Well, quite a few people have filled in the tea survey :T
Weezl, could I ask you to delete the links for the surveys on Post 4 ?
I am going to crack on with the new ones now, and just thought it might cause a wee bit of confusion if the old ones were still on there, when I post the new links.
Thanks0 -

weezl Another failure here in regards to the 'frugal hobnobs/flapjack'. It was sweet enough but still quite crumbly and a very strange texture. My DD15 described as like eating sugar and it is a bit 'grainy' if that makes any sense to you?
Not sure what to do now....When I do flapjack I use butter and golden syrup and brown sugar. Melt them together and bake, but its not until it comes out of the oven and cools for a bit that it sticks together, so maybe it needs something that is not liquid at room temperature (like oil is)?
What do you guys think and do you have any ideas???
Sounds very similar to mine. I have to say that I think it is the ready brek that is the problem, not the oil but I could be wrong.
awww frankie
perhaps that HM syrup might be our only way forward...
Is it salvegeable as a crumble topping?

I included a tbsp of golden syrup in mine as per twink's recipe and they were still rubbish. Using more syrup might work, like in flapjack but I'm not totally convinced to be honest.
Off to do the tea survey:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I made an oatmeal raisin bar with 2 cups oats, 3/4 cup of oil, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup pl flour and 1 cup raisins - had a nice texture - like a soft cookie rather than a flapjack if thats any use to you - was a traybake rather than cookies but been a hit with my kids so far - was an adaptation (less sugar) of a martha stewart recipe and I can post a link to the original if you think it might be a possibility for the planner....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
