  • Hi, would love to join in please. I have quite a bit of weight to lose - about 4 1/2 stone. This has been sitting there for quite a number of years.

However, 2 things have made me feel I really need to do something about this.

    1. My eldest son gets married at the end of April and I would like to be a bit slimmer by then, hopefully a size 18 - that's what I'm aiming for.
    2. My doctor has had to change my medication for depression, and the one he has put me on makes you feel hungry. My son was on it for a period last year, and put on 1/2 stone per week!!

However, having to watch what I eat doesn't help my depression etc, as it is something else to try and cope with, so will have to see how I get on.

I have made some changes -
I know that I will feel hungry, so have bought some low fat/cal products that I can eat. I have bought cereal, fruit, rice pudding, fat free yogurt as I have a dreadful hankering for sweet things. I have low whatever crisps. I am trying not to buy biscuits, sweets, cakes - although this is hard, as I'm not the only one in the house I'm catering for. I have made soup so that is available when I feel hungry during the day.

I am also aware that I haven't got the money available to buy lots of slimming stuff, so it is OS for me too.

Morning all - sorry that I haven`t posted much recently, haven`t even had chance to read the postings.
    Welcome to everyone new.
Lost 0.75 lb last week which takes my total since starting WW online to 6lbs. So quite pleased with that.
Have been invited to a wedding reception on Easter Monday so am aiming for a mini goal of another 14lb by then.
    Good luck everyone

Marygoodwife indian food is fine if you think about it first - try to avoid the cream based ones (korma) and anything fried - onion bahjees & samosas. Be sensible with the carbs ie naan OR rice.

Tandoori chicken and madras's are OK and biriyini's are best as the rice is part of the meal. Also when you eat the popadums try to stick to the red onions and the mint sauce as these are the lowest in calories, mango chutney is loaded with sugar so best left alone.

Welcome Gillian62, sounds like you are on the right track - good luck with your target for your sons wedding.

Yesterday I managed not to snack so was pleased with myself for that, but did have a couple of glasses of wine as met OH in pub due to him working until 9.30pm last night.

    TODAY:
B: bacon sandwich (OH was cooking bacon which smelt sooooo goood!)
    L: tin of soup & 2 crackers
D: meal out, probably italian so must be careful what I choose!!!

    Today:
B: Cup of tea + oat milk
L: Nut cutlet, a handful of oven chips + same of sweetcorn (I have small hands ;) ) Water.
    Mid-afternoon: cup of black coffee
D: Will be having dahl + pilau rice (small amount) with salad. Fancying a spoonful or two of lime pickle as well so i must be on the mend lol

Was on holiday last week and was very good - ate really healthily and did lots of exercise and sporty type things. No snacks at all in the day and almost no puddings. Now I'm back at home things are sliding, and today at work I'm picking again. I think I get bored...

So today I have to try and avoid the bad eating habits of work.......... or win the lottery and leave work, whichever is the more achievable

Anither lb down this week which I'm pleased at as I'm had really pmt sugar cravings - indulged a bit but not too much. Am allowing myself sundays off dieting but still not going overboard - a few roast spuds and a pudding, or a cake at teatime.

my knee is better so am going to run tomorrow so hopefully be able loose 2lb a week or at least loose soem inches again

            7lb down 14 to go

            :rotfl:Love it!

I did ok at the weekend, as I was busy I didn't snack, but too much alcohol and a meal out doesn't make it a good weekend! :D

Not being good at all today, far too much carbs but have a healthy dinner of chicken breast stuffed with spinach & feta cheese to come - just the white wine & double cream in the sauce that ruins it
