Well done everyone, even if you haven't lost you're keeping at it!
I'm struggling here, haven't lost again. Not surprising really since I had sausage and mash followed by rhubarb crumble and custard at the weekend:D Friends arrived and persuaded us to go for a pub meal:o
I convinced myself that I'd been working in the garden and was entitled to a treat.... you know what I mean? Anyway it seems like the only time I have a proper meal. Must get my act together, salad wilting in the fridge as I write so no excuse, except that it seemed a much more attractive option.:o I love salad in the summer but just don't fancy it at the moment. I'll be ok once I give myself a shake and get into it properly. The challenge at the moment is to keep posting as this is when I usually give up and slide back into my bad habits. Got to lose this extra bulk that I am carrying around everywhere with me.
Onwards and upwards....good luck everyone:)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Well, I've managed to confuse myself as to how much weight I have lost. I have some fat monitor scales at home which give a reading in pounds and then I weigh myself at the gym which has a really accuarate balance scale but weighs in kilos
I weighed myself this morning on the fat monitor scales and they showed 163.8 which is a whole 3.5lb lighter than when I started. Then I weighed myself at the gym and I was 73.4 kilos which is over a kilo less than my starting weight. Trouble is 163.8 lb translates as over 74 kilos. So my home scales can't be accurate. And the amount I have lost is different on each set of scales as well.
However I have definitely lost something!!
Paul McKenna system still working really well. Am now finding it hard to ignore the little sensation that tells you when you have physically eaten enoughIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Eeny you do have to treat yourself, but a treat is to keep you on the straight and narrow, not to end the healthy eating altogether!
Maryb try weighing yourself at home and then straight to the gym (in the same clothes) and weigh again - you can see how accurate the home scales are then. Do the home scales have a button that changes the reading? mine has one in the battery compartment with lbs/stones/kgs.
I really fancy salad today - sun is shining and I'm feeling good. Got to walk doggie in the daylight this morning and after months of dark that has put me on a high (or is that the calorie overload from yesterday that has made me hyper?!?!)
Today:
B: 2 toast, l/fat spread, then 1 with blackcurrent jam & 1 with bovril
S: none!
L: salad - must resist the mayo potatoes....
S: small apple & small slice of HM cake (given to me by a friend)steak with salad and new pots

:hello:
Please can I join in?
I need to lose a minimum of 2 stone so have been dieting for the past 3 weeks - I think I have lost 4 lbs but am using different scales so not sure. Will stick to my scales at home from now on.
I have cut my sugar in tea down to 1 spoon from 2. Will aim to get this down to half by end of next week. Can't abide sweetener chemicals.
I fell off the wagon last nightbut am making up for it today by being strict, eating much less and v low fat.
So far
B. One slim fast shake (220 cals)
S. Cereal bar (120 cals)
L. HM veg soup (only about 150 cals)
Dinner will be more veg soup and if I am hungry later on, a ryvita and cottage cheese with onion and chives.
This IS the year I WILL lose the excess weight0 -
Welcome Frugal - try not to set the bar too high (or too low calorie wise), I calculated how many calories I tended to eat / drink in a day and then cut down from that. ie 2200 cals down to 2000 down to 1800. I struggle with less than 1500 cals and I'm not nice when I'm hungry so have to find a balance!
I did a quick shop last night and so have some reduced bargins for today:
B: single portion cereal pack & milk = 175 cals
S: 1 slice of HM cake = 150 ish?
L: prawn layered salad & melon medley = 425 cals
S: aero mousse = 107 calsmackeral, 1 new pot, broc & beans = 600 cals
drinks should be low cal / water.0 -
Morning all
Someone in The Arms :eek:suggested THIS website so I have signed up - You add details about yourself, lifestyle etc and it works out your calorific needs and how much to cut down by to lose weight. Then you put in details of what you have eaten and it works out the cals, vitamins, fibre etc and shows you where you are short and where you are doing well! Its really good IMO.
So far today I have had
Slimfast
1 multigrain ryvita with a scraping of houmous
tbsp alfalfa sprouts
3 dried apricots
All totalling 338cals
Lunch will be hm 10veg soup
Snack Ryvita with cottage cheese
Dinner WW microwave meal0
