  • Hi all,

Had a decent night last night, but again, my mouth ran away with itself after a few drinks and I ended up divulging a few home truthes. That said, I was being honest so I don't really care! The meal was lovely, the entertainment was a bit naff, but all in all I'm glad I went. Maybe next time I'll actually dress up, as I felt VERY underdressed :S I was the only one not wearing a dress or anything sparkly! Never mind.

Ang, I wonder, why can't you arrange to speak with MM during daylight hours?

Also, I'm with you on the pre-xmas weight watch, though I'm a bit of a weirdo and tend not to gain weight around xmas. I'm also on the post-xmas spend watch!!! I know how tempted I am by the sales... though I have feeling that this year I'm not going to be as bad.

    Hi girls

FR sorry to hear about your son, hope he's ok.

CL, I'm so glad that you enjoyed yourself, and even if you did say something others might not remember if everyone was enjoying themselves.

The reason for the strange timing of calls and emails is that he's a full time writer, it's often midnight or later when he finishes what he's doing that day or sometimes he visits his family and doesn't return until late although at times I get emails from him when he's out..

Pre- Christmas weight - I think I'm going to have to write on my hand NO CIDER when I go out tonight, last thing I need is to get a hangover as well as gain weight.

So you don't put on any over Christmas then CL?

  • Hi guys
Just testing laptop for sister. nice but plasticy. compaq- a currys special.
@CL- good on you for not feeling bad. Glad you made it out and enjoyed it mostly. Good luck on spending. I m in no fear of that- i shall probably be spending all my hard earned lolly on getting ,my car fixed.
Twas the gear linkage that broke so can't get it into gear- apparently not very expensive but becasue i stupidly bought a sh!te rover parts are hard to find:mad:. On th plus side i thought i didn't have AA home start on my bank insurance but i did yaay- so no call out fee.
I ended up having a wee sob in bed. But today i'm just meh:o I'm tryng hard not to get into the usual spiral. Mince pies in a mo!
@Anglea- you gus need to reglarise your comms. This will start taking it's toll on you. It's like partyong every night- you're bound to get a cold eventually- yours will just be hangover free (provided you're not on the cider though:p)
@Frog- hope son gets sorted real soon. Horrible to be ill at this time of year.
Just watching christmas movies as i'm stuck here- dad's being funny about the car- never mind the fact that all the pressies and nice yum yum food is at mine and needs to find it's way here.:p

Anyhow- cross all your fingers and bits for my car to get fixed by end of tomorrow and at acceeptible cost:tongue:

What are you all doing for chirstmas?

    Hi all

    Fr - how's your son?

Ziggles I hope you are ok after your little cry, what a relief you had the AA also that your car isn't going to be as expensive as you originally thought.

I know my late night calls are a bad idea. I can't afford physically to have them over the next few days or I'll be wrecked. What doesn't help is that on days he doesn't phone I stay up very late on my own.

DS who turned up in the night has been in bed all day. He's the one that has those very low periods and last Christmas was in bed for about 3 weeks. He's supposed to be coming out with me and his brother tonight because the rich admirer was going to meet him and have a word about business matters.

Plus Ds's uncle (x's bro) is supposed to be meeting us in the pub. And of course, sod's law, its raining really heavy and the farmers locally decided that today is the day for spreading the muck over the fields. I felt sick when I was out as the smell is so bad.

So in answer to your question Ziggles, tonight pub, tomorrow pub lunch might go out in the evening but it will be early back home.. I've got some relatives visiting mum tomorrow afternoon so I could go there too but I've got a supermarket visit that needs doing (drink and last minute stuff for Sunday) as I'll be busy on Saturday..

Saturday we're having a traditional Polish Christmas with ex and my parents and Sunday everyone will be at my house for lunch.

What about you - at your parents?

  • Ahh I see, Anglea. That makes sense about MM.

I'm so tired today. I've just been moping around, waiting for the delivery men who eventually came at 4pm, by which time it was dark. I get a bit freaked out when they have to bring things into the house and I'm home alone. Is that just me or would you ladies be worried too? :S

I don't particularly put weight on at xmas. I don't tend to eat anymore than usual... we're not big on xmas anyway, don't really put up decs or buy presents, it's just like a normal day really (except the shops are closed). Most people find that a bit weird when I tell them, but I honestly don't get that excited xmassy feeling that most peeps talk about :/

Ahh ziggles we had a Rover many moons ago... nice car but so many problems that we eventually got rid. My family seem to be cursed with cars that constantly break down! I hope you get it sorted before xmas.
Funnily enough, our car broke down yesterday too and we had to call the breakdown peeps for about the 10th time this year. I dunno why my folks don't just buy a new car (they spend so much getting it repaired they could have had a brand new one by now).

I'm off to do a little bit of tidying. I bet I don't get very far...

    Hi all

Strangely enough MM and I crossed emails just now, he wrote much earlier than normal, had 2 already. I'm due out soon but need to do a couple of chores first.

He also said that he wished that he'd called me last night. He's keen!

CL it does sound a bit unusual not be be that Christmassy in your household, was it always like that or don't you celebrate Christmas at all?

First time ever, I'm not putting up a tree, can't face it.

Deliveries - I never answer the door to anyone unless I know they are arriving and usually shout through the door to ask who it is if unexpected. I used to always answer the door until I read of a bad incident in this area so don't do it anymore.

It is a very safe place to live however and a lot of people have their front doors wide open, but opening the door to strangers is something i no longer do.Of course that doesn't mean I'm not caught out in my nightwear by the postman, gas man etc :) I think they are used to me by now.

    Hi all

FR, that is very good news, so pleased for you and the family.

Last night was a very late one and quite eventful as usual, we were all chatting until gone 2.30, so much for going to bed earlier.

I was on the ciders. The pub was giving away free home cooked hot food - thankfully I only had a tiny bit, DS filled up his plate x 3 !! .

I kept thinking how good it would have been if you girls had been with me, I think you would have loved it.

I'm going out for lunch at a different pub then probably be out for most of the day, depends how I feel..Hopefully I won't put on any weight because I always do a lot of walking and I eat much less than I used to.

What are the rest of you doing? Have you finished all your pressie shopping?

Thanks Anglea. We will keep a careful eye on him. He has had an awful run of health problems recently - no sooner does he recover from one thing, when another strikes.

Wouldn't that have been great for us to have all been together last night! Well, you never know what the future holds.

I am tired, presents still to buy, none yet wrapped, tree not up - and just had a mobile call to go and meet someone in town. I tried to resist, but where she is concerned resistance is futile. I have 30 minutes to get there.

    zzzzzzzzz

    bye for now..............
