I'd say that's fate -- it wasn't meant to be. Or someone *up there* is trying to tell you something... maybe... not that I'm religious. Okay I'm rambling, but what I'm trying to say is that it's good that you left it when it was £39. That's progress. I wish I had done the same yesterday.
Thanks for your kind comments. You know we all have good days and bad days too. You today me tomorrow maybe?:)0 -
I did sort of live "in the sticks" for a long time, buses used to end at nine pm - never any on a sunday... no shops apart from a takeaway a co-op and a fruit shop... i don't particually live central now, but least im on the city bus routes, still have to take two buses most places I go though. It's so annoying, I would kill for a stint of living in the city!Learning to be 'good with money'0

We live in a large town... about 20 miles from two large cities. Our town has a high street though a lot of it has closed down so it's pretty dead - but there are still enough places for me to go in and be tempted (Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Boots, etc etc).
Sometimes I think it would be nice to live in the countryside, away from all the noise and people. There's always internet shopping.0 -

No very rarely, I like living alone, I like having a quiet house to come home to after work. But I never spend full days in the house alone. If I have a day off mid-week I'll always go out for lunch and to the shops. I spend weekends at my mother's house out the country so I'm never alone at weekends. I haven't always lived alone but I've always had this shopping habit so I don't think it's related to being lonely. I like looking good and being fashionable and that sort of requires shopping.salesaddict wrote: »The thought of moving out to the middle of the country with no shops or people around scares the s**t out of me. It's what my dh would love to do. He would live on a desert island if he could. It would not bother him if he never saw another soul. Can't think what we have in common really:)
In the city there are loads of people around but mostly they don't talk to each other anyway. If you lived in the country you probably wouldn't be more than an hours drive from a city or shopping centre and you could still shop online.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

Ye have just reminded me how lucky I am. I actually have the best of both worlds spending my weeks in the city and weekends in the country. Driving is essential for living in the country though.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

I had the shoes to match too, I love red, doesn't me as much as I would like, but nothing wrong with a red pair of shoes or bag.
I also had a phase of loving beaded evening bags  Never will understand why, I think it was the insecurity, bl00dy ex!8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T0 -

I live out in the sticks, the village has one shop/Post office and one pub! I work in a town so am able to see civilisation Monday to Friday. I avoid shops if I can in my lunchbreak as they are too busy, I usually catch up on work at lunchtime as I spend most of the day on this forum
At the weekends, I don't really want to go shopping now, I can't afford it and since August I have realised how much I spent and wasted on material things. My son is growing (16 years) and needs new clothes, I am saving so I can get him some.
I love the village life, people say hello and wave to you in the mornings (I drive a bright pink car so they know its me) and it is so quiet it is untrue. Sometimes I can sit with my book on the sofa and not hear a sound. The views from my windows are amazing. I love it!8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T0 -

It's good to have something else to focus on. Maybe you should not buy any clothes (apart from necessities) until you have reached your target size, and then treat yourself to a few nice key pieces?=============I have been pretty organised today - was up and out by 9.30am, walked into town and posted my parcels, got some money bags from the bank (as I have a load of pennies that I need to change), whizzed straight past all the shops... then onto Aldi where I only bought the essentials (milk and bread).
That's my outing for today over and done with, no straying into the shops. Though the main reason I didn't stick around was because it was icy cold and snowing so I just wanted to get home! Oh, I did spend £1 on a lottery ticket but I always do that (and I walked so saved £2 busfare)... so yeah. All done and dusted.0 -
Morocha - my tip is to get rid of everything that doesn't fit right now... when I do that I always immediately lose half a stone like magic, whereas doing that stupid tip of 'hang your gold kylie size 8 hotpants (only £5 in the sale and maybe ONE DAY you will fit into them) in front of the fridge so you won't be tempted to eat' seems to make me eat more...
Who knows why?!
To stay away from wandering round the shops I have been doing DIY... have discovered though that I am now hoarding value paint rollers and dust sheets in the same way that I used to with lipsticks...what is going on there?!!0
