Needed a new small black bag, so had a look in charity shops and found a nice BHS one for £4. Haven't yet received my first swap from big wardrobe though the second one has come. The lady said she'd posted some time ago so getting a bit worried. She has lots of good feedback so it should be okay. What happens if it doesn't arrive?0

Please PM me with who the member is so that I am able to give you more detail of whether theres anything on the forum etc about them being a "swap lifter"
When did you agree to this swap?
What date did she say she posted?
Don't worry just yet about what happens if they don't arrive. If they don't theres mods who you can speak with who will deal with it for you.
Well. I have completely gone off budgetHowever, a lot of the reason I did go off budget was pure necessities.
So todays budget was
£5.00
I didn't have any breckie, too busy learning to cook lol. so spent £4.20 in KFC :O
£1.30 on buses.
£8.80 in Asda. I needed a few items (We women should get grants for being female!!) But I have saved an absoloute fortune by doing it on the 4 for £3 dealSo that included £0.95p for Bubbly hot choc
A sure roll on deoderant which should have been £1.49, 3 packets of always, this should have been about £4.50 2 bottles of nailvarnish remover should have been £1.80 3 packets of razers which I guess would have been about £4, some tooth paste which should have been £2.60 and some hand soap which should have been about £2.00 so overall whilst i've blown the budget its been worth it
Total £14.30
I really think this forum is doing me some good. I mean in the past, I wouldn't have given this £14 much thought. Now though I was walking round asda really considering my purchase and whether I should buy like this, or buy as I go along. I also had in the back of my head that I will need to come on and admit to my purchases, which is good, I put back 2 tops :O
Ladies.. hope nobody minds me using this to reveal my expences? I really feel its stopping me just splurging oh its only a fiver there, a tenner there.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
NG, is that Nandos in Meadowhell, or the one on West Street? Either way you prob aren't far from me lol.
It was the Derby Westfields I had the complaint aboutBut we're going to the Meadowhall one on Thurs
I went on a first date to the West Street one start of December(Lol nandos for a first date, he was a fellow MSE'R ... very MSE!)

maybe 'cause I don't have much feedback. Keep with it chick, make sure you come say Hello on the forum, I found I didn't get many swaps either until I really involved myself with the site
Good luck with sticking to your £5 target.
I'm going out with my mum tomorrow Isnt it lovely having a day out with MumDoesn't happy half enough! (shopping, but mainly to return stuff! Yep I have lots of that to do too
I have decided to return some boots and another shrug in favour of a dress i've seen
) so hoping I can spend less than £50 Im hoping my shop doesn't come much more than that, thankfully I have some vouchers
. I haven't been proper shopping for *ages* and I'm going to look for some nice basics Good idea, im hopeing once i've actually got Money again, that I no longer waste money on £5 bits and bobs and buy very nice staple items
rather than the usual £2 rubbish I buy from Primarni. I would really like a new bag as mine is actually falling to bits (I have had to cellotape the back of it as the leather has torn, lol). Theres some fantastic bags in the end of the sales leftovers at mo
I have quite a few nice bits from ebay actually. Mostly plasticcy vintage stuff but still nice... But I find that it's often more expensive than the stuff in the shops. Or I get caught up in a bidding war and end up paying over the odds for stuffI know thats why I try and avoid Ebay to be honest, doesnt feel like 'real' money?
This morning my boots arrived and (fortunately???) two of them don't even fit, and they're the ones I really liked! The pair that *do* fit are a bit too loose on the ankles so not sure what to do about those.... Return themHave some fun buying some new boots in the sale, debs have got some great en's at mo I think I'll try them with my other jeans that are in the wash, and see if they look any better. Bit gutted that the ones I like don't fit though
But oh well...
Right, I'm going to do something useful like make my bed or something. And clear the mountain of clothes that are lying around. Ugh.Yes I did a lot of useful things like that today)
That post was so similar to how I think :OLearning to be 'good with money'0 -

Would you use all the stuff. Is it an investment in the long run?
Am I being a bad influence on you?:o0 -

I went to Nandos for the first time last week.
I couldn't get over how reasonable it was for a family of four and how lively it was. It was the one at Lakeside in Essex and it was packed with such a diverse crowd. I will definitely be going again for our next celebration. Whenever that may be.0 -

Lol I have never been to Nandos as I don't like chillies.... but as I work very close to the West Street one, it made me laugh.
NG, I certainly feel that this thread is helping to keep me from becoming the shopping monster I have been, so it must be doing the right thing. You just keep on threading (is that the right term...?) and so will we lol.
Just a quick aside, I read Sci-fi and I read an old old book but Frederik Pohl and CM Cornbluth called Space Merchants about an overpopulated Earth where everything was geared to crass commercialism... things like partworks where you can never get the final parts... "limited edition" collections that would never be worth the money paid out.... sound familiar? Even knowing that, I still fall for the "Limited stocks, get it now while you can" mentality!EJBG2001
