Pistol, imo you should back out of this thread. MSE rules state you are not allowed to promote your own business which you clearly are. This is a thread started by former Royles customers upset at being let down, and in the OP case, the wedding date has passed so they do not need a replacement service anyway. In these situations, emotions understandably run high, and I personally would not use your company based on some of your posts here which have been slightly aggressive in tone. If there are customers of Royles looking for a replacement service, it would be far better for them to find you either directly, or through the Receivers, then for you to keep trying to state your case on here
I believe your intentions are good, but I don't think you are helping yourself much with your posts on here. remember this thread will come up in a Google search by any of your future customers
Just my opinion of course. To the OP and other posters who have lost out over Royles' demise, I'm very sorry to hear your day was compromised. It's something all brides fear, and it is very sad when that fear actually becomes reality0 -
I also am a bride who has been ripped off by Royles. We found out early enough to do something about rearranging another company, but not early enough to stop us losing nearly £600. As for this company who have apparently taken over royles bookings, i would be interested to know how they are informing customers of this fact, as we certainly haven't been contacted. As i said above, i have already made other arrangement through a reputable company who are well known to our venue (as Royles were before they ran off with loads of peolpes hard saved money!!)
I think it is disgusting and calous that anyone could do this to people who are planning for the most important day of their lives. We too have contacted trading standards and are tring our best to get at least some of our money back, amd hopefully stop these horrible people from taking any one else's hard earned money!!0 -
Yes Pistol99 I do know my facts. If a company goes into receivership it
is because they do not have enough money to fulfil their contracts and pay their creditors.
As Royles is not a Limited Company (as far as I am aware)
The receiver will be appointed if Ms Royle makes herself bankrupt or is made bankrupt
by a creditor, I have checked my information with the Insolvency office and they tell me
that the first priority is now to the employee's and their pension schemes (if any) if there
is any money left then it would be paid to creditors at so much in the pound (which is
normally pence if anything.}
I am sure the Receiver and Royles would be delighted that you have agreed to take on the debts.
I think you should back out as has been suggested.
This post was originally put on here to warn couples about Royles, not for companies trying to use
other peoples misfortunes to get business. No wonder couples are sceptical.0 -
I am really suprised at peoples comments on here.
As a company regardless how big or how long we have traded, we could stand here and watch clients lose money and be left with nothing.
Instead we are standing up and helping client and all were getting is grieve. can you people not see that we are here to help clients.
If a client has a booking for 300 with royles, they would have had to pay a deposit of lets say 50% which leaves £150 to pay. The client has ordered 100 covers and a swag. Our prices for 100 covers and a swag would be £245.00. So we are offering to the the clients event for £150 which is £95 cheaper. To me this is us making a loss not making a quick buck.
Some of the comments am reading on here are totally out order to us and feel that readers need to understand we are here to help.
We have nothing to do with royles, readers are more than welcome to contact a venue called Cranage Hall In cheshire who will back up the information i have given.
You may not be anything to do with Royles Peter but you do need to obey forum rules about promoting your business. If you wish to promote your business then I suggest you post on the referrers board and declare any interest. At the moment you are starting to sound like a petulant child and not like the professional businessman you claim to be because people are questionning your motives.
Putting my business head on now - I can see where you are coming from but this isnt the place for self promotion. I am also wondering what is in it for you? People have already lost money with Royles does this mean that they will have to pay you as well? I think that those people who have been scammed by Royles should speak to their insurance companies - if they have taken out wedding insurance, or to their credit card providers if they have paid by credit card. I would be avoiding companies who are falling over themselves to 'help' because I would be wondering what the catch was.0 -
Don't post links for personal gain. Except in the referrers section and always declare any interest.
Pete - this is not the forum for advertising your business - you may be giving brides the option of using you but as the rules state above you are not allowed to advertise for personal gain (you posted a link earlier). Have you thought about contacting the local papers in the area and offering your services that way or even the local radio stations?0 -

I recieved a phone call from The UK Wedding Company who are dealing with all Royles bookings. The guy i spoke to was pleasant and offered to complete my booking at no extra cost. I was shocked and pleased that even though Royles were not going to my wedding, another company has stood in and offered to do what i asked for at the same price.
I think some of the comments on here are a little OTT, the company who is dealing with my booking seem to be just concerned that my booking is completed and that am not out of pocket. If all the customers who had bookings with royles get the phone call and treatment i got today from this new company then i cant see any issues and all be happy.
You may think that the comments are a little OTT but the owner of the UK Wedding Company has advertised and is continuing to advertise his business on here which is against forum rules. This is not the place to promote a business however well intentioned he is.
One wonders how he got your details in the first place..surely there has been a breach of data protection here? It would have made more sense for the liquidator to contact you and not the UK Wedding Company - so one also wonders, despite protestations from Pistol Pete that the UK Wedding Company is anther arm of Royles?0 -
We have had a booking with Royles for over 18 months before we found out they'd disappeared and have not been contacted by wither a receiver or this new company who are supposedly taking over Royles bookings. What's going on? Have they officially gone bust or not? My knowledge up to now is that they have simply shut up shop and ran off with everyone's hard earned money. If they have gone into receivership, that would make it official and we may be able to get some of our money back, so any update would be greatly appreciated.0

I am too delighted that this company has also been in touch with me and are willing to fulfill my order from Royles. I know and understsnd that people are worried as was I, I have paid all my money for my order as it is only 3 weeks away. I feel that the owners of Royles should be praised as I am sure making a decision to close a business is a really hard one and I am sure that by passing all the orders onto the UK wedding company just shows that they do care. I have this morning read the statement on the Royles website and find it upsetting as another company has failed thanks to the big boys. I can relate to this as my father had to do it many years ago and the heartache was felt by all our family. The worry of letting staff go that he had employed for many years was really hard. The trade that my father was in..is still at an all time low. Thank you UK Wedding Co.0

Is there any way this thread can be closed. It is all far too suspicious for my liking. All these people that have suddenly joined MSE just to praise people taking over someone else's business. Really??? I don't believe you at all. Perhaps I am more cynical than you! I'd love to be able to check all these IP addresses.
I am really very sorry that some brides have had such horror happening to them just before their weddings and I hope they got everything sorted in the end. These aren't the things you should worry about on your big day.0
