ziggles - sounds like you got some nice stuff, and things you'll need & wear so maybe you should keep them? I live in longline cardies with vest tops. Just wondering how can a cardigan be a cardigan without buttons???*doesn't understand*
OK bit of a rant from me! New Look's clothes are sooo badly made, how do they get away with it?!! I've had this pair for jeggings a couple of months and today when I was out, my mum notice not one but TWO holes in them *embarrassed* These are literally the only pair of blue trousers I have that fit so extra 'grrrrrrr'! I swear I am not buying anymore trousers from them now as the other pair I had did exactly the same - 6 inch rip across the back of the leg.
So, I ordered some jeans from Topshop and they're coming tomorrow. They're £40-ish/pair but maybe it's better than paying £25 for New Look's which rip after a couple of months??? That's how I see it anyway. I live in jeans.
I wonder how NG is, she hasn't posted in a while.
PS: I'm ditching those jeans & trainers... tomorrow.
Well the cardy thing is one of those yummy mummy waterfall type things that just hangs...no buttons- no idea what they're called
I am in full agreement with you on the new look stuff...except the cheapo vests...lovely and my boobs don't hang out!:o
As for topshop- the sizes are ridiculous though the buttonless cardy id from there in a size 14 and i'm normally a 16-18 top. The prices are even more ridiculous- see above re £30 cardy comment:eek:
But to be fair- the stuff is good quality.
Gotten rid of the jeans and sneakers yet????:)Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Ahh I know the type of cardigan you mean now - they're sort of frilly where the buttons should be
I had a lovely one like that from Asda but my mum stole it from me >:/
I got my Topshop order this morn, and I'm keeping one of the jeans although they're soooo frickin' tight it took me about 15 minutes to get them past my ankles! I was out of breath by the time I got them on, lol, I'm so not looking forward to taking them off later. But I have learnt the hard way that jeans ALWAYS loosen off after a couple of wears so I'm keeping the smaller pair rather than the bigger ones.
I've never tried New Look's basic tops. I tend to buy the elasticated ones from H&M that don't go all baggy after one wear -- ribbed and non-stretch things always tend to wash badly for me. Then again that could be due to my lack of washing skills :S But yeah, I think I might write to New Look and let them know how unimpressed I am with their trousers
Oh, & I haven't got rid of the manky trainers yet! I will though... at some point... this weekend...0 -
Well, I have to confess to spending loads of money today on a gym membership. It was cheaper for me to pay up front, 13 months for the price of 12. Lets hope I'm still going for that long!
I decided to pay in a lump sum out of my savings so I don't have another direct debit to pay as it is something I had not budgeted for.Not Rachmaninov

Evening ladies,
The trainers & ripped jeans are now gone (or as good as - sat in the wheelie bin outside!)
Frogletina - ooh well done for taking the plunge and joining the gym. The one nearest to me was so expensive (£50/month) that me and my brother decided to club together and buy a treadmill instead. If gym memberships were more reasonable I'm sure more people would be tempted to join :S Or maybe I'm just stingy... aha!
I'm soooooo bored tonight, have watched all there is to watch on catchup, think I'll have an early night x0 -

Well done CL, I'm sure you will remember how nice they were without having to have them physically with you.
The gym is 39.50 a month for off-peak which is ok for me. And it has a pool, steam room and sauna. I did 10 lengths of the pool today, then steam room, sauna, jaccuzi - then 45 minutes of aqua and finished off with the toning tables.
I'm doing an induction on Tuesday so can't use the gym equipment until I am shown how to use it correctly.

Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend. I've had a lovely fairly cheap weekend so far. Good job, thought payday was friday not Monday lol. Did I mention im going on holiday in a few weeks?
I took one of my bodyshop vouchers yesterday, and it was so busy i couldnt see stuff I wanted/havnt got tons of already so i've used some money that I had budgeted for mums mothers day and sisters birthday and used one of the £30 (£12 grupon deal) for that instead, so its brought me a guilt free holiday top0 -
Hi all
NGlady dare I ask, are you going with Deman?
Hi Frogletina, you're going to be busy with that gym membership, they seem to have a lot of facilities, not just equipment.
CL - hope by Monday you would have thrown out the manky stuff for good.
I was very strict with myself and rounded up 3 bags of books for the charity pickup up tomorrow and this included some I've been clinging to for years (they were expensive) even though there were useless to me.
Only picked 2 clothing items to give away. That is hard to do.
That's annoying about the ripped clothing CL0 -
Think up a new challenge for yourselves for March.
Possibles ideas -
Reverse list - buy at least 3 necessary items
no snacks, cakes, or fizzy drinks just for you alone (ok if having visitors)
no more books, toiletries or whatever is your worst habit to buy
finish something that has been started e.g. craft project, organising, finances
limited amount to spend on yourself this month
start a positive habit and do it every day
try something new e.g. recipe, change your routines, hairstyle, image
set yourself a weight or fitness target
Looking forward to hearing your ideas0 -
Hi Anglea -
Nope me and deman arent going togetherMight be going late on in the year though, it was a very last minute decision. Going with the olds again
Im not sure what my challange shall be this month. Last month my fizzy drink challange went ok -ill admit to having some, but not even half as many as i was doing.
Maybe i'll go for a 'tidy-my-room-out' challange or something. I am going to try and restrict my spending again this month, failed bigstylie last month on all but my clothes challange though, which I was pleasently suprised about. Think it shows where majority of my money goes.0 -
Hi guys.
Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a lovely time going out on Friday and last night. (Anglea- just got a raspberry tart from tatco yummy and i got to bring half of it home)
I think for March i shall 1. try not to binge. 2. Read my bible and pray everyday.
