thanks for that! They are perfect...
Ben, from what i can see from the earlier threads thevenuedresser is part of UK weddings...0 -
I know you are all fed up with this thread, but I have some new information that you may be interested in:-
1) The UK Wedding have not been given permission by the Court Registrar
to take over Royles accounts- I have spoken with the Courts and they confirm that this is not protocal.
2}I have spoken to Trading Standards and the Insolvency Officer and they confirm that although they have had calls from Royles customers that have not had any contact from Royles and that they certainly did not tell anyone to
contact UK Wedding company.
3) I have spoken to the Insurance company and because UK Wedding have jumped in and taken over the bookings they will not pay out, they say you can use who you like but you will lose your deposit UNLESS UK Wedding company cannot fulfil your order- 'A bit like closing the gate after the horse has bolted'
I have told them that I will post their answer on this website and they said fine,
they will only pay out if you arrive for your wedding and the tables are bare, etc etc!
Everyone is being put in such a stressful state wondering what to do for the best.
The question is are you going to give your business to someone who has blatantly lied to us.
We are all very nervous now about who we will choose to dress our venue
it leaves you feeling very vunerable.0 -
Thanks upsetmother - I didnt realise that thevenuedresser was part of the UK Wedding Company. We weren't getting tired with the thread per se, it was all the 'brides' suddenly appearing with tales about the UK Wedding Company and how fab they were..yada yada yada..it all looked too good to be true. Thanks for letting us know what the Courts and Trading Standards have said (not forgetting the insurance peeps either).
I shall see if I can source more reputable venuedressers but its difficult for me as I dont live in Cheshire or cover that area but I shall have a root through my contacts because I know I have a few venuedressers in my businesscard books.0 -
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank 'shellsuit' for presuming i was advertising on behalf of UKWeddings - now let me correct you, I joined this forum, as many others have, to see who had found out what about Royles & what other brides were looking to do.
'You and your wedding' is also a site running a forum regarding this & I have joined that also. Just because we 'appear' during difficult times doesn't mean we are employed by the UK Wedding company - if anything it means that genuine people turn to forums for help & advice from other people in the same situation - isn't that what forums are supposed to be for???? ......or am I wrong are they for whinging at people who come on here & have something genuine to say?? I thought all opinions mattered on forums ... obviously not.
I have nothing bad (so far) to say about the UkWedding company - we'll see what they deliver. I feel sorry for all those who are not prepared to give them go & would happily pay out double. This is a stressfull time for all people who are genuinely on here for help & random comments distrusting those posting turns this forum into a whinge session rather then the constructive help site it was intended to be.0 -
I don't think that people's personal home addresses should be on a public forum.
I don't know the legalities of this at all - but I wouldn't want anyone to post my address on here for all to see (not that I would ever do this to a bride to be, but still...)Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! This is an incredibly sad thread...people being let down, lots of contradictions and bad feeling on all sides. However, I feel posting the personal details of a person on a public forum is probably a step too far and could be breaching all sorts of rules and possibly even legalities.
Perhaps Upsetmother should consider deleting her post.....I really do understand how angry you are but please consider your actions and the impact that it may have on the person concerned...you have no proof that this IS the person involved, its only heresay, and I believe you may be leaving yourself open to some comeback, even if it has been posted on another forum.
I really hope that everyone that has been let down will find a resolution, I appreciate some have already been adversley affected and I'm so sorry that your day has been spoiled. It really is upsetting but unfortunately in the current financial climate this is happening frequently, not only in the wedding business.0 -
Hi, my wedding was affected for a wedding at Mere Court. I have since been in touch with Perfect weddings as per the recommendation of mere court and they are putting together a special package for anyone affected by Royles doing a runner. I must say they were very hoelpful and wished i had used them from day 1. They are based in Altrincham. think the website is perfectweds.co.uk. no this is not spam before anyone jumps on the bandwagon, i am just advising of who i used to get me out of this mess0

upsetmother, I'd take that address down ASAP if I were you.
Whatever has happened, nobody deserves to have their personal home address splashed over the internet.
We don't know what's gone wrong, but what I do know is they are not the first company to go under and let people down and they certainly won't be the last.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Have reported that post as inappropriate so hopefully will soon be removed.0 -
No matter how wrong people think Royles were, at least their actions do not appear to be premeditated. Posting of somebody's home address is done knowingly and intended to cause potentially illegal acts.
I would strongly urge upsetmother to remove her post.
As for the people who are giving UK Weddings a hard time for trying to help, what they are doing is a standard business practice and they should be congratulated for having the business nowse to make such an offer.
What makes me such an expert? ... my own business was forced to close a few months ago, those who imagine watching your business fold around you is fun are deluded.
If the owner of Royles is going through anything like I went through she has probably seen her entire savings get swallowed up, she may risk losing her home and she has probably borrowed and borrowed to keep her business afloat.
why did she not contact anyone?
Human nature does crazy things to people ... I certainly would not want to speak to a bride on the eve of her wedding and tell her that we cannot fulfill her order, yet by not speaking to her you are practically guaranteeing the ruination of the wedding ... it certainly is a tough one to call, yes maybe she should have plucked up that courage ... but from what I have read, that is what she is guilty of.
Please don't get my post wrong, my heart goes out to everybody affected by this and if the owner of Royles is now on holiday in Barbados ... then I take it all back. People must remember though that we are still in the depths of recession and business is a chain, unfortunately there is always a last but one link in that chain as well as a last link.0
