absolutely agree with mlz re joggers (or leggings in my case!) and eenymeeny about the processed food. I've weaned myself off the leggings :rotfl:and have almost entirely eliminated processed carp from my life. I tend to cook up loads of cottage pie/lasagne whatever and put portions in freezer.

Hard to avoid easy to throw in the oven processed stuff tho sometimes when getting in from work hungry and tired, easy to chuck in chicken goujons (where does a chicken keep its goujons that's what I want to know) and some kind of frozen potato product.

have been doing HM chicken bits lately, covered in spicy coating. might do a big batch at the weekend and freeze them, same for wedges. Ohhh, feel like have had LBM.

    Today's plan

B - Lidledediddledee own brand crunchy museli, mik
Sn - last bit of delicious HM bread pudding (already eaten mmmmm)
Lu - Ham Salad Sarnie (wholemeal bread :A)
    Sn - apple
    D - HM Toad-in-the-hole, mash, carrots & peas

Walking - 20 mins lunchtime, 20mins after work

    Thursday
    B - porridge, dried fruit
Lu - HM chicken soup, half a pitta
    Sn - banana
D - not sure yet - OH going shopping today, might be pork chops

Walking 20 mins in the morning, 20 mins after work, 20 mins lunchtime if I go out.

    Morning All,

I made a bit of a c*ck up last night and had defrosted stewing steak and not mince, so chilli was off the menu. :rotfl:
Ended up with a takeaway, curry from chinese shop :o managed not to eat all the rice though.

So we will be having stew later in week! I've already got chicken out for tonight so will put stew in slow cooker for an easy meal probably on Friday as we are out that night.

    Today's plan:
B: single pack of cereals & splash of milk - 175 cals
    S: 3 choccy biscuits = 210 cals
    L: sandwich or a wrap
    S: aero mousse - 100 cals
D: chicken breasts, rice and veg

I'm thinking about having a veggie night once a week, will be difficult as fella thinks dinner with no meat is either a snack or a starter!
  • Hello everyone I'd like to join in here.

I too have dieted all my life even when I wasn't fat probably because my mother was always dieting.

It has caused me lots of problems over the years and at one point i became bulimic.

Finally trying to tackle it sensibly by healthy eating and exercise. One thing I have decided though is that i won't weigh myself. I just too easily get obsessive over the numbers. I have decided instead to purely go by clothes and the way they fit. As I have been every size from 8 to 22 no problem finding something a bit too small/tight for me and then trying it on occasionally.

Seems to be working as mid january I was carry a spare pair of trousers everywhere with me in case I split the ones i was wearing. (hangs head in shame) But they are now getting a bit loose so this healthy eating must be taking effect.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Well I fell off the waggon last night in spectacular style.
Got home and raided nearly empty cupboards; so I finished off a pack of pine nuts (approx 2 handfuls) then hacked lumps off a chorizo sausage. Then went back for more chorizo.

Actually I fell off earlier in the day as when I went to buy a sandwich I hesitated whilst deciding on ham salad or chicken mayo salad and the lady at the counter said 'how about bacon & brie?' so did I say no sorry that's too fatting, oh no I said yes please! and then said yes to the cranberry sauce, then added a bag of crisps and a low calorie drink (??why at this stage was I worried!?)

So rounded that off the day with a creamy chicken dinner, wine and then vodka & coke - hey may as well enjoy it whilst I'm down here!;)

I have been shopping so do have some healthy choices in the house now.

    So today I have:
B: banana & cuppa (still haven't eaten still)
    S: apple
L: salad with 2 slices of meat, a squeeze of salad cream and a teaspoon of chuntey.
S: aero mousse (they were on offer and the date is end of the month)
D: beef stew with pots (currently in slow cooker), cabbage & peas

Some of us seem to be struggling a bit here! Laughed at the 'sandwich experience'', I once went in for a bottle of water and someone next to me asked 'are those sausage rolls are hot?' Say no more...:o;)
Pleased that we can laugh it off though, we'll get there in the end!
Maybe we should adopt the old Girl Guide motto of 'Be Prepared'?
    Good luck everyone :)

B - Porridge with dried fruit - DONE!
Sn - Got a couple of pears from the fruit stall on the way in to work (was going to get apples in A$da but had a bad experience resulting in me walking out without apples and muttering something similar to 'goodness me, one merely required an apple, doncha know' but that's another story, so ended up at fruit stall so will frequent there instead from now on.)
Lu - fetched in HM chicken soup
D - hmmmmmm, depends on if OH sticks to 'the list' and gets the lamb mince!

walking 20 mins to the bus stop - DONE, with extra 10 mins rushing about hither and tither in A$da during aforementioned experience.

    I'm getting there....

    Hi All

I would like to join you all starting from Monday. I am not saying what weight I am, even my DH does not know that!! I would however over the course of the year try and lose 2 stone :o I have a wedding in Las Vegas on 10th April for which I am hoping to lose at least half a stone, that works out 1lb a week. I am quite a healthy eater very rarely eat chocolate or sweets, I am more a savoury snack person ie ritz biscuits with cheese, digestives and cheese, cooked ham, nachos and cheese.....see a theme here :rotfl:Also wine is my downfall but I am cutting that back to weekends only now, I have friends coming over on Saturday for food and drink so this will be my last indulgence.

My DH works shifts and is not always home for dinner so just me and 2 kids, we usually eat the same meals. I think as long as I eat well and follow the programme I have made up I will lose my 1lb a week and posting on here will also help me!

I aim too Walk 30 mins each day at lunchtime, whether its raining or not
3 times a week do 2 x sections of Davinas workout DVD (blew the dust off it this morning)
Drink 2-3 litres of water each day, not just through the week!

Will see you all on Monday, have a nice weekend everyone :D

Please can I join, I've just found the thread, me and OH started a diet 10 days ago, so far so good, I'm a veg. he's not but will eat veggie options.
Like most of us on here I love eating whether I'm hungry or not, have made some yoghurt ice lollies out of muller light, get 4 lollies to a tub, so only 25 cals each and not too expensive on the purse as they are on offer.
