VNMS, that book looks good; think I'll give it a go once I've gotten through the massive pile of books I am already wading through.
I also read and loved all the Sophie Kinsella books and heartily recommend them.

Went into Monsoon yesterday and saw a rail of lovely cardigans in fab colours at half price. Normally I would have bought a couple without even thinking about it but my sister was with me and I'd just told her about my shopping addiction therefore couldn't buy anything with her there. Spent the rest of the afternoon thinking up ways to get back to Monsoon without her but to no avail. When I got home and opened my wardrobe, I spotted several Monsoon cardigans which I hardly ever wear and felt ashamed. I would have bought more if I could and this is why I have no money. My wardrobe is bulging with clothes for 'another' life and not this one that I'm living. I don't wear the cardigans (nor 99% of the other items hanging there) as I've put on weight in the last couple of years and just don't wear pretty stuff like this any more. However, I just can't stop buying it. In the meantime, I have nothing to wear that I feel happy in. Help......:o0

Well, I spent an hour sitting on my doorstep in the dark as I forgot my doorkey (mum and both sisters were out), I didn't have any money and 2p on my mobile.
But anyway... nothing particularly positive to report hereThe carrier bags and boxes of stuff are mounting up again.

Hi, just passing through and read this last page. Just wanted to ask you Polly if you sell anything on Ebay. They are having a free listing weekend this w/e and labels like Monsoon usually sell really well. Then you could use the money to buy something that you will wear. Can't stop - addicted to the shindig.0 -
Evening Ladies!
I've had a couple of 'MSDs', yesterday had to buy milk for work in the morning and bought some groceries (not really essential) after work so a total of £4.39. Today I bought 3 cans of coke (£1), three of my favourite chocolate bars (£1) and a folder (£1) for my financial paperwork, all from poundland, so a total of £3 today.
Over the past two days I have spent alot of time researching this website, and others and have managed to do the following:-
*Decided to join the virtual sealed pot challenge, starting tomorrow.
*Ordered my free breakfast from ‘milk&more (milk, eggs, bread and bacon).
*Got stuck into my old Survey sites that I've been neglecting lately and signed up to a few new ones.
*Joined some new cashback sites and am already up to £35 on Quidco.
*Ordered some free samples (Ariel liquitabs, Bold liquitabs, Vaseline sheer infusion, L’Oreal youthcode and foundation).
*Got free Grand Designs tickets and free National Trust entry tickets.
*Paid £1 for three PC magazines with a free 26 piece toolkit (I won't read the magazines but really need a toolkit so this is a bargain).
*Downloaded my credit report.
*Joined Green Metropolis and added all my books.
*Ordered some free veggie seeds.
*Looked into lots of other ways of making money.
If any of you are interested in any of the above freebies etc I'd be happy to post the links.
So I'm feeling quite proud of myself and actually get quite a buzz from doing all this stuff and it’s much longer lasting than spending £100 on clothes I don't need.
However as I was walking through town today I did notice a pair of shoes that I am going to add to my wishlist (a list of items I will buy after pay day each month, if I still really want them, rather than impulse buys) and they are only £18.99 and exactly what I want; not too high, cone heeled, strappy 'cage' sandals.
Anyway I hope you've all had a successful few days?
Completely Lost: The red Suede shoes sound gorgeous, I really want a pair of red shoes.

I like how you're all using 'MSD' now. I made that up
But err yeah, I'm sure someone else thought of it before me.
Oh, and I went to the dentist today (ugh). But on the plus side, I didn't have to pay the £40 I'd anticipated. I have a good few £s to pay out for college next week though so that £40 will soon disappear...
NGlady, how did your Asda interview go? I've heard they made you do really stupid roleplay activities in their interviews. The mere thought of an interview terrifies me!0 -
Hi girls,
Completelylost, ordered 3 pairs of shoes???.
FEmber - hope you can feel more secure by the time the next rent is due
Polly - From what I remember of the posts, I think a lot of us have the bulging wardrobe nothing to wear issues. I cetainly do. So you have a cardigan addiction then?
NGlady - When will you learn if you have the job?
Well, since I started this week turning my impulse shopping to buying food instead, I'm eating more than normal e.g. today while cooking my tea I was hungry so ate 3 slices of bread with thick Lurpak butter and peanut butter on top. Then I ate some cakes and they were horrible so I cut them in two and spread butter on them LOL
Yesterday I had a whole malt loaf with butter in one go and 3 bags of crisps
I might have to buy things I don't particularly like, but will be useful to try in different recipes.0 -

I really enjoyed the 'shopaholic' books and only recentky gave them to Oxfam to free up some room. I've just finished Saving Karyn about a 29 year old in NY who sets up a website and asks people to pay off her debt for her. I'd recommend it for a bit of a light hearted read.
I went into town yesterday and spent nada - was really tempted by an OPI Alice in Wonderland nail polish but managed to resist.:T Also returned a top yesterday, and saw I have £150 due from Quidco this month which is much needed.
Haven't really started the job hunt yet, but I will next week.
Have a fab weekend everyone - and keep those credit cards in your pockets.:A LCxSave me from spending...
