Sorry, didn't post my WI on the first...really shocked at how heavy I was...almost gained all the weight I lost 18 months ago when I was ill!! I was 25 lbs heavier than this time last year...not good at all!!:eek::eek:
Still, WI this morning showed a drop of 6 pounds in the last week :j...just shows what getting back to sensible eating (and charging around everywhere!) can do. Have still been munching on the last of the Xmas goodies...cake almost gone now
Going to empty the freezer tomorrow, defrost it and put everything back in a sensible order. Will type up the contents list and make meal plans for the next two weeks...that will help both with the weight loss and keeping spends low too.
I must get back to posting daily menus...got to go now, but will post again tomorrow.
Have a good evening all.

Hi all,
food today has been
b: 40g cereal
l: pasta with hm sauce and hm meatballs
d: dunno yet.
s: none so far...working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I'm new to this forum, so please feel free to move this post! I have searched but can't find what I'm looking for!
Got a Kenwoood Chef for Christmas (I know v.lucky:j) - however, I am on a diet and struggling to find low fat or low cal recipes for it. Done HM burgers, mashed potato, and low fat sponges and brownies, but nothing very exciting.
I've for the KC Titanium, with the processor and liquidiser - any ideas please?0 -
Hi all,
Yesterday was Ok because although I ate more than usual, I went mountain biking for the first time in months and it nearly killed me!
B: Porridge made with half milk half water
L: Cheese toastieChickpea madras and 1/2 portion of boiled rice, 2 poppadoms
S: Apple and blackberry crumble with custard
7 miles of all terrain biking in while it was 2 degrees outside so hopefully will have burned off a few calories!
Today I've just been pottering around so not much activity to add in.
B: 2 wholemeal toast, no butter, HM marmalade
L: Cheese and HM chutney on wholemeal breadHM veggie lasagne and a few HM potato wedges
S: Nothing else
Have a good week all0 -
Hmm difficult one, to me the Chef is just a tool that helps you do things so I don't think of it as having recipes of its own (IYSWIM?).
If you've got a liquidiser that would be perfect for making home made soups and soup recipes are both low fat and low cal. There are loads of recipes on the Index that you could use the Chef to help you with.
You could make bread using the dough hook as well (if you're eating bread),
Not sure that this helps very much!Piglet

Thanks Piglet - I tried HM wholemeal bread but it was very heavy (I have NEVER made bread before so practice is needed!), I also do lots of soups, but always use hand blender - didn't even occur to me to us Kenwood, so thanks for that! x0

It's just a set of tools, as Piglet says. No special recipies! There was a recipe book published for it back in the 70's or so (you'll probably find it on Ebay) but it's extremely dated, belive me. (I've got it somewhere....)
Nope, just think of it as a blender/mixer/dough maker/grater/etc etc and use it to make your usual recipes, but faster than you could with a spoon, knife, whisk, grater, sieve and kneading your own dough by hand. Because that's what it was invented for...to do all the chores that we used to do manually, but quicker. Nothing more special than that.Val.0 -
Hello all,
I'm one of those long-time lurkers, some-time posters that occasionally pop up! I'm struggling to lose a stone to get to my ideal weight according to my Wii fit!
I'm a bit of a snacker but I'm trying to cut out bad stuff. I cut out wheat for a week and lost one pound. I'm not allergic to wheat (don't think it's bad for you) and not into faddy diets but it did seem an easy way to cut out high calorie stuff as most cakes/biscuits/bread and pasta contain it. Bread and pasta are not bad on their own but I'm too reliant on them (with large slabs of butter on the bread:eek:. So it's a way of making me stop and think about what else I can eat rather than sandwiches, bread and butter or a big bowl of pasta.
I'll try and post regularly to keep me on track. My weigh-ins will be on Monday so I'll do my first WI tomorrow!
Wish me luck and hello to you all!

Floyd - Your symptoms triggered off something for me - I'm not a doctor but my mum had inner ear problems. There is a problem called Labyrinthitis which has similar symptoms to yours. May be absolutely nothing to do with your symptoms but no harm having a doctor or professional check it out!O/S Weight Loss 1.75/80 -

Hi Everyone, official weigh in day...I've lost a pound, not a lot but better than putting it on and feeling like I'm seriously getting into it now. (Watched a couple of 'weight loss' programmes last night which prompted me to peel some carrots which were lounging in the bottom of my veg box, added a couple of onions and 'bits', stuck them in the slow cooker and now I have soup for lunch today. All done during the adverts!) Thanks to the poster who suggested protein as a filler. It reminded me that I used to keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge for those emergency, starving, times!
Good luck everyone and well done! The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
