Stayed in today so no food shopping. Caught up with a number of yukky items on my to-do lists. I always get a good feeling when I do that - nearly as good as shopping!
It's a good feeling, isn't it. I made a list last night but have only done 3 things out of 20! Been doing lots of matched bets though, so the day wasn't a complete waste.Back from my shopping trip - Shall report back on what ive spent later, oh dear0 -
Right, I've just got back from an Indian buffet - mother's treat
It was lovely but I'm so stuffed, I feel huuuuuuuge.
Then went to the all-night Asda and had a look around the clothes dept. They had some lovely jumper dresses for £12, I tried one on but the size 18 was tiny!!! Ridiculous sizing - I am not and never have been a size 18, not unless the all-you-can-eat buffet made me gain two sizesAlso saw a nice long chunky cardie which was reduced to £8, but I left that.
So, today has been a NSD for me. My first in a while... Tomorrow will hopefully be the same.0 -
Right then ladies lol. Time for another "Lauras daily biography" time. Sorry if all my posts are sooo long, once i start typing I can't stop haha.
A lot of my items brought on my shopping trip today was "returns" for things brought last week - including a damaged dress from Debenhams, got the exact same one again today, and theres a hole in this one too - i think a complaint to debenhams and I won't be buying another one of the same lol. Also, managed to buy some shoes today from Faith that ive been in love with since last september but theyve never had my sizethen they stopped making them, now there back but hey read below for more details haha.
Total amount of returns made: £58
Total spend in addition to the total value of returns inc buses and meals £13
I returned the Oasis blazer as it washed me out - exchanged for another item, which I think is going to look lovely in the summer with some linen trousers and a black boob tubewhich cost £10 - so £10 back to me.
Went to Debenhams. Was only going to return the faulty dress, but the other dress I brought last week mum pointed out very rightly it was the wrong length on me and drownded me. So returned both "Lost my receipt" so got £60 back rather than £48 lol. Out of this, brought the rose dress thats being returned and also a reallllly pretty dress from the coast concession also a black flower bobble which I was after - so spending £7
Then there was the Faith shoes http://www.faith.co.uk/black-carden-court-shoe-prod491200/ these cost me £14 - I had a £20 voucher left over.
Then I went into primark, brought two pairs of the sandals i was talking about the other day, 2 scarfs and some tights for the princely sum of £11...
Dinner £5 yum kfc nom nom nom.
Buses £5
Engagment card (Will my friends stop getting engaged lol) £3
Adams was closing down so brought neice some clothes £8
So....
This weeks total spends (Saturday 13th - Midnight 19th) This includes couple of meals and some groceries brought last weekend out of food allowanceI am counting every penny spent. I have no idea what I would have spent in the past each week, but im betting this is much lower
Out of saving the money I didnt spend each day I saved £30 up
Just goes to show, by spending a little more time at home etc etc
Total = £116.47 *Eyes jump out of eye socket* I was expecting much less :S if I remove the 2 x takeaways last weekend it would be the £100 mark, so hmmm
Target this week then live on £70 for EVERYTHING for a full week. Wonder if I manage this

I enjoy reading your daily biographies. And I love KFC... haven't had it for ages though. Just can't justify it (yet can justify spending £6 on diet coke :S I don't make sense).
And don't feel too bad, I've spent £123.99 in 7 days (£230.39 if you count the things I've returned).
I got my huge New Look order today. Inside there was a magazine with a coupon for 20% off  So annoying, but they don't have the stuff I want instore. I got two tops (might keep one), jeggings (might keep), jogging bottoms (might keep) & some boots (returning for sure as they're sadly too small).0 -
Strange isn't it how our mind sets allow us to justify things. E.g I think nothing really of say a fiver on fastfood when out, but I wouldn't spend that fiver on something like going for a day out to somewhere that costs a bit more to get there.
Oh yes I had one of those vouchers too - good aren't they :S Why not be naughty, go to newlook when its quiet and ask if you can return and re-buy with the discount voucheralways worth a go lol. There jeggings dont work for me
Im a size 16 in most leggings but even a 14 in the jeggings are too loose, go figure lol.

I'm the opposite with jeggings/leggings - I always take one size bigger than I do in jeans. No idea why! Though know my luck they'll end up loosening off after one wear.
Hmm, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to ask to rebuy them with the discount :S Have any of you done that before?? Actually I have loads of vouchers I could use too which would pay for everything... I can see the sales assistants cursing me though, lol. I think they dread me coming into the shop, as it's always to return stuff I've ordered on the website.
Oh, and my computer desk has just died! The keyboard shelf has completely come away, so I have my keyboard on my knee. We've had it since 1999 so it has had a good innings. My mum said she'd buy me a new one so I've just ordered it... I think next month I'm going to concentrate on buying things for my bedroom as I'd like some new drawers and duvet covers.0 -
Anglea Well, since I started this week turning my impulse shopping to buying food instead
NGlady I like reading your updates, plus they make me think about what precisely I spent today instead of just thinking in approximates.

Yes I did it in Faith a few months ago. Brought an item online cos they didnt have my size in, took it to store asked for a refund and re-brought using a discount. Not my fault afterall they didnt have product i wanted in store.
Todays blowy and windy so I think shall be a NSD or a MSD at very worse. Don't fancy walking 10 minutes to my bus stop in the rain, b ut i might end up spending things if i go out with the parental units laterLearning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hi all
Until one day I got the shock of my life. A girl was asking for money to pay off debts and she was willing to either draw a picture, or send her knickers!verynewmoneysaver wrote: »You have to pay £12 now to register with big wardrobe but I don't think you used to have to. You'll love the sealed pot gang - they're fab. As are the ladies on here of course. But there are also a couple of geezers on the SP thread. Form an orderly queue girls.;););)Save me from spending...

Hi all
I'm joining those of you Sophie K fans and got the 'Shopaholic and Baby' today.
Bought 3 mistfits :rotfl:will be keeping them, can't be bothered to return them. They are those long tops, but I didn't consider that because they had lycra in them, they would come up smaller than I was expecting. I was planning to wear them over trousers but will have to be tucked into a skirt instead.
Went food shopping too. Mum gave me some jars and lots of plants so got a lift from dad.. Thank goodness as it was pouring and I had 4 heavy bags.
Saw a handbag in the charity shop window - £50! Took a look to see why it was priced so high and couldn't see a make.
What are jeggings?0
