Evening ladies,
This week is going VERY wrong. Today, I had every intention of not buying anything from Tesco, and decided if i was to buy something it would be something small like a couple of pairs of socks or something. Hrhhh well no lol.
This has resulted in me only being allowed to spend £15 over the next three days. Something which is going to be very hard to do. However as its Easter weekend hopefully I shall claw back some NSDs thenI am better than in the past, as I am actually considering my money more and realizing by over spending one day it needs to come back some how.
Really need to get back into the habbit of having two purses - will do this from tomorrow
So onto my spends and justifications lol.
Got to Alfreton and it was peeing it down so we went into the chippie to wait for the rain to go bafore walking accross town - £3.60
Saw an old sweetshop - spent £2 but this was on a little present for my Dad tooI love the feeling of treating somebody a little
Went into Tescos.... the sale has started ... ended up spending £18 on two dresseswhy can't they not fit?! lol.
Tooth paste £2.30 buy one get oneenough to last me until about May, so bargain really.
Waiting for my Dad to finish work so we could have a dry lift home £2 in tescos cafe.
so overall £27.90 - really need to start being more careful. I have been doing so well past fortnight. Job Interview tomorrow so shall try and only spend my bus fare of £3 but I have two dates this week to pay for too, hope there gents :S lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
morocha - sorry to hear about your family & cshingles. Horrible thing to have, I hope they get well soon xxx
supersmith - well done on avoiding clothes shopping!
NGlady - that floral boyfriend cardie sounds gorgeous (and a bargain). Oh, and good luck with the dates. You seem to go on loads, you're obviously more sociable than me... I couldn't cope with meeting so many people :S Wish I was braver.
angelflower - sorry to hear you slipped up... but look on the brightside, you can take some of it back so all is not lost. And I feel your pain re: household things breaking down, it always seems to happen when our budget is tight.
I've noticed a few people mentioning Ethel Austin closing down. This makes me sadOurs was a bit odd last time I was in.. very empty... I just thought they were refurbishing! But they must be closing too.

Completelylost - I have to admit im meeting them on the internet. Wouldnt have the guts to go up to a guy in the real world :OLearning to be 'good with money'0

Nothing wrong with that
You're still meeting them in the flesh eventually... I couldn't do that! I am so ridiculously shy I can barely hold a conversation in real life.

You know as daft as this sounds, one of the best things I did was join a chatroom, you really get some confidence going with chatting to new people. I love ukchatterbox for it, you do have to take it with a pinch of salt but if you have the ability to be a bit tounge in cheek its really good.Learning to be 'good with money'0

Hey NGlady, you know I do the internet thing too. Not because i'm shy but my social life is all about my friends and so i use it to meet men as I don't otherwise. It works for me for fun and frolics!
On the two purses note I do that now and keep my grocery budget in one. On Grocery Challenge and did it in my target (£40 food for the house) last month so it's really helped me.
Enjoy your days all and look at the time! Delivery day today so I'm on the early. Does mean I finish at 4 and having a few friends from work round for pizza and drinks tonight which should be fun!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Tell me about the two purses system - sounds like an excuse to spend double!!
If I take my purse out with me at all, I spend money so I often try to leave it at home if at all possible.
Finally got my wardrobe decluttered and really enjoy opening the door to see how lovely and tidy it is. As expected, found some items that I rarely wore but are still perfect for me so I'm wearing a long forgotten top and cardie today that are just lovely and no spending required! As for my 'fat' clothes, well they were just too depressing to look at and I've added them to the eBay pile. The weather is just so crap at the moment that it's hard to get motivated for exercise. Can anyone recommend a thread here that will help get me moving - -purely for moneysaving reasons of course0 -
Completelylost - if you're shy about meeting men - do you go to the library? Saturdays where I live seems to be full of them - you could drop a book next to the one you fancy?0

Angela, my male friend suggested go into Next or somewhere with a male concession also. When U see a fit man walk by, ask what he thinks of the outfit because you have a date at the weekend, engage him in chit chat, get him to take u for a coffee after the shop, then err the date didnt go to well afterall
As if ive have the confidence lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
2 purses sounds interesting... yes tell all! I'm looking for a way to avoid going into town tomorrow (pay day) and making up for all the times of being good??? Nglady it did strike me maybe that's what you were doing when you had a mini spree in tescos? I find it really hard to be 'good' for extended stretches of time and then have to be 'bad' to make up for it lol
Good luck with the job interview as well!
I did manage to stick to my £4 budget for the pub yesterday but it was more luck than willpower I think... I was really hungry and about to borrow some money against next week's budget to order some food- when the guy whose celebration it was ordered lots of food for the table!! I reall wasn't expecting it, so lovely, snacky shary nacho goodness
so had my couple of drinks as well and didn't have to borrow money in the end.
Your clutter-free wardrobe inspires me Polly! I need to do that...
Thanks completely lost! You might need to find a more 'manly' thread to meet men on the internet, shopping might be a bit girly-focused! I reckon go for it...0
