I recieved a phone call from The UK Wedding Company who are dealing with all Royles bookings. The guy i spoke to was pleasant and offered to complete my booking at no extra cost. I was shocked and pleased that even though Royles were not going to my wedding, another company has stood in and offered to do what i asked for at the same price.
I think some of the comments on here are a little OTT, the company who is dealing with my booking seem to be just concerned that my booking is completed and that am not out of pocket. If all the customers who had bookings with royles get the phone call and treatment i got today from this new company then i cant see any issues and all be happy.I am too delighted that this company has also been in touch with me and are willing to fulfill my order from Royles. I know and understsnd that people are worried as was I, I have paid all my money for my order as it is only 3 weeks away. I feel that the owners of Royles should be praised as I am sure making a decision to close a business is a really hard one and I am sure that by passing all the orders onto the UK wedding company just shows that they do care. I have this morning read the statement on the Royles website and find it upsetting as another company has failed thanks to the big boys. I can relate to this as my father had to do it many years ago and the heartache was felt by all our family. The worry of letting staff go that he had employed for many years was really hard. The trade that my father was in..is still at an all time low. Thank you UK Wedding Co.
How were you people contacted???
We have been told on this thread that they have not been passed details of old/new customers!all future bookings are safe and will be completed
How can you say that? If Royles aren't doing it and you don't have peoples details (like you have said, although the posts sticking up for you suggest otherwise), how do you know future bookings are safe and will be completed?
Completed by who?
Wayyy too many contradictions on this thread!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Sorry too many new posters for my liking. Upsetmother obviously is very distressed at Royles behaviour and rightly joined to let others know, but all these new posters jumping on here to say how helpful another company has been is too much of a coincidence!
Sorry Upsetmother you may find this thread goes missing.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

While i totally agree that some of these posts (particularly those praising this new compay) may be suspicious, i think the number of new posters to this thread is down to the fact that the company has only just gone under, and failed to pass out details, leading all us upset brides to turn to these type of sites to try to find information. I started a thread on a wedding website and added a link to this thread on that, so that may also have increased this threads profile.
You need to understand that there are alot of brides out there trying to find information to save their wedding days, and try not to be too suspicious of everyone!!0 -
In response to the threads below, I have joined in Feb & YES this is real. I've joined to simply speak about Royles & the fiasco that they have left behind.
My partner & I booked Royles for our wedding this year & are appaled by the fact that they willing took our payment, which was in full, in december, knowing full well they were in financial difficulties.
Knowing that you need to close your company, doesn't come on this quick & letting all those couples down whose weddings are imminent is awful.
As for people on here who are presuming the worse from Uk Weddings.......grow up, this company have won the bidding (via the official recievers) to take on the accounts from Royles & are looking to make their money from all people who have funds left to pay & all those who will book 'extras' through them.
We'd like to personally thank Pete for contacting us & putting our minds at rest. Of course he's in it for all the other business & reccomendations but as for us & our wedding........ he's been a great help, we may not get everything we wanted but atleast they're trying to help people out.
He's even offered that if, we have to pay anything extra, we can do cash on the day - you cannot say fairer than that.
I understand everyone is alittle suspicious but we all have to be careful in this day & age, i'd like to say thanks to Uk Weddings for atleast contacting us, letting us know whats going on....guess we'll see what happens from here.
ps - they are at the trafford centre this month so all those worriers can go see them & hopefully remove some of their fears (we're worried too) but atleast this is a start to sorting our day out again.0 -

Nice additional advertising there.
If what you have said is true, then you needn'thave put any of that information on here, as ALL people who booked with Royles will be contacted by ukweddings.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I feel sorry for all those who have been genuinely left in the lurch but some of these posts are beyond suspicious, as someone said pity IP adresses cant be seen...0

That was me. Cough. Tabby77 Joined 08/02/10. Oh today then. Sigh! One post, just about this?
I'm fed up now. If nothing else it has convinced me to not use either company!0 -

I paid Royles the remainder of may balance (after they called me to remind me it was due) 2 days before the officially ceased trading. My wedding is next Saturday and I only found out through UK Weddings on Saturday just passed...panic is not the word - forums such as this and Pete have been very helpful.
I think that most of the people posting on here are genuine and unfortunatley it seems that the mess Royles have created spreads far and wide. The reason I have joined (although i don't see why I should justify it) is to see what other brides are doing in this horrendous situation and to also see if I can help others who don't have the same info as I might have.
The cynics amoung you can continue to suspect all you like. Some of us need help and want to help others.0
