    Thanks PP :)

I really need the help of the ladies on this board - I really need to lose at least a stone (not sure exactly what I am atm but its around the 13st mark and i'm 5'6".

I am so fed up with my muffin top jeans (I did bake muffins with the kids today but i haven't even eaten ONE!) and having clothes in the wardrobe that don't fit me.

To fit my clothes I need to lose 1 stone. Ideally I would like to lose 2 but would be happy with one to start with.

I will have a good long read of this thread once the kids go to bed, and hopefully with your help I will be on my way :)

            Hi Frugal,
Try eating normally for a day but count every calorie you eat, as in weigh how much spread you put on bread, how much oil goes into cooking, weigh the portion of potatoes / pasta / rice you have with your meals. Then cut down from that intake

If you just aim for say 1500 cals you may well not stick at it due to the difference making your sugar levels go wobbly.

Also try and make your snacks fruit and drink water.

            Good luck

Recipe = Squash, sage and sweet potato risotto

1 onion sliced very thin wedges
just over 1lb squash/sweet pots, cubed
            440g Arborio rice
            1.25 litres veg stock
            75g parmesan
2 tbl spoons sage shredded (I used fresh sage but I guess you could use dried and adjust for flavour)

heat oil in pan, cook onion till soft, add squash and rice, cook 5 mins
add little stock at a time and cook till absorbed, add more stock and repeat, stir for about 20 mins, till all liquid absorbed, squash soft and cooked an d rice is tender

add parmesan and sage, stir gently, serve topped with little parmesan

Personally I have never been able to source vegetarian parmesan, so this is not strictly a vegetarain meal, but it worked well for us and was reallt nice.

Today bfast slice toast (rushing again, why is it so hard to get up on dark mornings!)
Lunch - nut cutlet with new potato salad
Dinner - haddock with veggies and sweet potato cubes
Snk - oatmeal cookie HM with less sugar
To those who are given much, much is expected

I am very fed up of the tummy bugs and flu bugs going round! One day last week at work there was only two of us in out of ten. So how is everyone? Is it harder to eat well in the colder weather? My thoughts turn to stews and casseroles and warm roast dinners......

                    Bfast - porridge
Lunch - veggies and new pots in honey/mustard sauce
Tea - fish, veggies in cheese sauce
                    Snack - nuts and raisins

Exercise ........... well.......... I'll do something later......

Hi Sams, could you have the stew with vegs but not potatoes? My fella is a meat & 2 veg guy, where as I prefer pasta.

try searching for matt dawson receipes, he did a load of meals for slimmers on my big fat diet show and one was a roast that everyone said was yummy and satisfying.
