24 months
400 mins
300 texts
500mb internet
unlimited push email
£25 per month
plus £40 automatic cash back
plus £30 quidco cashback
brings it to about £22 per monthQUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -
end of contract is fast approaching and have rang orange to see what they offer me today.
this is what was offered
free 9700 18 mths contract
600 mins
300 text
bb services and internet
@ £30 per month
still not the £25 I was hoping for so still holding out, other wise will go for the 3 deal with quidco. I need to give notice to orange next week so lets see if retentions do any better.
spoke to retentions today and was offered the above with the addition of unlimited landline calls for £30, told them my "friend" had got the same for £25.00.
Orange have matched that but now my dilema is upgrade now and lose the cashback (approx £45) for my current contract as my next bill will show new tariff and will be invalid. Hopefully I can get a decent amount by ebaying my old phone (lg renior)..0 -
Just a few questions about the Blackberry 9700.
How does the internet side work exactly?
If I pop into say Starbucks and use their wi-fi, can the phone connect to that without incurring any charges?
Not sure what exactly the BB services are exactly - sort of mobile dongle PAYG service?
Orange seem to have slightly better deals than O2 from what I've seen although not that much difference. Few places doing some cashback after 6,9 etc months but it's just a matter of selecting the right package. Something like Panther with Orange might be fine as using the net on the phone will be useful especially when travelling.0 -
I just rang t-mobile for an upgrade and they offered me:
Free BB 9700
600 minutes
Unltd Texts, internet and email
Unlimited landline calls
Blackberry services
£35 a month over 24 months
at the moment I pay £30 for 400 minutes and unltd texts so it sounds pretty good to me!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Did you speak to upgrades or retentions? I would think you can get that deal for 30 pounds, 18 months. I saw someone get the following through Orange retentions;
Blackberry Bold 9700
600 mins
1300 texts
unlimited internet
18 month contract
£23.50 per month
I'm due an upgrade with T-Mobile soon but their deals seem rubbish compared to other network

The problem is I send LOTS of texts (that's part of the cost of being in a long distance relationship) and really need an unlimited plan for that and I want the blackberry for keeping up with my internet on the move so it's the best plan for me that I've found. It was through retentions but they don't have the handset in stock at the moment so they are going to phone me back tomorrow or tuesday when they have them in to actually set it up properly. I might be able to talk them down a little bit more.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I have the 9700 @ £30 on Panther 40. Got the phone free, 24 months, 1200 mins, unltd txt/internet. Its a good deal. If you don't want the 9700 you can get the 8520 for £15, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, free phone, 400 minutes. thats panther 25.ruby_eskimo wrote: »The problem is I send LOTS of texts (that's part of the cost of being in a long distance relationship) and really need an unlimited plan for that and I want the blackberry for keeping up with my internet on the move so it's the best plan for me that I've found. If you haggle with orange you can get my deal for £25. My friend did it. Panther 40, free 9700, 1200 mins, unltd txts/internet. But that's also on 24 months..requires a lot of effort and calling to learn how orange staff work.. and a bit or manipulation. It's good fun nonetheless. I got my contract at the start if january btw, so 2 months later it must be a bit easier!0
