Please also note, that to date no weddings have been missed by royles and all future bookings are safe and will be completed
What exactly is your connection to Royles and have you got no conscience they very nearly ruined our day.
If it wasnt for the help of family, friends and local suppliers our day could have been a disaster.
I would suggest everyone checks who this other company is before having anything to do with them.
Be VERY careful.0 -
it seems very strange that theukweddingcompany is based down the road from where Royles used to be...........I will leave you to draw your own conclusions!!I used English Rose Weddings for my own wedding and they were fantastic nothing was too much trouble!0

Pistol - I dont think they are particularly having a go at you but people have been stung by Royles and don't want to be stung again and are therefore wary especially when someone pops up to say that they will cover the contracts set up with Royles. Its just sensible for people to be wary.
A wedding shop local to me went bust towards the end of last year, they hadnt been open for very long and they were inexperienced (their first business and had zero business understanding or knowledge). They didnt say they were going bust they covered their windows with windolene and put a sign up saying Closed for Refurbishment - I noticed the other day that the Mobility shop next door has expanded into their shop. As for the bridal shop - that's gone bust and there were a lot of tearful brides who couldnt get their dresses nor their cakes:mad:0 -
To princesswoo:- Lets hope you do apologise now- Yes I am new to the forum. I joined because I read about some couples having problems with another company, and thought it would be a good idea to warn brides about what has happened to my daughter. Whats your take on it? Are you the forum watchdog? Do you decide who is genuine and who is making up stories?
I am not in the habit of making false allegations, what could I gain. Let hope
it never happens to you!0 -
...By taking on clients of failed companies, we hope to gain a good standing in the wedding market. To date this has worked and we will always be here to help any client that would normally lose money on a failed booking.
So for those reading this, please that these message as they are meant. We are here to help, not make a quick buck ...
Personally I think that the bits in red say it all. Perhaps someone in the company should go on a course to learn how to communicate with customers, rather than misleading them with potentially false statements.0 -

We have contacted our Insurers but they want us to prove Royles have
ceased trading. Other than the phone line is dead, the offices are empty
the emails are being returned, and the forums are full of people saying the
same things, How can we prove it? Have your Insurance company asked
you for proof?
Hi, I have contacted my insurance company today and they have asked for the wedding venue to get in contact via letter or email with confirmation of the phone call that they received from the ex member of staff from royles. I did call the insurance company the day before our wedding to let them know my concerns regarding Royles but the best they could advise was to get another company in, if Royles had turned up on the day then i would have been out of pocket as i would have duplicated everything. The insurance company would only pay out if Royles never turned up and have indeed gone bust.0 -
Am aware what concerns brides have etc, The UK Wedding Company has no connection with Royles at all. We have been working hard over the last few days to make sure no brides lose money and have a solid booking. As a company we are going to lose by doing the extra jobs but we will gain the respect of brides for completing there orders
As for failed events, anm not aware of any but if there has been and sorry but we only started dealing with this on monday this week.
As for us being Royles re-branded. Please feel free to check on the companies house web site and you will see we have been trading for some time.
Am here to try and help so would be nice if poeple support what we are doing instead of slating us.
Thanks
Hi Pistol
I have checked companies house and you have only been registered for just under 24 months, i wouldnt call this some time???
This is also really odd as we have checked Royles credit file and this appears to be the time that Royles started struggling financially. I will be digging deeper in to this.0 -
''there's a thread on moneysavingexpert.com about Royles and there was some accusation that my sister (who posted about her wedding on there) wasn't telling the truth.''
Never once did i accuse anyone of lying, all i said was that it was a little odd, as sometimes things are on the boards where newbies are concerned, this isnt intended at you (OP) but newbies like to take us for a little ride sometimes and the way the thread was started and then quickly followed by another newbie is how these things get going. Which was quickly followed by another company grabbing the business of let down brides, it all smelt a bit funny.
So i apolgise for not taking you seriously.
It seems i stand corrected.
However if this new company is taking over all the bookings - how have they got the booking details, surely that breaks some sort of data protection. I know i wouldnt be happy if one of my suppliers jumped ship and gave my details to someone else. Surely if they have all the details why are they touting for business on here. They would just need to contact the brides direct.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Thans for the clarification, touting was probably the wrong word.
If it was me and my business went bust i would inform all my clients personnaly of another company willing to take over their order, otherwise i wouldnt be able to sleep at night, not that i'd be sleeping anyway. Just goes to show that some people should never go into business. Especially when they rely on customer service them when its needed most bail out and keep quiet.
I hope everyone gets sorted and no-one is left out and in the cold.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
I find it strange that Trading standards managed to contact Royles by telephone, as it
has been disconnected, they have vacated their premises and all emails are being
returned undelivered.
Why would pistol99 want to take on Royles liabalities, and lose money?
None of it makes sense, now they are saying Royles may go into Recievership.
Well we all know what that means NO contracts will be honoured as there
is no money.! Pistol99 If you are in contact with Royles then show good faith
to the people you are trying to win over and give them Royles contact details.0
