haven't got anything planned for the day, so hit me! :)
    :rotfl:

there's a few new things I've uploaded to the other place that I don't think we've got nutrition for. Kitty's vegan shortbread (planner 3) is todays new offering! But I think the pie, and maybe bob's pate.... Erm, well you'll see what youve done/not done... IOIWE hasn't done the ones from there she's been plodding through the ones on here :)

    HTH :)

I really think the Bob and Shirley planner is ready to try out in the next few days. Whoopie - result

Lesley, do you have a 20-30 min spreadsheet slot at all as well today-sorry to be cheeky!

this would mean the planner being tried without a couple of the recipes having had a test, which would be a shame though :(

spanish omelette, the frugalised pasta alfredo (howlin can I pick your brains about that one, I have aslight stock issue) and a tomatoey pasta dish with bacon all need at least one tester.

I also need some bread testers :)

    I

Sure, I have to go up the village hall in a bit to show someone round at 11, will let you know when I'm back.

We were going to have the bacon turnovers last night, but DP wanted roasted chicken (on offer in the CoOp), so we had that, and we'll have the turnovers at lunchtime.

I could test the bacon tomato pasta.

Also the bread, I may need to get some silicone 'tins' tho. I have some very old metal loaf tins, 2 diff sizes, and 2 newer non-stick ones, also 2 diff sizes. When I bought each of them I thought it was a 2lb loaf tin, so I'm not at all sure what size they are!

Could someone fill one of their tins with water and tell me the volume, that might help?

    brill, thanks.

I'm back BTW, will need to go and cook the turnovers in a while. DP is happily watching the Grand Prix practice at the mo, an industry renowned for it's eco friendly frugalness - ha ha, NOT

I have a couple of recipes that may be of interest. Been costing things I do often to see if any would fit in to the pence allowed and found a couple

One is Nut Balls in Tomato Sauce from Rose Elliot's Vegetarian Cookery
    serves 4
    1 onion 4p
100g chopped nuts 51p or 13.5p using rinsed roasted and salted peanuts
    50g breadcrumbs 7p
    50g cheddar 25p
    2 tsps tom puree 2p
    1 egg yolk (I use a whole one) 10p
    1/2 tsp dried thyme
    tin of toms 31p

fry the onion. Cool and mix in all the other ingredients except the tin of toms. Form into 8 balls. Place in ovenproof dish
Mix s+p, some basil and a splash of oil into the tin of toms and pour over the nut balls, you need to come at least halfway up the nut balls, so you may need to add some water too

    bake at 180C/Gas 4 for 25-30 mins
these don't freeze. My DD tried once and they turned to mush, still tasty, but just one big mushy dish

served with 100g rice each and using the 51p nuts, costs a total of £1.58, or 39.5p each

might be of interest for the veggie plan, or for anyone, like me, constructing their own plan

vegan brownies to follow, need to cost them first

found the recipe here when I was doing some for the local healthfood shop, but there is more interest in gluten free than vegan

    350g flour 10p
    350g sugar 26p
    100g cocoa 60p
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    250ml water
    250ml veg oil 21p
    1tsp vanilla extract 5p

mix tog all dry ingredeints, sifting the cocoa. Stir in all other ingredients and mix well, mine looked like playdough

bake in a tin 9x13", I used a swiss roll tray, what I call a baking tray

bake at 175C for 25-30mins until the top is no longer shiny

cut into 24 squares 5p each

these have quite a strong choc flavour, so you might want to reduce the cocoa and replace with flour if you want a less intense taste

potty a tea survey would be great... If you have time, I know the other surveys are proving a terrible headache and you've got lots of work on at horrid hours!

But if you did, I basically need it to capture: How many cups a day?

Using how many bags a day

using how much milk per cup in ml

do they take sugar? how many

and also for other members of the family....

    Ta very xxx

Just ignore me for a second... Just testing this :o

Wooo Hoo... it works ... ok new post now :D

potty I just did it for me and DH :)

Lesley if I've gone for a nap when you wanted to do some spreadsheetiness, then it's the rows for yeast and mustard that seem to be yielding weird results.

Other than that, I think it's ticking along beautifully :)
