Ahh well, at least your intentions for buying the fairy book were good. I've probably said this before but it's nice that you are still on good terms with your ex's family, I know many people who end up hating their 'ex'-family.
I know it's v difficult to do art as a career... I loved art in school and college, I always got given the Art prize at prize eveningsIt's something I found effortless when other subjects were a chore (and a bore!) I kind of miss it but I guess it's always something that can be picked up as a hobby. I liked to paint. In fact I still have a painting (of a fairy actually!) that I did when I was in school, which got me my A* GCSE
Crisps - I still have 4pkts left. I'm not having any today, to make up for eating two yesterday. They're my favourite flavour of Walkers crisps, sort of beefy (or maybe porky? hmm) but sweet at the same time... odd mix but I like.
I will join you for sure in March with the 'no junk food' thing. Included in mine will be Pepsi max, energy drinks & crisps. I'm bouncing off the walls today - I've downed 2x energy drinks, 2x cups of tea and 1x can pepsi. Oh, and I've been taking paracetamol with caffeine (as I ran out of ordinary paracetamol) :S
I bought a few things today, nothing unnecessary though. But I did forget to use a voucher that I had in my purse, which would've saved me from spending any cash. Never mind, I can use it for something else.0 -
Hi all
CL, you do like your caffeine
Interesting to read about your fairy picture. That was a coincidence. Do you still do any painting or drawing nowadays? What about any crafts?
Seeing ex's and their families. When he first left I was more upset at the thought of not seeing his family than him!
Strangely enough I see more of him now than when he lived here, because he always worked late or was working away from home.
I stayed in today and didn't go to my craft club this morning - mainly because I went to bed at a ridiculously late hour after playing patience and I had to keep having 'just one more game'. Plus I had a feeling that I'd end up buying something to binge on.
I wonder how Frogletina is getting on with the drinks. And Ziggles with the fudge.0 -
Im afraid this won't be that interesting this time. To be honest, I think I have probably said all this a thousand times before, but i'm learning.. slowly.
I set myself three challanges this month - and sadly, I have managted to fail all but oneI am very disappointed in this, but it has shocked me quite a lot. Mainly because this is with me cutting back, watching money and being a little more careful so I wonder how much over the past 10 months I have actually wasted.
Also, since new year I made an habbit of writing down every penny spent - I have completely forgoten to do this, this week!! tut tut.
Feel quite proud of myself in an odd way that i've only spent £49 on clothes and fashion this month. For me, that is a big achievement!! I brought roughly £160 worth of clothes from dorothy perkins, because I wanted one thing, then pulled it up to £75 to get free PP then found something else and had to re-do. so got some returns to do.
Oh well i'll learn I suppose!!0 -
Hi Anglea, CL and all
I'm doing just fine regarding the drinks. Wish I could say the same with food, I won't have lost any weight this week, always a struggle
Not really been near any shops lately so have not been tempted to buy much. I nearly bought something on Ebay, signed up for the first time then forgot to look again until it had all finished!
I'll give up crisps for a bit once my stash has gone, I bought my favourites on special offer - loads of them. I intended when I started this diet to eat them once a week, but must have 2 or 3
Had a good morning as I'd been invited round to a new friend's house for tea. Have been quite lonely since I split up with my ex, and that was years ago, and I didn't really have any female friends to turn to. I could have done with being on the internet and this forum during those dark days
I only seem to have begun to move on the last couple of years, long may it continue!

Hey - you have succeeded in one of your challenges!

Hi all
NG, I'm trying to make sense of your spending - you spent £49 then you mentioned you spent 160 and 75. So I presume you are talking about returns (they confuse me as you know)
I'm sure you're spending a lot less than when we all first joined this thread.
Anyhow on the subject of failing challenges, thank goodness mine was about books and not food as today I was eating peanut butter with a spoon from the jar and just had some more shortbreads, thankfully without butter. Felt annoyed with myself opening a new pack. I can't believe what else I've got addicted to - Horlicks. I lost count how many I had today, no caffeine but over 100 calories a cup!
Frogletina, ooooooh don't mention crisps. What flavour? It's nice you had a friend to visit.
Thanks for that Edison quote, I need that to tackle my food problems.
I think with me and I'm guessing a number of you too, when it comes to compulsive spending, if it's not clothes then we still have to buy something else (note to myself - don't buy 4 packs of shortbread for £1 again)
I hope Ziggles has been off the fudge too. And did you have a dessert after your night out?
Sales addict if you are still reading, hope you are ok. And everyone else too from the old regulars ( I wasn't talking about ages LOL).0 -

Oh! I've been known to eat a big bag in one sitting. But I've promised myself not to buy anymore until I have lost the extra weight I have put on.
I've been buying the smaller bags at 5 for £2.50, before that I used pay up to 90p in a cafe. So I stocked up. Thing is, I only used to eat them once a week, but having them in has meant I have been eating lots more!
All chocolate gone from the house (except for one cheesecake - mmm), all fizzy drinks gone, one huge box of biscuits from Christmas not opened yet (shortbread) and all icecream gone. I'm sure the weight will not go before the crisps go - lol

Hi all
Luckily I don't really like those kinds of crisps and rarely buy them.
Walkers salt and vinegar...............that's another story!
Frogletina, you're in my bad booksyou mentioned shortbread - you know what that means with me
What is it about crisps that we can't be sensible with them?0
