Anglea, yes i have space... i have two tiny walk in wardrobes... and two small baskets with jeans etc... my good jeans are on size too small.. the only one fits me , i wear it everyday.. so i bought another one bootcut one, the same i am now.
BRAs , in la Senza there, usually bras are £5... so i bought some... like i said before like my jeans, my bras make me look like a wrapped jamon !.. cos the back is too small... i bought proper sizes now.
CL... we wont tell you off.. as long as you DO wear all u bought !:j
NG, so happy for you.. i wish i was working for a company like yours... ... and re jeans... i think i need to get some dresses... i practically live in jeans.. and when i am not wearing jeans, i am wearing track suits to work out !Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Hi girls,
Before I forget - what's a bodycon dress??
You were in full shopping mode weren't you CL? LOL I bet you feel great buying smaller clothes. Your comment about your stomach reminds me of the situation with my hips - now we're in the same boat.
What I've been buying myself lately are expensive mags, got about 5 so far in the last few weeks. I've also bought books - non-fiction is my vice.
Yesterday I did plan to buy something completely different and useful as a treat e.g. steak to eat for tea, but they didn't have anything decent by the time I was there (gone 5pm) and I had that 'can't leave the shop without anything' feeling.
I have a feeling a lot more stuff will be bought because the recent situation with the death has caused terrible consequences so it's an ongoing scenario that I can't see will end well.
I might try bringing a notebook and writing a fantasy shopping list whenever I see anything I want and see if that makes any difference. It would help of course if items I genuinely needed were easy to buy e.g. clothes or shoes that fit!
NG, it's really good that you are enjoying your course from work. Let us know what happened in Manchester.
I wonder if you'll meet a Mr Manchester?

No mr Manchester was met on this trip
I am currently chatting up another Mr Nottingham, shall we call him Mr Nottingham phase two :S (must think of name!)
Well, I went to look at the Jacket - and please sit down. I didn't buy the Jacket. I didn't look closely enough on the picture and on the back of the blazer in big writing it said "Pauls boutique" so a little young for me and certainly not something I could wear for work.
I didn't have a bag big enough to be able to carry my ring binder to work - so there was a lovely diesel bag in the Selfridges sale @ £15 that I have brought, it is pink with a rose design and is plastic and therefore water proof... so just what I needed
Also brought a lovely top from HM - asked my mum how much she thought it was she said £20 - it was TWO POUNDS NINETY NINE!! (Wrote in words to express more hehe) Also a clothes brush at £0.99 - don't know if I've mentioned before, but I have terrible skin condition on the back of my neck at the top and I am naughty and scratch it, so I get white on my clothes - tut tut.
Brought a birthday card from Selfridges too - brought Dads fathers day card from there, and they are a little more money (This cost £3.75 oppse to the normal £2 odd id spend) but you could really tell they was a better quality on the shelf, so I am hopeing to keep buying my cards from there in the future
Brought five mini chocolate bars from Thorntons as a treat for mum and dad, and a thankyou for my dad being my taxi service (said fathers day card was a picture of a car with "dads taxis") so that was £3
Dinner and drinks £6 in total.
Had a problem in Oasis to report... I did an Oasis by post thing 3 weeks ago, took it for refund today and was (inpolitely) told, no refunds after 14 days on sale items, just exchange. So... this is the clever plan this time. Remember the cardy I brought last weekend? Wellllll..... that expires next Saturday at end of Business, so I re-brought the cardy, will return on that reciept and pay the £25 onto my VIP card
Brought two lovely vest tops from Oasis £5 and £8 for my Holiday Felt quite odd buying holiday clothes... don't go till November, but by then ill have no chance
Need two pairs of shorts, a swimsuit in my current size in case I dont loose much, and a couple of pairs of sandals, and hol wise im done
Another thing is, the vest top, I nearly brought it full pice a couple of week ago
So total expenditure... about £50Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Luckily you discovered the blazer wasn't to your liking before you bought it.
I think I'm going to have to get drunk in order to fully understand your last paragraph  I never could get my head round returns properly LOL
You got some good bargains NGlady I can imagine you feeling excited about all your shopping.
I bought a pair of jeans, not tried them yet I'm already on a 'misfit alert':)
I'm pleased I wore a skirt for the first time today I'd bought months ago but had been too tight although had to wear a long top as well as a cardie to hide the bumps - not good in the heat LOL
My skirts now are either tight or too loose.0 -
I'm confused about NG's returns fiasco too, so you're not alone Anglea... and this is coming from the Queen of Returns!!!
Anglea, I hope the jeans fit. Why did you not try them on in the shop?
I have a confession to make
I, errr, went shopping again today. Totally unplanned. I exchanged a top for some bracelets... I was doing well at that point! Then a few other things 'fell' into my basket, and the rest is history.
In my defence, one of the things I bought was on my wants list. I can't say that for the other two items though
eta - ohh, and body con = body contour. It's like a very figure hugging dress. It isn't as tarty as it sounds, mine is more of a vest dress a bit like this one - http://images.asos.com/inv/U/26/167/689558/Print/image1xl.jpg
I'll probably end up wearing it over jeans.0 -
I just tried the dress on from today - won't say it was slimming, but it made me REALLY curvey in a good way :O £2.99!! I won't be wearing it round here, as its a sunshine thing, but on holiday I can imagin living in it - going to try and get one moreLearning to be 'good with money'0

Hi all
CL - I love that dress. So how did anything 'fall' into your basket??
What are the bracelets like?
I didn't try on the jeans (and still haven't because I've been gardening) because I was the only person in the shop and the assistant was a man you can imagine presenting a wildlife programme not selling clothes. The cubicle was right by where he was standing at the till. Put me right off. I rarely ever try anything on as I'm always weighed down with shopping, and today it was really hot.
NGlady I thought you bought a top not a dress for £2.99 - those Tunisian men will be happy to see you in something short and tight LOL0 -
CL - I wouldnt wear it with Jeans
It doesn't go with bodycon as it kind of bulks out in the wrong areas lol , you need to wear leggings or jeggings?
I made mistake earlier today put my new dress over my jeans mum told me off haha
Well I dont really know if its top or a dress to be honest - on trying it on its more of a short dress :O leggings will be worn - sorry Tunisian men lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
NGLady, i know a family that went to Tunisia, 2 teenage blonde girls and the mum( blonde too).. all of them have a big chest... the women there did not like them at all... they throw stones at them !!... i have to say these people wear quite tight and short clothes... i dont know if everyone there is the same, i am sure many british people travel there and have a good time....Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

Hi all
Oh my, getting stones thrown at you? May need to wear body armour. I've never heard that before, no-one threw anything at me LOL but I was with ex perhaps women on their own get hassle? Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any Tunisian women around.
Well I've just had a clothes trying on session.
So the outcome - new jeans fit, although slightly loose at the hips! so I might take them in a bit. They are a boyfriend fit so if I make a mistake it shouldn't look too strange LOL Tried every imaginable top with them.
Tried on a summer dress I didn't realise I even had! Very uncomfortable - it's one of those with loads of elastic at the top across the bust so was trying on loads of vests to see what could look ok underneath, finally found one with very thin straps and low front and back which was ok. It's got an attached underskirt which sticks to my legs everytime I sit - so decided against wearing that tomorrow when I'd be sitting a lot, but can wear it up the shops with a sleeveless blouse on top.
Wearing a new swirly skirt tomorrow, again a strange lining which has the potential to be annoying.
Why can't anything be straightfoward?????????
Hi Morocha, how are you doing?0
