Oasis bags are very worth it
I have several and have had a couple of them about 4 years and they are still in fab nick, admittedly not used as much as your raspberry one (which sounds lovely my fav colour !!)

This is probably terrible advice, but I channelled my shopping habits into food shopping. At least when I buy a ton of food it all goes to use in the end.0
-
Hyper - good suggestion, however, isn't that just going to make the problem worse? I mean, more food shopping so therefore the waiste band gets larger, therefore you need to shop for clothes too, and the idea of stopping shopping is stopping spending as much money, just buying something else isn't really stopping the shoppaholic ways. Unless of course you mean you channeled your efforts into buying fresh fruit and veg for cheper than the normal supermarket prices and put effort into researching cheaper alternatives and getting them, woohoo for you!Learning to be 'good with money'0

I find posting my buys is helping too, though I think I will fail the clothing challenge. The shoes are I sent for are not a good fit so sending them back, plus a top I sent for which doesn't suit me, so only keeping a belt. However did by 2 long sleeved t-shirts in the Sainsbury's 25% off sale, but I did need a couple more. Looked in the new local charity shop but didn't buy anthing! Hope you feel better soon Angela.0

wow, ladies you have been busy
finally caught up with all the posts...too many to reply to, but you all seem to be doing well.
today WAS  going to be a NSD BUT:mad: there were a few bit i won on ebay(which were 9 day listings) that i had to pay for...£120 lighter:eek:
Clothes againi brought one bundle for my dd and most of it was too chavvy for her-even tho designer, gutted...£75 and i've relisted it too...but not at that price due to high listing fees.
also just paid £50 off my outstanding council tax bill but that was a must spend! no money now until Friday-when i get my housekeeping off bloke...i've got £12.37 til friday, can i do it???
SICK TO DEATH OF SALES AND OFFER EMAILS!!! Evans, Baretts, Asos, DP, argh all offering me 'savings' on stuff i didn't want when full price but i MUST own now it's reduced:mad::mad::mad:
i'm really cracking under the pressure...been so down the last 8 days, due to Moo breaking her arm etc...so i spend spend spend.
Bloke pulled me up about it on sunday whilst in Sainsburys...i did 2 food shops in Jan, coming to £430...and we needed to go in for a few things 'a full trolleys worth' and he kept saying 'you said we weren't doing a shop in feb:mad: , i can't afford all this...he had £180 in his wallet and won't use his bank cards - he doesn't have any debts or credit cards just the mortgage. he's a professional and very MSE.:D
the shopping came to £146 so i saved face a little but still annoyed that i needed to do it after spending so much last month:(:(
anyway, how are you all doing today? Angela sorry to hear about the abscess, YACK!:( xxHoping to of finally learned my lesson...slowly but surely0 -
Just a quiiick post as I'm in a mega rush, but been shopping all day... returned the £49 coat, got a £25 refund on boots and a £7.99 credit note for a top I bought ages ago (lost receipt but they were still selling it so I the full £7.99 on a giftcard)
Not sure if I stuck to my £50 budget though, but whatever I spent was LESS than the amount of stuff I took back, so I'm pleased. Actually, I found myself in Primark with a basket full of undies and tops and I put them all back and walked out with nothing, not even any accessories. Just kept thinking to myself 'think of how bad you're going to feel when these fall to bits and end up as more clutter'.
Will catch up on the thread later... and tot up how much I spent too, then reveal all0 -
Glad you had a lovely day Completelylost
Shall look forward to the full account later
Velocity - I think those websites are like magnets getting us onto the website, then the magnets jump out of the computer and onto our purses! lol
Well...
Todays Budget was £5
And I have not done well
Went to a job interview today, cost £4.80 on bus, then I found a lovely little cafe had a amazing italian hot choc and a baileys chocolate for £2.30 then I had a wonder round, managed to find two boxes that I needed to keep bits in for £4 so these was sort of necessary :S but I was still hungry :O lol so i went into yates had a chicken melt £1.99 and a glass of coke £1.20 - £3.20 for dinner, now that aint bad! Also brought some candals to go with my mums new oil burner for mothers day (50 t-lights for a pound from john lewis, not bad!) and also I have decided I am going to be making my neice a girlie hamper for her 4th birthday in June, and brought a headband today (gorgeous pearl one :O with a sequin bow) 1.50 from primarni.
So total spend = £16.80... which to be honest, to say i went into Nottingham, and after a job interviews normally my time i buy what I shouldn't, I did fairly well
Not going to meadowhall until Sat now, so could reallllly do with 3 days of £5 spends just to balance today and yesterday outLearning to be 'good with money'0 -
I have just tried a dress on I brought last week, thinking how lovely it would look. All week I've been thinking how fab i will look in it, now its on I hate it
Does anybody else do that, mentally try clothes on, so in their heads they suddenly look 2 stone slimmer, and everything just looks wonderful? I always do it, then when I try on.. how disappointing! In the past, especially in this sort of case when the item was only a fiver id have kept it, but tomorrow, even though i've lost the receipt and it will have to be a gift voucher, it is going back

Hi all
Thanks for the commiserations about the tooth - I couldn't sleep at night and got up early. Then fell back asleep and got up after 1pm  so felt totally out of sync and didn't go out as the weather was really bad at that point. So a NSD.
I had to laugh at your comment Completelylost - " going to have an early night to go get up and go shopping"So if you're returning the boots that means you'll be looking out for more? Did you need more underwear when you shoved them in your basket? I'm guessing no, that's why you returned them.Well done.
NGlady - it's interesting to read what people are eating and how they spend cash in the day. Is the chicken melt like a panini?
Velocity girl - I wonder how much you spend on 'must haves' on Ebay in a month?
verynewmoneysaver - how much have you saved since starting this challenge?
HyperAngel - I tried spending more money on food in the past, but it seemed to be a one week wonder for me.
Sales addict - how are you today? Why are you eating so much?
Mags how are you?
Hi to everyone else0 -
Lol sorry maybe I do give a little too much detail haha. Nope it was a chicken breast with bacon and melted cheese and chips
not bad for £1.99
I am so glad I avoid ebay, I think i could get in serious trouble on there. I need to get into the idea the odd pound or two actually does count, which at the moment im still struggling on, so I think ebay where most clothing items are a pound or two would be rather dangerousLearning to be 'good with money'0
