I don't have too many handbags - is it just me or does anyone else find that when they get a handbag home they either immediately use it all the time until it wears out, or use it once, find that it's not the right size or colour or whatever, and then just chuck it in the cupboard, never to see the light of day again. There never seems to be an inbetween!
Handbag audit:
1. black clutch, used all the time = keep
2. red clutch, used a few times... I love it but I always feel a bit Samantha Jones when I have it (red snakeskin - sounds awful, but is nice, honestly!). I think perhaps keep for the moment.
3. green vintage box bag - not used at the moment, but maybe I will in the summer? Verdict = keep but if it hasn't been used by the autumn, time to sell it.
4. vintage clear 'bubble' bag - Love, love, love this bag. I don't use it often as it's so fragile, but definitely a keeper.
5. Brown snakeskin vintage clutch - hmm, I don't wear much brown so it doesn't really go with anything. I think it's a bit of a summer item, so the verdict is if I haven't used it by the autumn, it's going.
6. Herve chapelier tote - used all the time, but starting to get knackered. Perhaps time to replace? (have had it a decade, so definitely got my monies worth out of it).
7. grey satin clutch = used all the time, so keep.
To sell: tiny little fendi evening bag (too small and looks stupid), vintage gucci shoulder bag (again too small for day, but looks like a work bag so doesn't go with evening stuff, and shoulder strap is a weird length).
To charity shop: lovely blue tote that I used to use as a work bag that is on its last legs, has small hole, a couple of other cheap black work bags.
To buy: a new work bag... perhaps after payday?0 -

What is a graze box... and what site do I need to use the code on?Thanks.
velocity.girl wrote: »hi all, just fallen of wagon....i never go out because i spend too much otherwise on c**p!!! well had to go to post office to post heaps of ebay stuff and then the shops in the village, and the bank...soooo
i spent:£78 on postage and supplies from the post office
£15.78 in the newsagents on magazines, 2 kids comics and chocolatei'm also on a diet!!!!
and went into the bank to cancel all my direct debits for my 5 magazine subscriptionsthis is because i just found the last 3 months worth of real homes still in the wrappers
can anyone else see the irony? i've just spent about £10 on WEEKLY magazine but had to cancel my MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS because i NEVER read them...
i'm doomed....soooo depressed about it
on the plus side i have just had my FREE graze box delivered and i've got £52 in my paypal account to play with...but i've virtually spent that already...
i'm a lost cause
But anyway, judging by the amount you spent at the post office on p&p, maybe you deserve a treat? You must have made a lot from selling stuffAnd at least you cancelled your monthly mag subs first.
Ex-Spendaholic wrote: »Sorry haven't been around much. My thing is jeans. I have 37 pairs at the moment. They are all from River Island. Basically if they have a pair in my size, I'll buy them. The problem is there are so many cuts - hipster bootcut, sexy bootleg, slouch, boyfriend, straight leg, skinny. The list goes on and on.
The problem then with these jeans is they all require different footwear. For example sexy bootleg must have high heels, slouch must have something flat and skinny must be worn with uggs. I bought the Uggs first and went looking for skinny jeans. I collected a few pairs and then bought other uggs. Now have 3 pair of uggs and would like others.
I don't do the handbag thing at all.I can't just wear something I already have... But 37 pairs of jeans, that is a lot. River Island jeans tend to sell well on ebay actually, maybe you should ebay some of the pairs you wear least (that is, unless you wear them all?).
I'm lucky in a way - I'm tall so can't buy jeans or shoes from most places as they don't fit. My biggest problem is cardigans... I have a cardigan in every colour imaginable. Tops, necklaces, accessories in general, ohhh and scarves - I have a truckload of scarves!!
I'm going into town soon... wish me luck...0 -
i'm a numpty CL lol! you need to go to graze.com and with that code you can order a free box of foody treats...more info on site...you don't have to commit to buy anymore you can cancel at anytime.
Yeah i think i deserved a treat...my local library doesn't have current issues, i live in a village and it's quite tiny...i'd have to get the bus to the city to the other library so not really cost effective... i pass them on to at least 3 people after me, so every one gets to read them-mum,mil, sil, step mum etc they just swap them between them then they get recycled or sent to ds school for collages....
made a fair wack yesterday £376 on ebay!!! and i've not even tackled my wardrobe yet
good luck up town...hopefully you will have a low spend day xHoping to of finally learned my lesson...slowly but surely0 -
I had to buy some skinny jeans to wear with my Ugg boots. I bought a pair in TJHughes for £6.99. Went in today and just one pair left of them in my size, so I thought I'd better buy them as well! On the other hand I did take a top back to M & S, and didn't go into Boots.0

Haha, I thought it was some kind of storage box, I got all excited :rotfl::o
but thanks anyway - I have just ordered mine, they look quite nice. Do you just cancel as soon as you've received your free one? I chose to have mine delivered on a Thursday. But if they're nice I might have the half-price one too... hehe.
That seems fair enough about the magazines, definitely deserved after your ebay sales! My ebay sales money always seems to end up being spent again on ebayI always think 'I'll wait until I have £50 so I can transfer it for free'... but I never seem to get to £50 as I always end up spending.

Decided against going into town today because -
1)I'll most likely have more stuff to post tomorrow (my main reason for going is the PO)
2)I begrudge paying the £2 busfare when my mum could give me a lift when she goes shopping tomorrow
3)I can live without shampoo/conditioner/hooks for another day - will use the dregs of one of the many bottles in the bathroom, even though they're not mine.
4)I don't have enough time - didn't get up until 11am and am still not even ready
5)Avoiding the shops altogether means no unnecessary spends!
I'm actually going to do some decluttering today... fingers crossed.0 -
As a semi-reformed ex-shopaholic I thought I'd make you all a bit sick by telling you I just spent the last two days in London, had to walk by Regent St etc etc, and the only thing I've brought home is 3 x boxes of green tea (75p each)from Chinatown. It can be done :-D please believe it!0

Hi all
Just been catching up on your stock takes and the Coat of Doom lol
No unnecessary shopping for me today, although after a difficult phone call just now I've been eating everything in sight
Unlike most of you, one thing I can't do is give away or sell any of my clothes. That's way too hard at the moment.Even if I hate them
Velocity girl - £78 on supplies in the post office - is this for a business?0 -

Hi Anglea,
you are not the only one who can't give stuff away at the moment.
I mean I do give a lot of stuff to the charity shop or to friends or relatives but it's like a switch has to activate in my brain before I can do it. I recently cleared my wardrobes of stuff that I have not worn for about 5 years, that I was never going to fit into again, or that had never suited me in the first place. Then unfortunately I saw this as permission to go on a spending spree and cram the wardrobes full again. I won't be able to part with anything else for a long time. As for Ebay, I have an irrational hatred of it. I detest paypal, there seems to be no way to contact that organisation if things go wrong and when I did have a problem with them it cost me about £25 in premium line phone calls. I vowed I would never get involved with them again. I am a bit like that. There are a few businesses on my black list and I am very unforgiving if I feel I have been shabbily treated by them.0
