still been pants with the diet, still managing to not do so bad and kinda curb it. Thinking of starting again monday and getting the weekend out of way then back on the bandwagon.
imataloss, i do tai chi at a local hall run by my areas chinese assosiation, so it informal plus to be honest it the same routine to music and thiers not really much pressure to do more than you feel you can with someone obviously experienced at tai chi teaching you.
Try it if you can, hard with a lot to take in but worth it, esp with having to do so much with your arms, legs then having to keep up with the music (if were doing it to music), it so much to take in as i said but it so good for you apparently especially for your balance and general well bieng.
definatly give it a go if you can.

Procrastinator, I think 50 lengths is really good too.

Well yesterday was an okay day.

    B: 1oz cereal
    S: Carrot and cerery stick
    L: Homemade tomato soup
    S: Banana
D: Salmon, potatoes, carrots and onions
S: Small bowl porridge with sultanans and apricot compote

Out for a meal tonight so may not be as good a day but so far:

    B: 1oz minibix
    S: Celery and cucumber
    L: Homemade mushroom soup

Will have some fruit this afternoon and more soup.

I'm looking forward to Steak and new potatoes when I go out for a meal. Haven't decided yet whether to have starter and desert but don't go out very often so might just go for it.

    Hello everyone :)
I have enjoyed reading back over the thread. I find it really difficult to have time during the week,

I am still hanging in, although did have a small slice of cheesecake today.

    B: porridge
L: HM veg soup, wholemeal tuna and lettuce roll + small slice of cheesecake :o
D: Breaded haddock, carrots, cauliflower and brocolli
6 strawberries and a tablespoon of natural yoghurt.

I have been swimming and walking over the weekend. Procrastinator I used to do 50 lengths 3x a week and it really kept my weight down. I had a very bad back injury in 2007 and am just retruning to swimming. Up to about 25/30 now, but would really like to get to 50 again.

    Hi all,

So I'm back in work so hopefully will be posting with more regularity not that my summer frolicks and days off are over :(

B: 2 wholemeal toast with philadelphia mini pot (light)

L: Either soup and a small roll or a jacket potato with beans and salad

D: Oven baked haddock with potato wedges and mushy peas

S: Might have a skinny cappuccino if I have time today

I lost 3 lb this week because I was manically tidying up and gardening because we had visitors coming over the weekend and I wanted the place to look good as we haven't had time to give it a really good going over for quite a while.

Also went to see my friend yesterday and we rode 7 miles on our bikes while blackberry picking

Hopefully I can get back on the road 100% from here on in, had a sketchy few weeks but I've come out the other end at the same weight so its fine ;)

Welcome all new folk and glad to see everyone is sticking with it :)

Please don`t think of it as `being on a diet` it always makes you want to eat more. Just think of it as being a `healthy lifestyle`.
Hope you manage to get back on track.

I will give Tai Chi a try. The instructor at our gym said that it is one of the best possible types of exercise. Very good for balance as you say. It is supposed to lower your blood pressure too maybe this is because it reduces stress.

Hello all and welcome to Joaniesgirl

Didn`t do too badly at the weekend and that included a buffet at a birthday party.

However I spent most of yesterday asleep. Think I must have picked up a stomach bug. Didn`t feel like eating at all.
Today I just feel drained and light headed. Managed to eat porridge for breakfast and am thinking of making chicken soup for lunch.
Think I`m going to take it easy for a few days and get myself better.

    Afternoon All,
Welcome Joaniesgirl, good luck with your diet. Have you done Atkins before or was it recommended to you? I've never wanted to cut all my carbs out as I love pasta too much :o but well done you for biting the bullet and clearing the cupboards out.

I had a hen night on Saturday so Sunday was a write off but had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend in all and should be able to maintain a balanced eating plan now back at work.

    Today:
B: 2 Toast with spread, one had pate that needed using up the other bovril.
L: egg mayo with cress sandwich, fruit drink
    S: bag of crisps
D: oxtail curry with peas, my fella will have rice but I'm determined not to have any!

Lunch - new pot salad with veggies + apricot yog
    Tea - salmon, veggie bake
    Snx - cashew nut bar

imataloss - rest well, get better soon.

            Hi All,

The few pounds that mysteriously came on last week are still there. I had hoped that they would be fluid and would be gone by now. Very discouraging, especially as I seem to be hungry so much of the time. I have tried up-ing the protein as I thought that might be the problem with hunger but it doesn't seem to have worked.

            Yesterday was:

            B: 1oz minibix
            S: Apple and Orange
L: Homemade chicken and pulses soup
            S: 1oz sultanas/nuts
            D: Chicken stew
            S: 1oz mueslie

            Today:

            B: 1oz minibix
            S: 1oz sultanas/nuts plus a large carrot
L: Salmon and couscous with chopped onion and tomato
S: More of the salmon and couscous
            S: Melon and yoghurt
D: chicken cobbler with mashed potato (white and sweet) peas
            Probably have more cereal later.

Looks like I'm having loads of extra calories now because of the nuts, pulses in soup, couscous etc. Know that cobbler isn't good but fed up and it's cheap to make, stretches the chicken further. Not had a lot, made enough for tomorrow as well though. Before we would have had it all in one go.

            Hi All

Not been here for ages, due to busy busy work. Been (mostly)sticking with my 1 hour per day walking as per doc's reccommendation. not so good on the eating healthily - being so busy at work requires coffee, chocolate and stodgy comfort food! luckily haven#t put any weight on (all the walking I suppose).

Normal life should return the week after next. will try again then.

            Good luck all
