Frog I sometimes think that getting up early is the best way... I have been lying in past 11am for a while now, and still I seem to feel shattered all day. It's a hard rut to crack out of!

Glad to hear that your haircut turned out well It's always a confidence booster when your hair looks nice.

Ang, I hope your hangover (? I'm assuming!) clears before xmas. I remember being 17-19 and drinking soooo much and it never affected me. Now I have a couple of bottles of cider and alcopops, and I feel sick for the whole of the following day. It always makes me regret drinking - plus I really shouldn't be drinking anyway :S

Yes, CL it is a hangover, seriously bad timing. I don't remember the last time I ever had one as bad as this in years.

I've got lot to do tonight and all I want to do is sleep.

I don't think you'll be reading about me drinking next year, I think this episode will put me off for good.

Can't believe the day has finally arrived.

I went to bed early for me - 11pm - and feel more tired than normal.

Not quite caught up with everything, tree only partly decorated. oops!

I brought up my family as vegetarians - my ex husband became vegetarian after we married and has remained so. My children ate meat as they became adults, but my son changed back again - but his wife is allergic to nuts and he doesn't ask me to cook a nut roast. However my girls love to eat it at Christmas.

I'm hoping my hair still looks good after I have washed it

Hello again

I've got some extra time as I forgot that this year I'm doing things a lot simpler, so I don't need the mad scramble at this time like normal. Very relaxed atmosphere instead.

First year without a tree or decorations wonder if anyone will notice.

Hope you still like your hair FR.later on. That sounds a bit weird when I read it back. I went to bed with mine slightly damp and it's gone a bit wild , still better than yesterday.

Re hair. I will get someone to take some photos today and put them on facebook - you can tell me what you think. I might treat myself to some hair straighteners after Christmas.

Glad you are not rushed this year - I thought I would have lots of time as I'm not cooking dinner this year, but have had a drink with my neighbour, packed presents up to take today and the time has whizzed by. Just about to have some breakfast croissants and then maybe a few decs on tree before I am picked up. Need to find a pair of shoes too

Merry xmas Hope you're all enjoying yourselves.

My eyes are still black underneath. I don't know if it's because I didn't take my iron tablets for a few days and it has taken its tolld (never took them after drinking alcoohl as I would've felt sick). Hmmmmm! How are you feeling Ang? Hopefully the hangover has shifted by now.

Frog I'm nosey and don't think I've added you on facebook. Have re-added you Ang and have PM'd FE with my new account url. I don't think I ever did add NG???

I bookmarked a load of items before xmas, in the hope that they'd be reduced in the sales and so far a lot of them have been... But the two items I wanted most are still full price. Sod's law, eh! I really want a pair of Chelsea boots, even though they are quite ugly, I like them

Hope you didn't eat too much LOL

My day seemed to go really fast I think it's because we ate earlier than normal, I didn't have any last moment hitches like I did last year. Everyone was gone by 4.30 and I had a nap after clearing up. I remember in previous years when more people turned up they would be here until 9pm or later.

The only down side is that DS1 is having another bad time of it. I can't remember if I mentioned that yesterday he disappeared for the day since early morning, I had no idea where, eventually turned up just before we were due at my parents, he was in a state and said he'd been walking the hills..

Today he was bad again, in bed all the time until I was dishing the food up, ex had to get him out of bed.. Last Christmas he was like this for 3 weeks so things aren't looking up.

Thanks CL I do feel better now. How long have you had the problems with your eyes - is it a longterm problem if you are taking pills?

I had a test done for B12, iron and folate last week on advice of the dentist, also had my 2nd cholesterol one. After the first one I did change the way I was eating but at the end I was eating everything again so hope it doesn't show up.

What are Chelsea boots?..
