    Well...
I have to say im pretty pleased with myself. Im going on a 2nd date tonight and went to have my eyebrows waxed earlier, was wondering round newlook waiting for my lift and I was literally standing in queue with a dress I thought I just had to have for tonight. Its black and white spotty with a love heart cut out back :O But I managed to stop myself :) So this thread is really working for me :) For the first time in years I looked at it and made myself justify the dress and exactly what I would wear with it, and I couldnt :) So that would have been £28 down the swanie :)

Not a clue what to wear tonight now lol.

    NGlady: well done! :T
I hope your date goes well tonight. I'm sure you must have something lovely in your wardrobe that you can wear instead.

fedupandskint: it's good to hear people can change their buying habits. Sounds like you have come a long way.

I have just got in. Only went to the supermarket... I spent £6 on food (some junk :o), £2 on some bracelets which were half price as I need some new accessories to make my old boring stuff look more fashionable. Oh, and £1 on a lottery ticket. Altogether spent less than a tenner so that's good.

SA, just wondered but guessed it might be this. Don't think there's much wrong with putting a certain image out there, just not great if you have to keep shopping to do it. Do you wear all the stuff you buy? X

Hi everyone, welcome to the new members

Managed to avoid any unnecessary buys as I bought bags of change with me. Bought 2 leather cushions brand new in the charity shop for £2.45 each . They don't go in my lounge but I want to cover them as buying them new was cheaper than buying cushion filling. Also bought a long sleeve coral t-shirt (M&S) for £1.75. Tried on loads of clothes as I want items that fit as opposed to just hanging up as ornaments. Nothing fit..

Salesaddict and image. I was thinking about your post and it led me to remember how I was before I married - I led a jet set type lifestyle and expected the same when I got married (and moved across the country). However, it was the loneliest life imaginable as ex hated socialising and I felt completely alien as I was surrounded by country yokel types and I was really overdressed!

The only time I felt ok was when we went on holiday and fitted in clothes-wise as we went to some really nice places. Even though I finally made some friends it was very uneven because they didn't have money and I was paying for everything.

So I started buying every gadget imaginable. Mind you, how that was supposed to help, I've no idea! :(

Someone asked about drinking etc. I live alone most of the time, the only time I ever go out to pubs is with my children, don't smoke. My socialising is family, craft club or accidental meetings with people I know up the shops or in cafes. So I suppose there isn't any other vice to spend money on..

NGlady - hope you enjoy yourself this evening

I do Souk, I give everything it's turn. But I do have so much. I am trying to cut down but it's not easy for me. I want to be the type of person who shops in their own wardrobe. At least for the next year anyway. But I keep failing.

You know what Anglea, living in the country like that and not having the occasion to wear nice clothes would completely do my head in. It would be Dh's idea of heaven and my hell. We often say if we won the lottery I would head straight for the centre of London and he would head for an island off the coast of Scotland.

good evening everyone... today shopping day for me.
i went to new look and they had so many lovely dresses for £4.99.. i could not resist them.. but then i thought and instead of going to pay for them, i went to the dressing room... i only took 2 beautiful summer dresses... so i have spent £10 today... i am in a summer mood lately ... so i am getting ready for it.... i have lost a bit of weight too.. so everything is good :)

i should mention that i do not wear dresses often ( i started last year), but i do when i am on holidays but i only own 2 that i really like...and i never buy them in the summer cos the are so expensive !.. holidays sorted !,, I am going to Malaga at the end of April.

I'm spending my evening listing new Bigwardrobe items :)
Also made a decision, brought some boots a couple of weeks ago from Debenhams. Size 7 fitted in the store but there really quite loose and i think there going to get sluggish. I've lost my receipt so going to return them and take whatever gift voucher they offer instead, better to have a few pounds on a voucher than some boots never to be worn :)
