniere so no cream.

Main, grilled fish and about enough for several people. Had french beans and mashed roots (carrot, parsnip swede). Nothing evil. I stopped before the end of the salmon. So far fairly good.

Had a pot of tea before dinner and sparkling water with. A tablespoonful of wine as I was driving.

Pudding......ah, well, I wish I'd had my camera! It was one of those bit of everything on the menu type things, but I shared it with my dad. Tiny piece of choc tart, which I had, he had the brandysnaps and the sponge roulade thingy, and the bread and butter pud. Quite a lot of fresh berries and a small scoop of icecream. WOrst bit was probably be the candle made of chocolate with a walnut on the top. But I didn't have it all! DH finished it.

I haven't had anything special really for almost a fortnight, chose carefully and really enjoyed it. I'd much rather go to a quality restaurant every now and then rather than medicocre places more often. My dh is lodging with my parents in the week while he works away. Instead of paying them 'rent' or keep, which they don't really want, he takes them out for a meal each week. They missed last week so they went all out this week and ds and I went over too as it's half term.

Now I need to have a good day tomorrow.

  • Ended up eating 2 hot cross buns (pack of 6 reduced to 10p in ASDA, too good to resist!!) and 2 thick slices of granary bread last night. Just started feeling quite crap about putting on weight at weigh-in so thought I'd overeat to make matters worse :D

Hoping i can save a few WW points each day from now to undo the damage...

    Today:
    Breakfast - Porridge
Lunch - Soup, HM Bran Muffin, Pineapple
Dinner - Salmon, potato, carrot, green beans and broccoli all roasted in oven

Morning everyone! Well done on your loss tappy. :j

Looks like the rest of us need to pull our socks up. :D

Hopped on the wii fit to assess the damage of a rubbish 2 weeks and I've put on 2lb, so back up to 13st. I'm suprised it wasn't worse though so will count it as a victory. ;)

Not sure what I am going to eat today, but am planning a cook-up. 1st attempt a curried parsnip soup today I think, so that may well be lunch. The outside world is grey and freezing and uninviting so might get exercise via housework.

B: options hot choc and slice of toast with peanut butter (300)

    L: spicy parsnip soup I hope! b (300)

D: fishcakes, boiled potatoes and veg (400)

S: banana, toast and peanut butter (lethal thing to have in the house!)
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher

Which is exactly why I can't/won't have it in the house! I could eat peanut butter with a spoon straight from the jar no problem :D

Taplady - Well done on the loss :T

Another mediocre day for me yesterday - managed to be good during the day and then let myself go a bit in the evening (remains of OH's homemade fruit scones, mmm). Nothing terrible, but still not a habit I want to get in to. Thankfully the scones are now finished and although there are still some chocolates/sweets lurking, I'm determined to stick to my Lent resolution and not touch them. Hopefully I'll be better tonight with nothing to tempt me.

B: Porridge made with water, half banana, handful raisins
L: Spinach salad with small square of cheese, easiyo yog pot, pear
    Snack: Another pear
D: Salmon with sweet chilli glaze, wholewheat cous cous, carrots + sweetcorn
    Snack: Sugar-free jelly

Exercise: Run 5K at the gym + 150 sit ups

    Happy Thursday everyone
