Hi all
Ziggles lovely to see you here again :T
CL well done for getting the job :T
It could be a case of kill or cure with the telephone phobia, but they might put pressure on you with sales targets so it's probably best you turn them down, especially if it's full time.
I'm reluctant to sign up for the challenge so what I'm going to do is this I'm going to have a box at home and if I buy anything in that 'can't leave the shop' way I've got to put something else into the box that will be taken back to a charity shop. Hopefully that will keep the new clutter at bay.
I just remembered that ages ago I started that 'get rid of one thing a day' challenge which I conveniently forgot
So with the jewellery and fudge is this literally going to be no buying or like mine an exchange?
Think i've missed some here!!! whats the challange?0 -
Hi all quick post as need to switch off
personal spends much lower than expected only £63.49 in Jan.
Will catch up tomorrow - be good.0 -
Hi guys. Thanks for the welcome back.
We have a sunny blue sky day here- after yesterday being awfully, windy and snowwy and dark grey- absolutely crazy weather!
CL- Do you have like a volunteer agency? e have one called volunteerhighland and it deals with all the voluntary agencies etc. who might need help and place you. Might be worth checking if you have a local one?
Anglea-So with the jewellery and fudge is this literally going to be no buying or like mine an exchange? i am trying not to buy at all. This is a struggle. So if i do buy it. I shall have to do something else in exchange- not sure what though.
Hope you're having a good weekend!Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Hi all
Pick something that you want to stop buying in February.
We can start this Monday the 7th.
My challenge - no booksor anything else that falls into the category of 'I can't leave the shop unless I have something'.
I'm not doing the exchange box because I want to stop buying clutter.
Today I had lunch out, library and charity shops.0 -

O...k for my challange - gosh im doing lots of these atm lol.
I am going to stop buying fizzy drinks at work - i'll continue taking my flavoured water. But may have an odd lucazade if I am feeling under the weather or need a wake up boost.
Does that count?0 -

I think that's ok, I sometimes find the need for Lucozade
My challenge is to stop buying diet coke when I am out in the evenings. I've managed to stop buying it to consume at home so this is the next step. I know I can do it , as I once gave up for 12 months, but really want to do it again

Hi ladies,
Mmmmh, I have no idea what to give up but I'm definitely up for this challenge. I know I said jewellery, but realistically, it's not going to happen. I'll think it over tomorrow and come back with my thoughts.
Topped up my phone today so spent £15 :S my phone is something I need to work on... I spend far too much on SMS competitions (did win a Blackberry last month though so I made back what I spent).
NG - lol! I've no idea what made you think I'm from Gloucester. Is that down South? I'm deffo not a southerner... Not that there's anything wrong with being oneI always think of Anglea as being a bit posh, I don't know why (don't hate me for saying that!)
Frogletina - I don't think I could give up diet coke/red bull/tea... I am a caffeine fiend. Although I did limit myself to 1 caffeinated drink per day as I know it makes my anxiety rocket (and turns my hair grey :S) but I managed a few months and then went back onto it. I don't smoke or drink so I'm not that bad really.
My splurge mentioned last night was an order from Topshop. I spent £200 BUT have no intention of keeping it all. In fact there's only one thing that fits and I'm busy debating whether to keep it or not. I do *need* it but could probably get something similar in New Look for £25 (instead of £40 at Topshop). But Topshop's are always better quality. Hmmmmm!
edit - ziggles, yes we have a volunteering place. I think it's called CVS... they tend to deal with work placements for people on Jobseeker's allowance. I have been there before but didn't find them particularly helpful. I might go again though and see what they suggest in terms of getting office experience.0 -
What binging is that ziggles?
I tend to buy about 2 or 3 packets fo fudge then take one to work and the other 2 up to my room and eat them all in one go:o. All between 5.15 and 6.30 tea time:eek:
This is the same for any snacks but especially fudge, pringles and chocolate fingers!Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30
