Hi - good to see everyone posting
Yesterday
B: A pear + cup of black coffee
L: Salad with iceberg, watercress, beetroot, + 3 cold LO samosasParty-food: too many snack-size onion bhajis + potato pakoras (about a dozen bits altogether) with carrot sticks and a large handful of salted pretzels with 3 glasses of cranberry with fizzy water. Small piece of HM cheez-cake with about 2 tbsp raspberry sorbet.
Exercise: About 2 miles up and down the hills, taking turns with OH pushing the double buggy, on top of usual housework etc
Today
Brunch: Half a baby avocado on 1 slice of wholegrain seeded bread. Cup of tea with rice milk.
S: In about an hour, I'll be having a pear and glass of rice milk after some Yoga. Will be nut cutlets, veg + gravy - will attempt to keep to a small amount of steamed potatoes. Probs a bit more raspberry sorbet.
S: If hungry after all that after a few hours, will have some popcorn and glass of rice milk watching DVDs!
Exercise: plan on about 30 minutes of Yoga in a bit.Love and compassion to all x0 -
Being off work this weeks has meant more food than normal and more wine too
But reducing my portions means I have managed to only put on 1lb.
Food today so far:
b: 40g just right cereal with oat milk.
l: pasta with lots of veg and chicken frankfurters (lower fat)
s: two crumpets.
d: Not sure yet, might do bacon and eggs - grilled/dry fried of courseworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Official weigh in this morning and I've put 3lbs on:( I'm not going to let it worry me though as I went a bit overboard yesterday after being careful right through Christmas. Starting properly today, the holidays are over. Bran flakes and cup of tea, ss milk and I'm going to get some exercise in today.
Any one want an opened box of Th...tons chocs?:)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Total loss so far 1.6lbs
I love the first week of dieting, all the water weight makes it so motivating!
Today dinner is HM lasagne and veg (OH will want chips with his)
Not sure what else to eat. We've only got doorstep bread which is 160 cals a slice!!! I don't want to waste so many on bread so maybe will do a soup instead or scrambled eggs.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Happy New Year all. Welcome to all the new people look forward to getting to know you.
Got weighed this morning and have gained 5lbs over the holiday period. That leaves me with a total loss of 3lbs since I started in November.
Have eaten lots of goodies, including too much cake and a whole box of chocolate covered brazils which has done nothing for my sugar levels (I have impaired glucose tolerance). Still have lots of chocolates in the house but that`s not a problem because I don`t usually eat much of it anyway.
My plan is as follows:
1. Mini goal - lose 7lbs by the end of January
2. Get back to the gym (didn`t get there much during December due to bad weather and not feeling like it.
3. Count calories
4. Go for a walk every day. As I work from home I really need to get out again at lunchtime. I seem to spend all day stuck in my chair by my PC.
Plan for today:
Count calories
Chicken casserole in slow cooker
30 minutes walk
Have a good day everyone0 -
Hi all,
Been OK for the past few days but not saintly so I need to tighten up with my portion control
B: 2 wholemeal toast with light cream cheese
L: HM veg soup and 1 slice breadBreaded haddock with HM potato wedges and mushy peas
S: 1 pear, few squares of choccy
I also need to plan my work lunches better as the veg soup I have been eating is not enough to keep me full for a few hours so I start pickingNeed to do some batch cooking at the weekend, small portions of veg chilli or curry with brown rice seem to be the best things to keep my appetite suppressed

Floyd - I think you need some protein at lunchtime to keep you full. The veg chilli or curry are great ideas. If you include some pulses, such as beans or lentils that would be great. I feel so much better after a filling lunch.0 -
Thanks Imataloss, I'm really trying to summon up some willpower, not doing very well at the moment. I've always worked full-time and am now at home full-time, loving it but have decided to award myself a 'lunch break'. Getting out of the house and walking whatever the weather. I find it too easy to switch the telly on at lunch time and still be there an hour later... wish me luck! I'll be thinking of you walking too:)
Thanks Eenymeeny, I know what you mean about the willpower.
I used to work in an office full time and now I work from home full time. I used to look forward to my lunch breaks at work when I met up with friends/colleagues or just went out for a walk.
Now it`s so easy to just sit at my desk. I try not to switch on the telly at lunchtime or I wouldn`t feel like starting work again.:)
Yesterday, I walked to the local shops and back. It was only a 20 minute round trip and was much quicker than if I had used the car.
Today, have got to pick up a prescription from the doctors. Will incorporate that into my walk. It`s light rain here at the moment so hopefully will have stopped by then. If not I`ll just get my waterproofs on and go for it
Enjoy your walks0
