weezl Another failure here in regards to the 'frugal hobnobs/flapjack'. It was sweet enough but still quite crumbly and a very strange texture. My DD15 described as like eating sugar and it is a bit 'grainy' if that makes any sense to you?
Not sure what to do now....When I do flapjack I use butter and golden syrup and brown sugar. Melt them together and bake, but its not until it comes out of the oven and cools for a bit that it sticks together, so maybe it needs something that is not liquid at room temperature (like oil is)?

What do you guys think and do you have any ideas???

Ok, I've found a recipe for golden syrup....sugar, water and lemons and lime. I'm going to just use sugar and water.
I'm going to then try that with the sr flour and perhaps half the ready brek and some oil......how hard can it be ;)

I just make sure that there is enough liquid in to make a pliable dough. I have some commercial relaxer, but didn't get on very well with it. Maybe I should have another go.

I make my pizza dough well in advance and let it rest in the fridge all day. This helps.

Could you try it with orange juice instead of the lemon/lime? It would depend on there being a wee bit spare from the marmalade but...
