Best Blackberry Deal

Sounds as though the salesperson was actually saying "If you don't know what you're looking for, the premium handset for which you need a £5 add-on and for which I get good commission is a BlackBerry". Doesn't sound like you need it, so don't bother.0

you need to decide what you want for a phone,
if you want facebook & email - blackberry (love my blackberry but no point if you don't want email/facebook, i use facebook email blackberry messenger and its great under one contact in my address book I can blackberry message them/call/text/email/facebook, love that when I call someone it brings up their FB pic sad I know)
if you want a camera - maybe a satio
if you want apps - iphone or maybe blackberry
if you want a phone just for calls and texts get one you like the look of they all have cameras and internet and basic email
if you want music media - iPhone, nokia X6, se satio or w995
Pre does the same, sync your facebook account and it stores your Facebook contacts with the receptive phone contacts inc photo, email and other contact details. If they aren't in your phone book it creates the entry for you with the information stored on FB and Google, Yahoo accounts. The email app on the pre is very good, as soon as an email hits your account your phone tells you. You also get data and BT Openzone WIFI included in your tariff . iPhone is only good if you want the apps and out of the thousands there are you won't get round to using them all. I was choosing between the Pre and Blackberry, chose the pre. The Satio has had lots of phones being sent back to SE and SE have dropped in quality since the C905. The salesman tried to get me on the iphone to start with, telling me it is the best phone on the market and i had to be very firm with him that i didn't want it.0 -
actually the blackberry data could be included in the talkplan they wouldn't get any extra commission for selling the blackberry plan instead of another non blackberry planashley727879 wrote: »Sounds as though the salesperson was actually saying "If you don't know what you're looking for, the premium handset for which you need a £5 add-on and for which I get good commission is a BlackBerry". I have a satio and it's not great spec but it's not faulty/buggy since the latest software release and the camera is fantastic which is why I suggested it for camera phone
Satio was withdrawn from dealers with the generic version but not the Orange branded version (funily it was more stable!!)Yes Your Dukeiness

I hated Orange branded phones. The Satio does have a great camera but that is all that is good about it. I remember the K750i, a great phone.0 -
I was all set to pack my bags and leave Orange next month after a decade of being pretty good customers (2 x £35 per month accounts)
One of the reasons is the Orange signal is poor here and no calls can be made or received in the house. So I was going to go to Vodafone (which have good signal) until I discovered that some Blackberry phones have UMA technology which means that they will use the wireless router as a signal.
So is this the answer? Are Blackberrys the best UMA phones and what is a "BB bundle" I keep hearing about and how does this differ to "Data" or "Internet" bundles.
Thank you.0 -
its not only blackberrys have UMA there are a few other handsets
Never used UMA myself but the people who have have said it's great.
Basically whenever you buy a blackberry you need blackberry data for all of the data functions to work (email, browsing etc) if you go on pay monthly get a "panther" plan and the data will be included, if not it's an extra £5 a month. If you get a blackberry on PAYM with orange you have to either be on panther or take the blackberry plan.
The blackberry data has the same end result as any other data bundle it's just the way it interacts with the blackberry in the back end (blackberry functions wouldn't work without blackberry data even with a normal data bundle - browsing might but email etc wouldnt) which is why it's differentYes Your Dukeiness

What other phones are there on Orange? I think there was a basic looking LG available but no other. Limited on networks i.e. Vodafone and Orange only.0
