    Hi all

Ziggles, I'm very sorry to hear about the date, that's a hurful thing to do. I hope he's got a good reason.

Mind you I once stood someone up on a blind date because it was short notice and I had very greasy hair. My friend arranged it. The next day we were in town and a very angry bloke came up to her raving about being stood up and I was furious when she told him it was me. I didn't bother making up an excuse but told him the truth about my hair :rotfl:Thank goodness I didn't turn up is all I can say after seeing him LOL.

Iced buns with butter. I got that idea after my cafe served chelsea buns with butter (yum)

No need to binge ziggles because he obviously wasn't the right bloke for you. And you haven't got any fudge have you??????

Have you started your accounts yet?

CL, sorry to hear about your skin. I didn't go to Greggs and even walked away from the frozen doughnuts with cream in Iceland!

I've had bad reactions to icing too but in a different way. Years ago I went to a school fair and they had a cafe section. I bought a couple of home made fairy cakes with lemon and other flavour topping. They were fantastic, so bought a few more. Must have eaten about 6 in the end. Then I bought a load for home. They didn't last long, I couldn't stop eating. In the night I had a migraine from hell

It happened another time too after eating shop bought lemon cakes with icing.

As to your weight. It may be that you are eating in a slightly different way to before your illness. Alternatively you can look at it that it might have taken x years to get 1.5 stone overweight so it will gradually creep up :(

Today I stayed in first time in months for a Saturday, yesterday I got very wet when I was out and couldn't be bothered to move today.

I was revising all my to-do lists including a full year timeline, trying out 'puss in the corner' and poker which is a 5x5 square and 3 x 9 pairs (all patience games with a pack of cards). Caught up with some chores, decluttered a few things and trimmed the back of my hair - need to do it again in the week.

CL - how are you getting on with the challenge, what did you decide on?

I didn't get any books. I'm going to add no salty snacks because I had such a craving the other day that I nearly bought a mega bag of Doritos. So I can't let that happen.

I wonder how NG and Frogletina is getting on?
  • heehe Anglea always the voice of reason!
I got a pizza but i stayed away from the fudge...it was close though.
P.s. i just read something funny- I'm not celebrating valentines day this year-I'm celebrating half price chocolate Tuesday!
haha cheered me up no end!
    Have a nice night all!

    Hi Anglea

I'm getting on fine, still no fizzy drinks. Had a couple of glasses of red wine yesterday when out having an Indian meal

I had blood tests yesterday regarding my urticaria rash. It has been bad all week but I woke up today fine and no problems all day.

CL - I had some Christmas cake on Wednesday and Thursday night with icing. I'm wondering if that could have made my rash worse. Not sure I should test the theory by eating some more today. However I've not had any before that so there is obviously something else that has been setting me off.

    Hi all

Nice to see you on here NG, I'm putting my headmistress hat on in anticipation of your spends LOL

I haven't bought any books but today I discovered the joy of spreading shortbread fingers with butter - a whole pack :(

Hope you have all been better behaved!
  • Evening ladies,

Frogletina, although I wouldn't try the icing theory right now (esp if your rash is starting to clear), chances it could've made it worse. I think sugar in general always makes skin problems worse.

NG I was quite looking forward to your rant... c'mon then!

Hmmmm, I am failing miserably to cut out junk. I bought a 6pk of barbecue rib crisps today and I've eaten 2 packets. Back to my old ways! I figure that my skin probably couldn't look any worse than it does right now, so might as well enjoy the junk while I can. I know - my attitude sucks :o:o

I aven't decided what to give up. Maybe by the time I decide, February will be over so I won't have to do it :p Next month I will give up energy drinks.

heehee you guys are really bad...I'm right there with you though! Attitude needs a serious re-tune! I ate half a bag (a big one) of minstrels before tea today :-(. Hopeless
Shortbread with butter Anglea...really? You are killing me lol!
Reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago. went to someone's house for coffee and wait for it, there were bikkies- fingers and...a few shortbread fingers broken into 3 bits each! I was horrified. i'd brouht some to share but (yes i know very immature) i decided if they were that tight i wasn't going to take them out and share! I mean really- we're all adults!!!

Now ladies have a good night and tomorrow's another day!

    Hi all

LOL Ziggles, your story about the biscuits. Do you think they just forgot to buy enough?

CL - at least you haven't eaten 6 bags in one go .........yet :)

UGH, I just finished off the ice cream (carte d'or vanilla)

The sooner I get back to buying books the better :(

LOL Anglea... YET indeed!! I wish I hadn't bought them, they're just tormenting me.
Can't say I have the same addiction to butter, though I do have a bit of a thing for cheese :S Err I hate to say it but maybe the books are the better substitute for you?

Ziggles, I forgot to say that guy who stood you up is an idiot, not worth your time anyway.
& Minstrels, I do love them. LOL, was the person whose house you went to a MSE'r? Sounds like it with her biscuit 'tricks'!

    Hi all

CL, I think in March my challenge will be not to buy cakes or snacks apart from when someone else is here. And even then, only get small portions so there won't be any leftovers for when I'm alone. I've been rooting in the freezer and I found an iced bun that I had to remove from my sight the other week (when I had the pack of 7) :)

Confession to make - there is another book in the house but it wasn't bought for me as such. Ex's mum has dementia and I spend the day with her at the weekend. I was going to look in the shops for a small jigsaw with a nice picture.

There weren't any in the charity shop and I happened to mention to the assistant that I had the perfect thing at home but didn't want to use it for MIL, in case she lost the pieces (cottage jigsaw book). The manager overheard me and brought out a beautiful Fairies jigsaw book. It was only £1.

Not only were the pictures beautiful (nostalgic scenes) but there were little stories for each page too. So I was convincing myself I'd have to do the puzzles first before I gave it to her. However, because I discovered some of ds's old puzzles at home, I'm going to keep the fairy book.

In case you're wondering about why I'd want it. A lot of the books I buy are for children because I like the illustrations. It was one of those possible career paths I considered but accidentally signed myself up to the wrong specialised art course, the tutor was the most unhelpful and negative teacher ever and it put me off painting for life. Arts and crafts is still a big hobby of mine, mainly do crafts.

CL - how many packs have you got left. I've never had that flavour, doesn't appeal to me.
