    Debt-free and Proud!
    V productive day today.

Got hair cut, so don't look as bedraggled, slightly more than I was expecting, as my regular hairdresser has been promoted. Payments made off cc1 and loan, however interest gone onto cc2, so that has gone back up slightly, but will have another £100 knocked off it half way through the month. Going to pay the other £300 this month off cc1 in the morning, but as things are usually a rush, have update my totals now. Below the 12k mark, so now £1015 paid off debts so far. Which doesn't sound much, but when you take into account that I will have paid more than that, but that interest has been added on again with new statements, etc, etc, but hey it's a step in the right direction.

It just looks better coming down from 12 to 11.

    :)

  • Well done you - amazing what you can do when you focus....wish I had more spare to chuck at mine but regular outgoings are high - still slow and steady is getting me there....this time last year I was about £10k and now am about £5k.....so definite progress....has required dramtic reining in of spending but that's good....

Just a thought but can you swap to 0% on any cards? Seem to be lots of 0%s around again judging by my mail lately.......

    That's brill.

I would think about swapping and I know this is screwed logic, but I don't want to start any new agreements, I'm just concentrating on clearing off the old dead wood. Feel like I'm well underway with my debt free journey now though. I'm actually going to enjoy building savings for a holiday, Christmas, and other things like that.

My mum was really pleased with the diamond and sapphire ring I got her on ebay. It was her combined Christmas and birthday present, and although it cost only £32, it really made her day.

She lost her engagement ring, and has not had any nice jewellery, ever since I can remember. She retired this year too, so this was my special gift to her. :)

For our village promises we have decided to promise some elderflower champagne, that we will make in the summer. We tried last year, but it turned out that what we had picked was rowan, and the end result did not smell or taste very nice. Fingers crossed we can put a batch away this year!!

Might try and make Hugh's stinger beer. Wish we could go to River Cottage for the fair again. It was lovely last year, and we had a really nice time in Lyme Regis sitting on the front with some fish and chips. Maybe we might make a short weekend there. We'll see.

    :)

Well I can see that I'm going to have to find some other ways to generate income throughout the month. After the initial excitement this morning of making my payments, seems like an awful long time until next payday. Will sort some more ebay stuff out this weekend. Let's crumble that debt.

Will however purchase two necklaces that I saw in the Rackhams outlet store today. Cool ones with chunky beads. Dressy, but I think it always helps to have an accessory to make a plain black dress stand out. Always handy for job interviews, you need to stand out from the crowd. A couple I have are starting to look a bit tired, so replacements need to be sought.

    :)

    Yay it's friday!!!

Raring to go this morning. A good night's sleep was had, and i think this was down to the fact that I didn't have any alcohol last night. For some reason I don't get a good night's sleep when I drink.

Another £200 paid of the credit card this morning, and several watchers on my ebay items. Lets just hope that lookers turn into buyers.

Going back to Rackhams today for some bargains. Got Annick Goutal shower gel yersterday in Neroli and Mandragore for £3.75 each, usually £36 (or so the sticker on the front says). Feeling quite cheery today.

    Have a good day everyone.

    xx

Well I'm making progress. I have several temptations at the moment on the new clothes front. But I can see me coming a mile off and it is just-payday lets buy something and it's been sunny this week, thus reminding me of summer, which all equals new clothes.

The guilt would outweigh the pleasure of buying. The guilt I feel these days for spending anything is amazing. I can soon have these things again. I just have to clear this lot first, and then keep a separate pot of clothes saving money

    Morning!

Just paid another £100.13 off cc one. Top issue has finally been resolved, with Paypal winging the payment to me now. Going to have a busy day today and then dedicate tomorrow to slobbing around. The last few weekends have been work, work, work, so i think i deserve it.

Freezer is coming today, so not long now until I can plunge into a tub of Ben and Jerrys cookie dough icecream (it has been two years since I last had any, owing to lack of freezer).

Going to try and get some bargain undergarments if there is an M&S sale on today. Looking on their website, they are opening at 8.30 which is earlier than normal, so perhaps that is a sign.

    Anyway cheerio for now.
    :)

Thanks Shoe Gal. Didn't get any smalls (or larges, rather in my case), but managed to get some nice trousers for my mum for £3, they will do her nicely for her holiday with the girls in a few weeks time.

Decided I'm not going to list anything this week on ebay as I want a weekend off it, next weekend. It takes a lot of managing, constantly being chained to your computer, to answer questions about listed items, checking payment has been received, checking people are happy with the stuff sent out the week before, etc etc.

I now need to go off and learn how to issue a refund for a bracelet I sold last week. My buyer bought it for 99p. I described it as silver, as although it is not hallmarked, you can tell by the lustre etc that it is not silver plate. But anyway they say that it's not hallmarked so want to send it back. Fair enough, but for 99p!!!!!!!!! It's now going to cost them another £1.87 to send it back. I have withdrawn funds from Paypal, and it takes 7-9 working days for you to credit funds back. Clearly they are not going to want to wait this long for their refund, so I need to quickly find out how to issue a refund using my debit card.

Just a pain in the behind for 99p. I'll wear the rest of the stuff or give it as presents, and it doesn't take up that much space. Anyhow, you live, you learn.
