  • I think it was Star by Julien McDonald, but I've just checked the web site and it's not on there (though there's another studded purse on there, but it's not that one) - think it must be new stock as I haven't seen it before today (and I am in there often enough to notice these things :S).

edit - actually, it might've been Jasper Conran, I'm not sure.

I keep thinking about it... would I rather have the coat or the purse? Decisions, decisions. Actually come to think of it, do I really need either of them???

    Hi there,

I tried on a coat this morning in the m+ S mid season sale. It was reduced from £89 to £35. It looked really nice. But I knew that I should not buy it and I said to myself if its reduced any more I will reconsider. Well this evening it was down to £15 but not in my size. I don't know whether I feel relief at not buying, as if I had no choice in the matter. Or whether I feel regret because it looked so nice and it was such a bargain.

I have abeautiful red beaded evening bag, which has only been used once, it cost me £100, why did I buy red? It will be going on ebay by the end of the week!

I have loads of beaded evening bags, most of used once eeeekkkkkk

I love red anything. I think it is the best colour. I have beautiful red satin shoes that I recently bought and when the weather improves I am going to wear them to work, as I never go out anywhere much anyway and I don't care if I look over dressed:):)
  • Sorry haven't been around much. My thing is jeans. I have 37 pairs at the moment. They are all from River Island. Basically if they have a pair in my size, I'll buy them. The problem is there are so many cuts - hipster bootcut, sexy bootleg, slouch, boyfriend, straight leg, skinny. The list goes on and on.

The problem then with these jeans is they all require different footwear. For example sexy bootleg must have high heels, slouch must have something flat and skinny must be worn with uggs. I bought the Uggs first and went looking for skinny jeans. I collected a few pairs and then bought other uggs. Now have 3 pair of uggs and would like others.

I don't do the handbag thing at all.

    Hello,

I thought you were an ex-spendaholic?
    That's a lot of jeans:)
I know what you mean with the footwear. I can't bring myself to wear flats under any circumstances. All my heels are really high. But as I am no spring chicken I find that my feet are really aching. What I need to find is really good insoles that stop the burning feeling in the balls of my feet. Those party gel things just don't do it? I saw some scholl ones for £9.99 but I don't want to buy them until I know that they work. Can anyone help with this?

Well i've had a good and a bad day today!

    Good day:
    A) I am finally sorting out my Jewellery into their own places so I dont have to buy xyz jewellery cos i cant see i've already got it. Leather jewellery box for fine day to day peices, storage boxes for going out Jewels.
    B) Decided to return something I was unsure about.

    Bad day:
    A) Sister had operation today - ended up buying her some Flowers costing £5
    B) Purchased some new tights - but - they have really updated a old outfit as there new modern ones £2 from Oasis.
    C) I ended up in McD's

so today it krept in at £12.50, but I didn't spend my £10 allowance yesterday.

    Target time:

I have a grand total of £17 in cash without going to the bank - This has got to last me until Saturday. This includes bus fares tomorrow thursday and Friday (around £6). It includes a couple of drinks on Friday night.

    Fingers crossed!

  • hi all, just fallen of wagon....i never go out because i spend too much otherwise on c**p!!! well had to go to post office to post heaps of ebay stuff and then the shops in the village, and the bank...soooo

i spent:£78 on postage and supplies from the post office
£15.78 in the newsagents on magazines, 2 kids comics and chocolate :(:( i'm also on a diet!!!!
and went into the bank to cancel all my direct debits for my 5 magazine subscriptions :( this is because i just found the last 3 months worth of real homes still in the wrappers :(

can anyone else see the irony? i've just spent about £10 on WEEKLY magazine but had to cancel my MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS because i NEVER read them...
    i'm doomed....soooo depressed about it :(

on the plus side i have just had my FREE graze box delivered and i've got £52 in my paypal account to play with...but i've virtually spent that already...

    i'm a lost cause :(

You are not a lost cause at all. Lets have a few smiley faces for you
:):):):):):) to cancel out all those sad ones.

I would go out of my mind if I lived in a small village so I think you are doing really well. Look at all the ebaying you have done for a start.

Chocolate is one of lifes necessities, diet or no diet and the walk to the post office probably neutralised the calories in the choc.

I don't suppose you have a market within easy reach? I buy the magazines that are maybe a season out of date. With Cosmopolitan its always the same 'best orgasm ever' special, winter, summer ,or spring.
With Good Housekeeping its always nice recipes and procucts that have been tested to advise you on the best buy so I think 3 mags for £2 is a good deal.:)

This is what I was wondering about on the toiletries thread earlier---if we aren't supposed to be buying anything (and have very little spare cash for buying things with) what are we even doing in the shops? Aren't we making it much harder for ourselves? How do we break that habit of walking around shops--sitting on a bench reading a book instead just doesn't appeal to me.:wall:

Well Mags, I pass m+S on my way to and from work. Only I just can't pass it, I have to cut through. A man who I used to work with is working in there at the moment and I would rather avoid him. But even this doesn't stop me going into look at the latest stock, just waiting for the sale to start. Actually, I must look quite odd, more or less tiptoeing through so that I can look at the clothes but avoid him at the same time:)

No sitting on a bench reading doesn't appeal to me. I like to be amongst people. But conversely I like going to lunch on my own as I feel I need that me-time, if that makes sense. A bit of thinking time. But then I don't live alone.

If it's not too personal Mags, I think you said you live alone. Do you get lonely? Don't answer if I am being too intrusive.

Thanks for letting me know that - I always thought it was 50p for amounts under £50, but they must have changed it recently.

I'd say that's fate - it wasn't meant to be. Or someone *up there* is trying to tell you something... maybe... not that I'm religious. Okay I'm rambling, but what I'm trying to say is that it's good that you left it when it was £39. That's progress. I wish I had done the same yesterday.

The thought of moving out to the middle of the country with no shops or people around scares the s**t out of me. It's what my dh would love to do. He would live on a desert island if he could. It would not bother him if he never saw another soul. Can't think what we have in common really:)
