    Hi all

Little Chicken when I read your post about that book it reminded me of an unusual situation years ago. I used to have a website with all info about making money online, . one of the ways I got people to sign up to the referral pages (and a way to see the competition) was on a special site where other people's pages loaded automatically on my screen like a slideshow - all similar to mine, web business.

Until one day I got the shock of my life. A girl was asking for money to pay off debts and she was willing to either draw a picture, or send her knickers! :)

Thanks for all the great ideas -so glad I found this thread because sometimes I just feel so alone with my money worries. I have a great husband but joke that he's like the Queen as he doesn't handle cash at all - he just leaves it all to me which has meant that I can hide my spending from him but still have to carry all the money worries for the family. I've asked him many times to take over our finances and give me 'spending money' to help me stay on track but he insists he'd be worse at it than me!

    Hi all :)
Well, going into Nottingham today :) First time I shall have set foot into the shops since last Sat, going good for me lol.
Returning one of the dresses I brought last sat in the hope of getting the petite version as its a bit shorter, the one I brought is a funny length. Also returning the Oasis jacket in favour of a different one ive seen in Debs which would be more wearable :)
Its amazing, that somehow, since last Saturday I have managed to save £30 in bits and bobs by not constantly walking round the shops, quite impressive.
Today, I dont want to spend anymore money than i've already spent i.e return things for an exchange.
    wish me luck lol.

  • hiya...

I mentioned i'd read 'in the red' by Alixis Hall a while ago, and i agree with the poster-it's a brilliant book and opens your eyes to everything, and you are not going through it alone.

Well so far this week i've won £374 at Cheltenham...all from an intial outlay of £30...so not bad going...i've just got today to run with and then that's it until the Derby for me...

I registered and paid my £12 on Bigwardrobe and listed 16 things on there...and just in the process of my first swap, a top for some perfume...which i NEED as i've run out totally:p

So today, i've spent so far, tidying the house...got my dad and stepmum coming for tea later...and DS is going to sleep over theirs this Sat and DD is going to sleep at the inlwaws...Bloke and i are going to see the Joy Formidable in Brum and have a boogie at their club nite after(he doesn't know about the last part as he doesn't know kids are sleeping at their nannys!):rotfl:Should be a good nite, been ages since we've been out dancing together.

Not much else to report...no spending today bar the intial £30 i've not transfered to my bank account from William Hill online:D

Going to hunt round the house for stuff to ebay this weekend too as it's a free listing weekend??! i think!

Have a great weekend ladies and TRY not to spend too much xx
Hoping to of finally learned my lesson...slowly but surely

I've just finished Saving Karyn about a 29 year old in NY who sets up a website and asks people to pay off her debt for her. I'd recommend it for a bit of a light hearted read.

Have a fab weekend everyone - and keep those credit cards in your pockets.:A LCx

Should have read this post an hour ago.....Just took my new credit card out to lunch and purchased replacement GHD's which arguably I need since mine busted well before xmas but still wish I had waited until end of month and bought with cash. Never mind, will still pay off as much as possible at pay day and clear the balance with PADS before the 56 days are up if I can.

I read that book ages ago and was looking but couldnt find it!! Have In the Red on my amazon wish list for a flusher day :)

    Hi girls,

Completelylost, ordered 3 pairs of shoes???.

Well, since I started this week turning my impulse shopping to buying food instead, I'm eating more than normal e.g. today while cooking my tea I was hungry so ate 3 slices of bread with thick Lurpak butter and peanut butter on top. Then I ate some cakes and they were horrible so I cut them in two and spread butter on them LOL

Yesterday I had a whole malt loaf with butter in one go and 3 bags of crisps :(

I might have to buy things I don't particularly like, but will be useful to try in different recipes.
Maybe the food shopping isn't such a good idea? :o I know it'd be a nightmare if I knew I had loads of food in the house. I have no self control.
I went into town yesterday and spent nada - was really tempted by an OPI Alice in Wonderland nail polish but managed to resist.:T Also returned a top yesterday, and saw I have £150 due from Quidco this month which is much needed.
Ooh, I wassoooo tempted by the Opi Alice in Wonderland set too. I want it... just don't need it :o

Good luck to you.. I quite like the feeling of exchanging things... but for me it's just not quite the same buzz as getting cash back:o Though I'd much rather have an exchange/credit note than nothing at all.
  • You have to pay £12 now to register with big wardrobe but I don't think you used to have to. I need to get round to putting more things on there. I want to read "Saving Karen" next. I've now joined "Sealed Pot" challenge too to help me save for Christmas.

    Hi all

Stayed in today so no food shopping. Caught up with a number of yukky items on my to-do lists. I always get a good feeling when I do that - nearly as good as shopping!

Velocity girl - congrats on your wins.

I had been thinking about you today NGlady, wondering what you were doing at the shops, and what you had to eat. So it was one of those days then was it LOL
