Oops, I meant jeggings not jeans with the dress
Actually on me it's like a long vest top as I'm so tall, so I think it'll look fine. I'm officially a jeggings-convert! Never thought I'd see the day but they're sooo comfy I don't think I could go back to wearing normal jeans.
The bracelets are faceted purpley-brown beads, they're lovely, I don't have any like them already. I also bought some jeggings - this time a very dark blue pair (all my jeans that fit are light grey so I needed a dark blue pair) - £10 in the sale. And a purse which I really didn't need, but it wasn't particularly expensive :S I know that doesn't justify it, but meh.
Ahh Anglea, that's understandable about the jeans. I often won't go to the changing room if it's a man on. In our New Look there's always a man on the changing rooms, so I'm always too embarrassed to take underwear in to try on.0 -
Hi,
I'm sure this has been said on many many other reply's (If not and I am the first then WAHEY!!! :j).
Get a hobby. I am taking an art and a Spanish cookery course. Before these when I got bored I'd either arrange a night out with the lads and drink my way through £100 easy OR, I'd make my way into town and buy a load of old rubbish that I just didn't need... Magazines... I could spend £50 per week on magazines...
But now, I'm occupied 3 nights a week, go out to my local for a couple of pints once or twice a week which only costs me about £20 per evening I go out and instead of magazines I trawl through the BBC t'internet site instead :-)
Hope this helps, in the end I just realised I was bored...
Take care0 -
Hi MB
I know some people can shop, drink, gamble, have sex whatever through boredom or low self esteem.
I've never been bored as my life has always been extremely busy and I'm a keep fit fanatic but I've had this compulsion to buy things that started during a difficult period in life and it was like a form of comfort.
For me I think the magazines and books are an ingrained habit and are associated with certain stores, although I have noticed that if I'm in a hurry or weighed down with heavy bags, I tend to avoid buying them - because for me the real pleasure isn't the buying as much as the browsing and trying to make a decision which ones to get.
Reading this paragraph back it means I should race around at the most innoportune moment so I don't get the chance to browse.
Hope you all enjoy your Sundays girls - and boys.0 -
Hi Morocha,
Thankyou for the word of advise regarding the clothes in Tunisia. I don't normally wear tight clingy things, but I am blonde. So I will keep an eye out on this. I am not the most flirty person to be honest, but I will have a laugh with the waiters and bar men. My mum and dad went to Tunisia in March and loved it
I really can't wait to go
Sadly, they won't be bothered about my Cheast size
CL, I also really don't like men working on a womans changing rooms. I often go shopping alone, so I like to be able to open the changing room curtain and kind of step out and look at a distance.. I don't feel able to do this when a mans working the changing rooms. Also its nice to be able to pop out maybe ask an opinion, ask for a different size or help zipping up which I wouldn't feel as able to do with a man.
Angela, I would really love to be able to take clothes in (and out normally lol) May have to go to the charity shop at some point and buy a couple of very cheap items as a bit of a project for myself
MB - I do get bored very quickly, but I have started a college course through work, so hopefully when I invest in a laptop which has the appropriate softwear (and a battery that lasts more than 15 mins lol) I can do stuff like take myself off to the park on a nice saturday afternoon to do some coursework with a nice cold drink in the park
I am currently doing my monthly budget. I am being very careful this month, namely because I need my money for my laptop but secondly, because I need to raise some money to get my Holiday clothes sorted because come November there just womnt be any in stock, shall be very aware of what you said though Morocha
I got world cup on whilst doing it, I have to say England are quite disappointing. Morocha, what team are you supporting?

Hi all
I felt like the bees knees LOL in my new skirt today - no idea what I looked like though as I didn't look in the mirror before I went out. Still it's an unusual thing to feel so good with my clothes.
Hope you all had a good day and that NGlady you have finished your budget.0 -
Angela... sometimes, looking in a mirror is the worst thing you can do. You can tell if something looks stupid by just having it on, but sometimes you feel more confident by not seeing urself.Learning to be 'good with money'0

You're right. I remember one dress I wore for Christmas years ago, I thought I looked good when looking in the mirror but it was completely different style/colour that I'd normally wear.
Afterwards I remember someone saying they didn't like it on me
which annoyed me at the time, and looking back, I have to agree and feel embarassed I wore it LOL 0 -

As we've been bumped up might as well say something.
Was reflecting on a post on here from Monkeyballs - interesting name LOL about boredom.
I remember replying that I was never bored because life was so busy, however since then I was reading up about the meaning of boredom and could see there could be something in it.
I'm one of those people that is a real homebody and love being alone and walking for miles or pottering around at home. However, at times I feel embarassed by this so try to be someone I'm not and be exceptionally busy doing all sorts of things I really don't like - as a consequence feel very bored with them and I neglect important things that need to be done.
I think because I am very confident and extrovert there is an expectation from people that I ought to be doing all sorts dynamic things but deep down I prefer a simple life. And I've already had that jet set lifestyle in the past and it's not all it's cracked up to be.
So I have to agree the boredom of being someone I'm not, has drawn me to shopping. I do love the energy around shops but I think that's is more about chit chat to strangers or people I know and less about the actual shopping.
I don't particularly enjoy actual friendships with people apart from family (too many disappointments) but I enjoy chatting with anyone.
So that's my update.
What's been going on for the rest of you?0 -
Hey all

Angela, I do know what you mean about being able to chat to anybody but finding it hard to make real friendships - somehow I am this way. People try and make conversation, but I wouldn't dare walk up to a table of colleagues at dinner and ask to sit with them? I know I probably could, but its paranoyer in my head, and as more time goes along it wont be possible to just do that.
I was brought up to think the family is the only thing I need, and in some ways, ya know thats not far wrong
Been doing some NVQ work and went for a walk tonight with my mum, was only out 20 minutes but better than sitting round @ night
Anyway... My nvq person @ work today ws very impressed how much of a start i've made on the course
Hows everybody else? Anybody watching the Tennis?
