Hello again,
Just caught up on all your posts...phew!
NGLady: Congrats on the interview and good luck for the next one! Also can I ask, which shop it was that you bought the 3 bf cardigans for £10?
Velocity Girl: I hope you having a great holiday and well done on the low spends.
Morocha: I hope your feeling ok, and don't have any shingles symptoms yet.
Little Chicken: I get treats for myself too, I always buy my friends No.7 gifts at Christmas so I get the free gift.
Polly: I've bought loads of new stuff recently because I've put on weight, but I think alot of it would still be ok if I loose weight (shift dresses, empire line tops etc). I'm determined not to sell/get rid of any of my smaller clothes though as I really don't want to stay this weight, I've just bought a couple of exercise DVD's, some weights, a powerball and also want to get a cross trainer next month. I know all this costs money, but I see it as an investment and at least it costs less than a gym membership. I'm planning on going through my wardrobe this weekend and putting all my 'too small' clothes into storage.
Completely Lost: You sound so lovely and bubbly on this thread I can't believe your so shy, but it looks like you might have an admirer now
Flickering Ember: I can't believe you can pass for 15 at 24!!! Do you use some kind of special moisturiser??Also well done on all the book selling, I uploaded about 20 books on Greenmetropolis last month, but haven't had any luck yet.
Angela: I wish my Library was like yours, mine is also full of OAPs etc.
Too all you other ladies well done on the low spends and try not to beat yourself up so much on those 'higher spend days' :A
Easier said than done I know, and it probably helps in the long run, if you give yourself a bit of a hard time...
Oh, can anyone tell me what PAD's means?

So you're a shopaholic too? What are your areas of impulse cravings?0 -
LadyV I am just blessed; I am so unhealthy it's beyond belief. I should look about 390!! My family have good genes; my grandmother was in her 80s and got mistaken for 60-odd. It has its downsides though as I have recently for the first time started getting asked for ID which I don't have.
Hopefully my books will sell; got about 140 listed at the moment...things are rather slow and quiet.0 -

Flickering Ember, You are very lucky, I often get asked for ID in pubs and even in supermarkets, but I definately look my age (26) I think the staff are just being jobsworths. My passport has run out now so I don't actually have any ID which is very annoying when I'm trying to get into a bar with friends or I have to put the bottle of wine back in Sainsburys. Passport = another thing I need to add to my list of things to buy!LBM: September 2006 Debt at LBM: £18,325

I need a passport anyway LadyV just cant afford one on Jobseekers allowance.
With me, it's merely common sense too; I mean I was buying ingredients including parmesan and risotto rice and got IDed for a 125ml bottle of white wine which was a risotto ingredient.
Surely an underage drinker would be trying to buy an 8 pack of Strongbow or something with maybe crisps/pizza/chocolate if any food at all, and not dressed in a business suit as I was? !!!!!!.0 -

Yeah, I think passports are about £80 now, such a lot of money!
I know exactly what you mean, I sometimes go into Sainburys and pick up all the things I need for a nice meal for one and a bottle of wine and get ID'd it's ridiculous, like an underage drinker is going to go home, cook themselves a nice meal and have a few glasses of red! I then have to walk all the way over to Tescos, which are usually less strict. I tend to pick the counter with the youngest Cashier now as they're usually better (a little tip for you there). :cool:LBM: September 2006 Debt at LBM: £18,325

LadyV, It's Tesco who have given me the grief and it's been bloomin' kids younger than ME doing this.0

Hi all
I often read in the papers that OAP's have to show ID for drink too in some stores. There was even one story where a woman had gone in with her elderly mother. The daughter was asked for ID, and didn't have any. So the mother produced hers but wasn't allowed to buy anything in case she gave it to the daughter (middle aged). You can't make it up!!!
Library of OAP's. What about travelling to a library in a town that has a university?
I go to the library everyday and I've noticed that on Saturdays it's very different than normal, late morning (to avoid hangovers I suppose) or just before closing.
Lady V - I was reading your other post with your first total £248 and it didn't seem to add up from your weekly spends until I noticed the 2 x 40 then the coat. Amazing how fast it all mounts up.
NGlady - if you're back in Nottingham - I dread to think what you will return with LOL
Well done Flickering Ember on your decluttering
Souk - do you have a headache?
Was given a large box of choccies yesterday for helping someone out, but I'm allergicbut at least it's at home for other people turning up. Also won a contest -well my special needs son did and I got the call on his behalf - choccie eggs (guess how many in a box) so he won all the eggs (those mini ones that look like real birds eggs). The total was 169 and he guessed 168.
But I did treat myself to a bag of yoghurt covered banana chips. Now my other son is coming for Easter I'm hiding lots of food upstairs or it will be all gone in a few days. LOL
Compulsive shopping update - 2 books, both mistakes as they didn't turn out to be as expected.
