Report Bank Charges successes and failures

Hi everyone.
I just received a call today whilst at work from Halifax about my claim for charges on my account. Could not take the call so they are to phone me back tomorrow morning at 11am.
Does anyone know what I should expect them to say to me and if so what should I say in return....
I so far to date got a list of my transaction for the last 8 years. Noted all the charges, added the interest accordingly and submitted my hardship case to them on Wednesday past to the complaints department.
Basically I have been charged from £28 - £155 at times for over drafts etc in the last few years, amounting to £1991.45 and this coupled with a £10,500 loan with them plus interest along with credit card debts of £2,700 with A & L, meant i have issues. Add to this 15% then a 5% pay cut in work. I asked Halifax for help a few months ago and they set up a deal to pay off my overdraft.... tho i ended up paying a hell of a lot more! Asked them for an extension to my existing loan in order to pay off the overdraft and credit card and they refused me. Basically the only thing I can do is make this claim as my credit rating is so poor I cannot be accepted for anything. They helped cause my issue currently and I would be interested to hear if anyone has advice on what I should expect to hear from them tomorrow and what my response should be...
Please give me some guidance.regards

BANK : Halifax
CHARGE AMOUNT : £1992.67
AMOUNT RECEIVED : £580
Sent letter in last monday with transaction charges etc, got initial phone call on Friday.
Got the phone call this morning and the woman on the phone wanted to know more about my finical status and then offered me the above amount to clear my overdraft and leave me £330 in credit. I did not accept the offer tho she did say as a good will gesture she thought it was more than generous. I mentioned the Ombudsman and she said that if I felt it was unfair that I could peruse the matter with them. I explained that I thought it was not enough for the hardship I am enduring and that the issue of the loan with them was not resolved at all. That being Halifax look for the payments on the 27th of each month and I dont get paid until the last day. My late payments have ruined my credit rating so much that I can no longer get any form of credit at all. She said that she would pass it on to the loan department.
In the meantime she will process the £580 into my account and then issue the final offer letter.
Is this acceptable.... I am more than happy with it as I was actually expecting nothing but should I push with the Ombudsman route?
Halifax have failed me in many fronts, not extending my loan so I could consolidate my debts with them and ruining my credit rating.
thoughts?regards

Hi
I HAVE BEEN IN DEBT SINCE 2001-
I AM NOW ON A DEBT MANAGEMENT PLAN.
THE WORST CREDIT CARD I DEFAULTED ON WAS CAPITAL ONE.
THEY CHARGED ME OVER £200 FOR GOING OVER/LATE PAYMENT/NOT ENOUGH PAYMENT.
I HAVE HAD A FEW CARDS FROM THEM- ONCE IN 2002 AND ONCE IN 2006/7.
I REQUESTED THAT MY CHARGES GET REFUNDED- AND THEY SAID I WAS TOO LATE TO REQUEST THEM- I THOUGHT 2005/7 WOULDNT BE TOO LATE- HOW LONG DO I LEGALLY HAVE?
ALSO THEY HAVE OFFERED ME A GOODWILL GESTURE OF £10
GRATEFUL FOR ANYTHING- BUT WANT TO FIGHT FOR MORE BEFORE I GO TO THE OMBUDSMEN AS MY FINANCIAL SITUATION HAS CHANGED- I CAN NO LONGER WORK FULL TIME.
ANY ADVICE PEEPS?

Hi all
This is my first time posting on this thread for a long time.
Here goes.....I have had numerous charges over the past few years, I have a student account which was at its interest free overdraft limit of £3000 (yeah I know!) However, when I asked for my limit to remain the same after it was reviewed I was declined due to the amount of charges I'd received, therefore it was reduced down to £1200.. Now, clearly I was in no position to pay back £1800 straight away and basically they said there's nothing they can do!
I have wrote an email and letter to the CEO on monday explaining all of this, saying the charges have basically hammered me the past couple of years (some for like spending £4 and then gettin charged £28-35 for it! I also said that I was worried about being in more debt and it affecting my credit score etc..I really do feel that I have been stung by the bank and I cannot possibly pay back the £1800 so I will now be getting charge unauthorised over draft fees each day, so it will culminate into more and more debt each day!
I haven't heard anything !! And I have previously read that others heard something straightaway..
Does anyone have any advice, what should I do? Should I still go down the route of sending initial letters etc? I just feel like its going to keep snowballing, and that's why I wrote to the CEO, antonio.osorio@lloydsbanking.com
Does any1 know of anyone else I can contact?
Many thanks everyone

santander
claimed £450
They paid £70 then another £390 2 weeks later! total £460
hi
i also emailed the CEO of santander, a few weeks back. (21st July).
after being passed via email to 3 different people, they eventually gave me £70 back as good will! - i had asked for £450!
anyway i got the final response letter from them, so i filled in the FOS form and sent it off, this was 2 weeks ago.
out of the blue this monring i got a email from santander again, RE my oringinal email sent 21st July, saying they had tried to call me again but could not get hold of me, and that they would be sending a letter in the post - interesting i thought!
i have just checked my online back account to see they have paid another £380 into my account!!!!! thats £460 in total!
i have no idea if this is to do with the FOS letter i sent off, or just someone else at santander looking into it, anywas im very happy!0 -
hey Fudgerella
thanks for your reply. I sent my email and letter on Monday 15th August, i gather that I am being too optimistic in hoping I hear something in a few days. I have asked for my statements, so I will count up the charges and send the initial letter aswell.
I also emailed the CEO again on Wed saying I was disappointed that I had not been contacted yet etc.
What did you say in your email? and did you subject it specifically?
I am assuming it will have been received, shall I send it again do you reckon? So they know I am not going to simply give up.
