Hi all,
Another weekend filled with temptation...I'm going out this aft & eve so there will undoubtedly be some spends (though hopefully just transport and food!). I'm not going until 4pm so doesn't leave much time for shopping. I
It's so cold that I kinda wish I was staying in to watch 'Take me out' insteadSad, eh!
Ang - you and your misfits. I think part of the reason that I never buy in charity shops is because of the lack of changing rooms in most of them. I probably wouldn't buy without either trying OR being able to return it. I know charity shops let you return things, but I just wouldn't feel right taking something back to one.
I don't know what I would do without ebay, it has to be said. I can't imagine not being able to sell my old stuff... maybe if I knew I couldn't sell it, then I wouldn't buy so much?
Two big pieces of exercise equipment that I listed have bids on themSooooo pleased about that, can't wait til they're gone once and for all. And *hopefully* I'll have some last minutes bidders to bump up the prices.

Hi guys
Hope you're having a good weekend.
I'm off to dinner at the only jamaican restaurant in scotland with the parentals just now. I really want to offer to pay but i can't afford it. I know dad would probably not let me but i do want to offer and be able to follow up on the offer.
Anyhow. I did some food shopping yesterday (and overspent) but made it home without even buying a single sweety or fudge!!!! Though i must confess i was in poundland on tuesday and did pick up some supplies...but still it's an achievement i feel.
I have some tuff to put on eby too but...too lazy.
Anglea that's such a good idea getting new cushipns. I might suggest that to my frind who is sick of the ones on her current hand me down one...they are a bit worn and tatty but on a polished pine like frame. I'm sure we can even get covers as the cushions themselves are still comfy.Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Hi all
CL hope you're having a good time out. How are you getting the fitness equipment sent out - courier?
Guess what...........more misfits were boughtI'm wondering if I've put on weight. I'm keeping them because they are just what I wanted.
I did some wardrobe sorting, got a whole rail for misfits now
Ziggles I didn't realise you lived in Scotland. Hope you enjoyed the food. Do tell what you ate, it will be interesting for me to know.0 -
Morning folks...woke up at 9. thought it was saturday and then got a fright at 10.58 because it's sunday and i've missed church for the second week in a row...poor!
Dinner was nice. They need to have a rethink about their front window as it's completely open and saturday night party people passing by or peeps checking the menu can see the whole restaurant munching away! dad had jerk chicke, i had beef patties and stepmum had curried goat. All lovely, but really we can produce all these items at home. Very good nonetheless- we all prefer to ea food cooked for us rather than by us right :-)
Then we went to a chic bar and i got a drink for the parentals and had a virgin peach cocktail of some sort- £13!!!! Very nice evening and back home for 9pm. Very civilised, and i enjoyed myself
Anglea- what do you mean exactly- 'misfits' ? do they not fit a little bit like the jacket you wear open?
CL- how was your night out?Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Hi all
Ziggles glad you had a good time, are you still in shock over the drink price? I bet you felt like you were on tv when you were eating and everyone could see you.
I don't know anything about Jamaican food that's why I was interested, couldn't eat the goat (shuddering as I'm writing) unless I was unaware what it was.
What is a typical dessert?
Hopefully you'll make church next week.
Misfits - this was ridiculous because I had virtually identical items at home that were too big. But these were tight - trousers for my walking and jogging and a cardigan.
To get me even more irritated. You know I mentioned that jacket I bought a few days ago - it was exactly what I'd wanted for a long while but turned out to be small - and I kept it. Wore it yesterday in fact under my coat as it was raining.
Well as I was looking round the clothes rails I couldn't believe my eyes - the same jacket but in a bigger size. I was tempted to try it on but thought I'd get into a muddle with the one I was already wearing. Apart from that it looked huge and I was scared that instead of being too big it would end up fitting me. That would be very bad for self esteem. :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone.
I've got my usual Sunday with ex's family.0 -
Hi all,
Had a really good night last night... so much so that I lost track of time and ended up missing the last train and bus, so had to pay for a taxi back (eeeeek, it was v expensive!!!!! dunno how people can afford to go out every weekend). Still, it was a one-off and I enjoyed myself so it was worth it. It mades me think that maybe I should spend more on going out and enjoying myself, and less on shopping.
I did buy something... :S which I'll be returning as I really don't need any more! Anglea, I bet you can guess what I bought, lol.
Ziggles, I wouldn't like being on-show when I was eating, either. I always pick a seat away from the window. I like cosy, dark restaurants. The meal sounded lovely anyway, though like Anglea, I don't much like the sound of goat curry even though it was probably delish!
As for the exercise equipment I'm selling, the buyer will have to collect from my house as it's too expensive for a courier and I can't take it to them. I said this on the listing so hopefully it'll all be ok :S0 -
Hi all
CL I'm so glad that you enjoyed yourself, and managed to still feel it was a good night even though going home didn't go to plan.
Yes I do know what you bought. Strangely enough it jogged my memory that I also bought some a few weeks back and still haven't unpacked them.
Hope your ebay sales are successful and without any problems.
Today with ex we took his mum out for a couple of hours in the car and I felt a bit sick by the time we got back to her house as I had been sitting in the back and where we live is all twisty country lanes.0 -
Ummm...so what did she buy then Anglea...???Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30
