I have just done my forms for 2 kids for Sullivan - I'm paying 2 lots of compulsory fees but an adjusted amount for 2 amounts of voluntary contributions - they are voluntary and nobody will ever know what you pay.

  • We have decided to pay the full fees this year for BHS, (£80 capital fees and £100 voluntary) as it is the first year, but I don't think we will next year as I've met a few mums who don't. To some it's not an awful lot of money but it is to us! We're going tomorrow night for the 'meet your classmates' thing and can't wait! Kingston, I shall be scanning the crowd for Kingstonish looking people, lol!
Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

Motherearth, that is typical. No doubt you've bought the Grosvenor PE kit too. When do you have to let them know by? I would hate to make that decision over night.
  • Motherearth, that is quite a nice dilemma! Good luck with it.

I paid the voluntary fee to BRA but if you feel that it would be struggle for you I think you should phone and cancel it. Schools talk about making schools accessible to everyone. I think schools think that as parents we can fork out money with no problem. In the past 2 weeks at my son's primary school I have notes home about buying p7 performance DVD, school trip DVD,£7 each, Class group photo, and only yesterday 3 separate group photos, cricket team, rugby team. and swimming gala team photos at £10 each or 3 for £20. Oh also £15 for jijitsu grading. I think they need to realise that the recession is not over. I know that if there was only one income in this household I would not be paying the voluntary contribution. Good luck
  • Well last day of primary school, a very strange day!! Cant believe her primary years are behind her, where does the time go???

Its so sad isn't it! We had p7 leavers assembly this am - I thought I would be an emotional wreck but proud to say I held it together nicely!!:D

They are in on Monday for a half day but today "feels" like their last day. Can't believe my baby is all grown up:(
