Hello All. Anyone know when the Translink school Bus Passes are given out? - and are they sent out to the school or are they posted out to childs home?

Not long now till Big School................:)
  • I'm pretty sure they are given to the children on their first day at school. I know that is what used to happen and I'm sure I read that in the application details.

For all the parents of children going to Grosvenor - did anyone pay for the sports kit (at the open night in June) by cheque? My husband and I did and to date the money has still not been lifted from our account! I'm starting to panic that something has happened and there'll be no sports kit for our daughter come September. I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same position.
  • Joanne, I paid in cash just so that it was out of the way and the cheque wouldn't haunt me when I had forgotten all about it. However I know of at least 6 other parents who haven't had their cheques cashed either.

Just think 2 weeks today and they will be there.

Don't worry - mine hasnt been cashed either. Its a bit unfair of them to leave it so long. I thought it had been cashed already and thought i had a bit of spare cash!!!!
  • The first week is looking expensive:

    Residential
    School Fund
    Friends of Grosvenor
Music lessons (in my case anyway)

Then there will be school dinners and whatever stationery we are supposed to buy. At this stage I've just bought the usual pens, pencils, rubber, ruler type of thing. I take it no-one got a list?

Thank you for this - I've just realised mine hasn't been cashed either!!! Not as "flush" as what I thought I was lol!!!!

My cheque has come out today! Oh dear 1 week to go! Anyone else nervous?????
  • We did the sorting the uniform, labelling it etc yesterday, my daughter is very excited but I am really nervous. It's such a big step for them and they aren't babies any more!
Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
    Debt free date April 2016!!!!
  • Is there an appeal process if you don't get a bus pass.Just heard of a second person who got into a grammar school ahead of my son today both of whom had lower aqe scores.I am not at all happy with special/exceptional circumstances rule as it should be an even playing field and I think it is taken advantage of in some cases. Are the governors excepting every circumstance because of the change in exam this year or is this the norm.
