    dear all,

please please can everyone do me a favour when you next have a cuppa?

Make tea as normal, then measure your milk as you pop it in until it looks your normal colour. 1 tbspn=15ml, 1 dessertspn=10ml, 1 teaspn= 5ml.

Then please post how much you and DH have and whether it's skimmed, semi, or full fat?

Thanks soooooo much and sorry to be bossy :)

:rotfl:...well I can tell you the answer in my case right now = more like 1 Tablespoon (in my coffee that is) and the answer as to whether its full-fat is = well it WAS full-fat (ie before I did that MSE thing of diluting it down 2:1 with water):D

My DH and I have about 6 cups each but the kids don't drink any. Can't help with the milk question as we take our tea weak and black.

Ceredwin you wrote what has been nagging at me about magnesium. I wonder though if the chickens have been fed properly then their egg shell would contain some magnesium too? Also some of the other foods on the list will contain magnesium.
I feel the same way about people taking a single vit. b supplement when all the b group works synergistically (sp).

I have an up-dated version of a couple of those books given to me by a friend, they somewhere in the loft. I also came across the "let's have healthy children" book that got me started reading her whilst I was looking for some books for ds1.
    Thanks for the links.

Edit: I have just remembered I have "lets cook it right"among my cookery books.
I just found this in the links on the A.D. foundation site

I don't ever drink tea but I do drink 6/8 mugs of very weak instant coffee per day and put 75ml semi-skimmed in each. We go through a lot of milk!

I like strong tea and I have just measured out that I have a tablespoon of milk in mine. I use skimmed milk (Smart Price longlife).

I drink an average of 12 cups of tea a day. I'm a little shocked at this as if asked I would have said 5 or 6 - I've not really counted before!

DH drinks an average 6 cups of tea and takes 2 tablespoons of milk (skimmed, longlife).

He has 2 cups coffee with 3 tablespoons milk in. I dont drink coffee.

    Hope this helps :)

*Edit to add - I also use around 5 teabags a week making tea for visitors
(Still a little shocked by how much tea I drink!)

Hi there chaps :) thanks for all the advice about the tea, very helpful, keep those opinions flowing please :)

Erm, sorry I'm being dumb again, what's the problem with magnesium?

I think there's enough in Bob and Shirley's diet?
