Reading others posts I think I should shut up, take the money and run!
Still shocked.

I am currently thinking of trying to reclaim my charges from Barclays.
We are struggling to get by every month due to charges snowballing.
I was filing all my charges yesterday when i realized I haven't received a single bank statement since mid December 2012!
However on the letters containing the charges it quite clearly states...
"We will not charge this fee amount to your account until at least 14 days after the date of your next statement"
The fee's have been taken from my account already, but as I have not had a statement since December I do not know when they are due to be taken from my account so they are kind of unexpected if you know what I mean.
So does anyone know if they have to provide you with a statement before said charges are taken from your account?
I really dont know where i stand on this one!
Any replies would be greatly appreciated0 -

I suggest you contact the bank to ask what's happened to your statements.
If they say they were sent, I suggest you complain to your local Royal Mail office and even possibly the police.
Sadly, theft of mail is not uncommon...

Have just heard that Halifax is going to refund my bank charges. I claimed £1200 and after a fight and threats of court action they settled with £800. I am really happy with this. Thanks for all the great advice.:rotfl:0

any advice please? had £900 charges applied over 2 years. nationwide have agreed to pay back only £140 and are refusing any more. have written to the ombudsman but heard nothing back as yet. have payday loans which cant be paid, other loans, no savings, lost job last month, surely this all counts as hardship yet they will only pay back 3 months worth of charges, unfair!!!0

Hi and a big thank you to Martin for his advice.
I copied the letter for charges and sent it to 2 credit card companies who, although said their charges were fair, as a gesture of goodwill returned over £200 in charges.
I contacted the Halifax regarding a PEP mortgage I had for four years from 1998 to 2002. I discovered it had PPI on the loan which I never take out and also I questioned whether the PEP mortgage was the best deal at the time.
I received a cheque for £1800 thinking that was the total claim.
However several days later I was informed that was for mis selling PPI and the mis selling of the mortgage was a seperate claim. I have now received another cheque for over £3500.
Wouldn't have done it if I had not read about it on this site.
Just received another cheque after I complained to Lloyds about charging for ending my loan early.
In the letter they say they were right to charge but could not prove if this was explained to me at the time so as a gesture of goodwill are returning the £112 charged.....
Thanks once again to Martin and his team. :j:beer:0
