    Hi NG,
Yes, there are rumours on this board which have already been confirmed on this board. :D
I can't believe they're opening at 5am...I love bargains but there's no way you'd see me there that time of the morning.
I know people buy for their kids etc but honestly, kids grow so fast they don't need that much!! I just got new clothes as and when as a kid...often from Gap Kids as they always have sale rails, year round.
  • Hello all
Focussing on the things I want ie, money to have a GREAT time in NYC, is really helping me concentrate on achieving my goal; ie decluttering and selling to build up a nice pot. We're talking a helicopter ride over the city, ALL the touristy stuff, and of course paying for annual travel insurance which is over £100 if you're travelling outside of Europe. It'll be well worth it; the best trip ever. But if I'm tempted to buy, as I was for example, Glamour magazine for £2, I think that money would be better spent on something longer-term. I won't remember that issue of Glamour in 30 years time, but I'll certainly remember NYC. :D

FE that is an extremely good way to look at your current goals.

In fact I'm going to try it today to think about mine.

Thanks Anglea. Not far off the £800 mark now and still got plenty to go...

I was leaving feedback for customers and saw that the stupid girl who couldn't be bothered to pay for the £12.50 Uggs or respond to emails has managed to buy other shoes from other people and pay for them since then. At least when I relisted them I got more than double that, and the lady paid on the spot.

I was sad today packing up a lovely Radley handbag I'd only used twice....but I need the money more.

How do you guys do it? I mean quit the shopping addiction?? I'm hooked and it's totally destroying me :(
Our little girl is a year old and I've had it ever since she was born. I've never been like this before, and my husband and I are both out of work, so cannot in any way afford what I am doing. He is stressed out and yet bless him, he tries to be as understanding as he can. I'm lucky, I know... I feel guilty as heck, it messes me up physically and emotionally, but still I cannot stop doing it.
We are in so much debt because of me :(
My G.P has prescribed new antidepressants, but how can I stop now????
    Anyone, please....

    Hi E

    Welcome to the group :)

Can you tell us what you are buying? That can often be a clue to the reason why you are doing it. (well it is in my case).

Also, is this habit a replacement for something else you might have done in the past? eg did you give up anything when you had a baby?

    Helloo,

    Hope you're all doing well.
Anglea - my skin has improved tenfold, thanks for asking. The rash is no longer bumpy, but my face is pretty dried out. Hopefully in time it will clear.

FE: you sound motivated. I've probably said before but I've tried for sooo long to win a holiday but never have in all my years of comping. I would LOVE to go to New York. I'm sure you will have an amazing time, it sounds as if you have it all planned out well in advance :)

My goals... hmmmm, short term is to learn to drive. Long term I daren't think about! I need to stop worrying so much, but it seems like just as I start to make progress something else gets in the way. My mum keeps telling me to take one step at a time, but it's hard when you feel like time is ticking on and you aren't getting anywhere!

ellienellie: welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about what's going on... I hope you both find work very soon, but in the meantime, do you have anything that you could sell to make your lives easier? I also wonder what it is that you're buying? Is it stuff for your baby?

Hi Ellie - welcome to the group.

First off - I wish you all the luck in the world finding suitable employment. I know its not easy (at all) I was unemployed (with exception to a couple of very unsuitable agency jobs that I was made to feel greatful for) and I know its the hardest thing to find work as the time goes on.

are you sure you are getting all the government support you are entitled to?

Are you entitled to any support with training etc?

I cant really add anymore to this that Ange and CL havnt already. Apart from, when you was a child, was you brought up in a 'catch-what-catch-can' envrionment, where you had to make do with what you can get your hands on? I did a lot of the time and I think thats got something to do with my shoppaholic ways now, that I can afford not to wear hand-me-downs now so I go overboard, even tho, whilst I can afford it, its sad to say if i hadnt spent money on rubish this last year I could probably buy myself a brand new car :( rather than the rubbishy four wheel tin can I could buy now :(

    Hi all

I reminded myself today why I joined this thread!

Today I bought 4 items without trying them on as cubicle was being used. When I got home I tried them on - very nice cropped jean - FIT even a bit large so found a belt (I thought they'd be too small so it was a bonus), coat - fit, sleeveless black top - tight but will keep, cotton thin strapped top - tight but will keep.

So I thought it would be a good idea to dig out other outfits to try on to go with tops and jeans. Before long I had everything out on my bed. SHOCK HORRORS. Shopaholic. So many misfits, so many similar items, so many with prices still attached, so many I'd never even remembered buying!

I threw everything on the bed and had to nip out to the pub, returned and couldn't face literally de-cluttering them, so just hung them all up tidily.

I've decided to go through everything again another time and write it down so I can start putting different oufits together.

CL glad your face is better. I've been having those white hard milia on mine and I had a bad idea to try and get one out just before I went out this afternoon, it started to bleed :( and it didn't budge so ended going out with a red chin with all that poking around LOL.

    Hi all

Following on from yesterday's post, I'm setting myself a quest. If I don't fit into my too small clothes by September 6th (when I plan to wear one of them) then I'm throwing them all out.

    Anyone want to join me?
