  • LOL - correct!!! Either you're a mind-reader or I'm predictable ;) But I'm definitely returning them as I don't need them. Also bought something on ebay but I do need that item :S

I've promised myself a new pair of trainers as mine are rubbish, cheap and battered to death. Not as fun as buying boots & fashionable shoes, but it's still shoe shopping I guess!

Well one item has been paid for & collected already so that's good (it's something I'm selling for my brother). They sent a taxi to pick it up, which I thoguht was quite a novel way of doing things! Two more items to be collected later in the week which are my items, so I'll be £53 better off :)

Anglea - urgh, I always feel sick on country roads, as much as I love visiting countryside. But strangely enough I'm fine on fairground rides, aeroplanes & boats... not sure how!
  • Evening,

Woohooooo, I'm now rid of all the items that needed to be collected :D *is v pleased with herself* Part my floor is clear for the first time in a very long time!!! Hopefully it will never get that bad again. I'm currently debating what my next decluttering aim will be. The dreaded shoe box??? Or the junk cupboard of doom???

I'm also seriously trying to resist the temptation to buy stuff from the New Look website. They have free delivery until midnight... aghhh. Someone tell me off before I do something I regret.

I did spent £23 on stuff today, but the least said about that the better!

How are the rest of you doing with your spends? xxx
  • stop right there woman!!!!! Don't do it...If you're good for the rest of the week you can be a teeny bit naughty at the weekend but no clothes- hows about that?:D

    Hi all

CL are you wanting to declutter your wardrobe now? If so go ahead and buy what you want. If not, then STOP.

I haven't bought any more books.

I've been testing out a theory about salty snacks. The other day I had a small pack of Doritos and paid the price  my tongue and mouth felt awful afterwards and I finally realised that they must be the cause of a lot of problems I've been getting over the last year and couldn't work out why. For lunch today I got a small pack of salt and vinegar as another test and had no troubles straight afterwards although now the roof of my mouth is hurting - similar to burning your mouth on a hot drink. Oh dear, that's bad news.

Have to try another time with only half a bag and see if I get the same reaction.

But as for the Doritos - I don't think I can have them again :(
  • Hello lziggles, Anglea, and anyone else around,

Thanks for the telling off, it worked... momentarily :S Though I have been really bad recently.

I was going through my wardrobe this morn, looking for things to get rid of as punishment. I came across one pair of jeans ripped beyond repair (which I love so much), and a pair of Converse which to be frank are DISGUSTING. WHY do I find it so hard to chuck these items out??? I mean the shoes are so badly ripped and worn that my toe sticks through the top and there's a hole right through the sole. I don't even wear them. So why am I keeping them? Ridiculous.

I was watching some documentaries on youtube last night - I think one of them was called 'Tightwads' and the other was about hoarders. There were lots of little things in both docs that reminded me of myself, which was a bit of a worry. Although I'm nowhere near as bad as those people yet - thank God!!!

Anglea - it's funny you should mention doritos as I had such a problem with my mouth (as well as many other things) in the summer... and it just so happened to be the same time that I won 20 huge bags of Doritos cool original flavour. My mouth and tongue were so badly ulcerated and the doctor couldn't tell me what was causing it... I was thinking I had mouth cancer, it was so bad :o I've never touched them since.

    Hi all

You mean you ate 20 mega bags CL?? LOL No wonder you were in agony.

Yesterday I ate some coleslaw and that set things off again, checked the ingredients - vinegar. I think my crisps and salty snacks days are well and truly over.

I've got to go now, I'll be back and comment about your hoarding :)
  • Hullo gals.
    It's almost friday!!!!! Yippee:j
Well i went to outfit to spend mt 20% off voucher on- WORK TROUSERS...mine are soo shiny it's embarassing. But...you guessed it...no work clothes £70 later:o
I got a few vests that i can wear with all my cardies (i'm addicted- can't leave the house without one on), a lovely short sleeved cardy with no buttons that goes with all the vests (£30 singularly the most expensive clothing item i have bought besides a coat and some boots in the last 3 years i think), another cardy...nice cream one and a pretty vest £20:eek: but oh so pretty.
I have not taken the tags off the cardies and vest as they are quite pricy though i like them all. Will sleep on it. (keep;)).
And that is all i have to report.
Oh yes and it's a busy weekend ahead. High tea tomorrow- unbudgeted for and bring and share on saturday evening with some lovely ladies...any suggestions on quick, easy main meal or pudding course?

    Zx

    Hi all

CL I am like you I've got stuff around the house that should be in the bin. I often think that if something happened to it e.g. accidentally spilled something over it, I'd have no problems at all removing it.

Ziggles the clothes sound lovely. Have you got the bottom halves that match with them or do you need more skirts etc too?

I was thinking about your food query. A cheat can be to buy Iceland toffee cheesecake and bring your own bananas. Slice them up and add them to the top just before it's served so it looks like you made Bannoffee. Cheese straws bought or home made always seem to go down well with a bunch of grapes.

If you can carry it - a -glass bowl and put morello cherries in the base (the type you buy in juice) add some alcohol if wanted, use cubes or gelatine to make jelly using the juice. Whipped cream on the top. Another variation is to add grated chocolate to the jelly and some sponge in the base (as though you were making trifle)

On the Waitrose website, there is a very easy recipe called Tiramasu Cheesecake.

Savoury - open sandwiches on nice bread - smoked salmon (you can buy packs of offcuts) and cream cheese, thin slices of cucumber

Not sure if any of this appeals to you or not Ziggy but it's a start.
  • Hiya
The banoffee sounds great as do the sarnies. Personally don't like banoffee or bananas as a flavour but loads of people do so that'll be it.
If i can find a tin of cherries...and a big bowl i'll do that...very original.
    thanks!
As for the clothes...i only ever wear jeans/trousers (big girl) so i'll just get another pair of jeans as i have one scrappy one and two smart ones and need some in-betweeners. I will try to wear one of the skirts i own (that are covered in dust) but really jeans are me! might even stretch to a dress this year. heehee!

  • Hiii,

LOL... Errrr yeah I did eat them, but I spread them out over the course of two months :S I don't think they made me ill, but they definitely gave me ulcers.

All this talk of food is making me hungry...

ziggles - sounds like you got some nice stuff, and things you'll need & wear so maybe you should keep them? I live in longline cardies with vest tops. Just wondering how can a cardigan be a cardigan without buttons??? :o *doesn't understand*

OK bit of a rant from me! New Look's clothes are sooo badly made, how do they get away with it?!! I've had this pair for jeggings a couple of months and today when I was out, my mum notice not one but TWO holes in them *embarrassed* These are literally the only pair of blue trousers I have that fit so extra 'grrrrrrr'! I swear I am not buying anymore trousers from them now as the other pair I had did exactly the same - 6 inch rip across the back of the leg.

So, I ordered some jeans from Topshop and they're coming tomorrow. They're £40-ish/pair but maybe it's better than paying £25 for New Look's which rip after a couple of months??? That's how I see it anyway. I live in jeans.

I wonder how NG is, she hasn't posted in a while.

PS: I'm ditching those jeans & trainers... tomorrow.
