Woohoo!!! My car is fixed. hank goodness. i was starting to feel trapped here. Didn't even ask how much- not that it matters i'll just have to pay.
Frog- So glad your son's ok for now. Must be a relief. I do hope he has better health in the future. it can be so debilitating. You'll just have to burn the midnight oil and get stuff sorted when you eventually get a minute.
I am thinjking i shall- go get my car, come back here for the afternoon- get my nails taken off (decided not to have them redone £25 a month extra to sort out huge cc bills), see a friend if she's home, go back to mine- relax and pack up for xmas day then make my way back here late tomorrow afternoon then go home monday/tuesday. i need some space i think. I'm getting moody now- too much bonding does that to me!
@Anglea- I would have loved to be out last night- i was just sat here while the parentals went out to a party- they left the car there and got a taxi back! And i called my friend for about an hour and that was it.
Just had 2 slices of toast and 2 slices of pizza for 'brunch'....not sure if that counts as watching what i eat. Not going to have anything else until supper besides maybe a mince pie! No fun food here (which is part of the reason why i'm going back to mine!)
Enjoy your lunches/outings. i'm off to fetch my car!Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Frog, do you think your son will be out of hospital for xmas? I hope so.
Ang it sounds like you had a lovely night. I often think of you ladies in certain situations, too!The pub you went to sounds a bit like one my mum goes to. It had a carvery attached and when they go at night, they often dish out the remains to anyone who wants any, hehe.
Ziggles, glad you got your car sorted. I hope the bill isn't too painful! FWIW I think you did the right thing not getting your nails done. I know professional looks miles better, but there's so many things you can get now to make them look better and they cost a fraction of a proper salon job. That said, I was blessed with good nails and I know others aren't.
Off out to the shops - necessity, rather than for pleasure. Though our town doesn't have much in the line of shops so I can't see it being very busy anyway. Most peeps head for the city.
Oh and as for not being very xmassy... I guess it's always been a bit like that. My dad isn't "British" anyway so never understood it, plus to me it has lost its shine in the last few years for various reasons. I sound like a right grouch but to me it's just another day. That's not to say I don't agree with others celebrating it - each to their own0 -

Hi All
Anglea - I am exhausted. Had lunch out and then shop after shop. All presents bought now, but went to Sainsbury's (small one in town) didn't have the coleslaw I wanted, or the milkshake or the chocolate. I could probably have gone to the larger one and got everything I needed there! Oh well. Spent far too much but at least it is over.
All I want to do is sleep now. I have booked in for a haircut tomorrow at 9.15! so no sleeping in for me so I have to get an early night tonight. Have to cook something tonight to be picked up at lunch time tomorrow by my daughter and I still have all the presents to wrap and the tree to put up. Can I cancel Christmas [STRIKE]this year[/STRIKE] next year?
Ziggles - must be a relief to have got your car sorted out. You are right, sometimes you just have to accept the cost and not fret about it.
I worry so much about my son, the last few years it has been one thing after another. His consultant wanted him out of the hospital asap in case he caught one of the many viruses going around there.
CL - Son came out of hospital yesterday and hopefully he should be fine for Christmas and New Year. Not Rachmaninov

OMG, you're right LOL
I've had all the days mixed up this week already, before the drinkI forgot to pay the milkan today as I thought it was Thursday. and he always calls on a Friday.
Just been on the phone with MM and he's ringing me back in a minute before I go out again.0 -
Hi all
Presents all wrapped - if I was exhausted before I am dying on my feet now! But it will be the first time for years I have not had to wrap on Christmas Eve. Living room looks as if a bomb has hit it.
Just need a drink then I am off to bed. I really need to sleep, have not slept well for days now.
No contact from Bym for days - I have not sent any more texts or messages to him. When I do hear from him, I want to ask him why he doesn't answer my messages when he gets them. Not Rachmaninov

We wrapped a couple of things (for my younger sisters) last night. All the food shopping is in (nothing more than we usually buy, but enough to last us about a week), so no need to brave the shops for a while.
We ventured into Asda yesterday (biiiiiig mistake) and people were going mad. You would think the shops were closing for a year, not one day! Backtracked and ended up getting a few bits in Aldi instead, where it wasn't so crammed with crazy people ramming their trollies into your ankles.
Not sure if it's the time of year, but I haven't been sleeping great either. My mum pointed out the black rings around my eyes this morn... nice of her... hah. but she's right, I do look awful. I get the worst black rings around my eyes - dunno if it's partly to do with my heritage, or if I'm just unlucky! And I hate concealer as don't like the caked feeling it give you.0 -
Hi all
That's it - not going out any more today
If I had my way it would be Christmas dinner here tomorrow, but at least I don't have to cook. Saying that I made 3 Christmas nut roasts last night.
I feel so much better today though, even though I had to get up early to get my hair cut. Really pleased with it, even thought it was really just to have enough cut to get rid of split ends etc. My hair is fairly thin, so guy used thickening product on it, and it looks so much better and used straighteners on it too.
Just been back out to get salad, cheesecake and cream for boxing day. My eldest daughter came over, she was pleased that I seemed much better than yesterday - she said she thought I was going to cry on the phone. I was wrecked then, but seem to have recovered.
CL - I don't know what the matter is but I have spoken to so many people that don't seem to be sleeping well. For me it is quite long term, but I usually manage to deal with it.
Anglea - today is Saturday, and it is Christmas day tomorrow - in case you haven't sobered up yet!
Ziggles - last heard you were picking the car up, hope all is well with it and you have returned to the fun food. I can eat chocolate tomorrow, after about 6 weeks of resistingNot Rachmaninov

Hi all
I will have to reply properly later as my day went totally out of sync because of the
Never again.
I'm due out again for a large meal at mums in 30 mins and look and feel wrecked.I can't even wash my hair I feel that bad.
It was a fun day out but not worth the suffering afterwards.
Strangely enough ex came over this morning and seemed a bit unusual, turned out that he had a bad headache from drinking the night before.
So you were right Ziggles, that I would be overdoing it if I continued.
In future it's going to be bottles of water, ice and lemon for me.
