Hi all,
Anglea: well done for at least facing your misfits. But do you think you'll be able to get rid of them ALL of them? I mean, all in one go is quite a drastic step. I know I find it easier getting rid of a few items a week, rather than all at once. But whatever works for you, so long as you're decluttering that's what counts.
I'm still plodding on, trying to weed out as many unwanted & unneeded items as I can bear to part with. By September I'd like to think most of them will be gone, but who knows. I doubt I will ever be able to part with some much-loved items.
I sold a pair of jeans last week and made around £82 so that's almost enough for my next set of lessons. Also had a someone come to collect another item (£60), although that was my mum's item and she got the money obviously. So feeling quite positive. I'm listing more stuff on ebay this weekend, too. LOL - I'm like a broken record, ebay is all I ever seem to talk about!0 -
Just a quick note: -
Anglea - Yes please I think id like to go for this challange with you. I have been thinking something very similar myself past couple of days about my stuff and i am trying to loose some weight
I am also going to ensure this is a perminant change - I will take my clothes to the clothes bank sunday afternoon if they dont fit by then.
CL - least you talk about something constructive like Ebay, I just moan and talk about shopping!0 -
I am the same as CL...going on and on about eBay...nearing £900 now and counting.
Twice a week, I go through my drawers and wardrobe now, to ensure I really do want/need everything in there. I have a selection of items ready to try on again too to check whether or not they fit before either keeping or selling them.
Just hate the laboriousness of both listing items, answering stupid questions and then packing the goodies and taking them to the post office. Nightmare when there's a lot of items and the posties are always grouchy about it too.0 -
On another note, just resumed selling on Greenmetropolis and managed to sell one of my 8 new listings within a minute. Yes, it literally sold within seconds!!0

Hi all
CL, like NGlady, I will have to get rid of my clothes in one go because I can't bear to part with them otherwise.
I'm also planning to wear a different item each day from my forgotten discoveries just to see if I want to keep them or not, so on Sunday when I popped out to the pub - per una denim skirt, today a cotton summery skirt. I'll probably get a notebook and write down all the verdicts.
I don't sell online for a few reasons - helping DS out - shipping large items overseas via couriers or walking to the PO with a very heavy wooden crate - never again! I also feel that if I had paypal I would end up on daily shopping sprees.
I used to sell on trade it (people turn up at the house), but had a very bad migraine last time I was listing as I had loads of things and the computer kept crashing and losing the data.
If any of you have a spare ukelele lying around the house, put it on Preloved. I've never come across so many people wanting the one I was selling for DS. Even up to a year later!
Like FE I need to go through all my clothing drawers, the bottom two are wedged because of too much stuff.0 -
I absoloutly hate the idea of people just turning up at my house especially people I have no idea of. Example, I was selling a ring a few years ago that my ex gave me, not engagment lol, and this man was meant to give me a bank transfer to my bank account, but he just turned up saying 'he was in the area and thought he'd pop a postal note in' I was so shocked I shoved the door in his face, texted him and told him I would post the ring the appropriate way, needed a way of tracing it etc if he put a dispute in.
If only one of you Ebayers was in the same city as me, I would happily give you lots of my junk to flog!0 -

It seems that there are a LOT of scam artists out there these days, everywhere you go. More so online, when they can hide behind a screen.
I hope Fr's ok too.0
